This has probably been done before, but...not by me.
What I want to know is WHAT your favorite Bible verse is, and WHY.
Does it comfort you? Bring you peace or joy? Remind you of what's important?
Here's mine:
"If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them." -Luke 6:32
...because like it says, even sinners love those who love them. It's easy, so easy, to show Christ-like love to someone who is showing that to you. It's easy to be nice to people who are nice to you. It takes little or no sacrifice of self to love those who are good to you.
But to love, really love, people who are mean, people who dislike you, people who hate you...that takes work, it takes a change in your own heart, it takes prayer, it takes trust in God...
I like that the verse challenges me to go beyond my own selfish human nature, and to be more like Jesus.
(any more explanation and I might as well be over on the Work in Progress thread...)
