Will those whose marriages were such a success and whose love and devotion to each other mirrored the love of Christ for His people not be allowed to restore that marriage and continue that love in the life to come?
Yes, the Bible says the law is not necessary in Heaven, however, it does not say that we will not still have that union.
But what do you all think?

Study Jesus after his resurrection and before he ascended for these types of questions......Jesus said there will be no marriage at the resurrection....

Mark 12:25 - When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

However you will still know & love that person.

Only if you're a Mormon.

Mat 22:23 The same day came to him the Sadducees, which say that there is no resurrection, and asked him,
Mat 22:24 Saying, Master, Moses said, If a man die, having no children, his brother shall marry his wife, and raise up seed unto his brother.
Mat 22:25 Now there were with us seven brethren: and the first, when he had married a wife, deceased, and, having no issue, left his wife unto his brother:
Mat 22:26 Likewise the second also, and the third, unto the seventh.
Mat 22:27 And last of all the woman died also.
Mat 22:28 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife shall she be of the seven? for they all had her.
Mat 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

1Co 11:11 Nevertheless neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

Gal 3:27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

The angels in heaven have no gender, but are all the same in essence, and are known with masculine names for they are greater than people, while people are on earth, but in heaven the saints are above the angels, and angels are ministering spirits to all those who shall inherit salvation, and they desire to look in to the salvation of the saints.

In the Lord all are equal, free or bond, all ethnic groups, male and female. There is no classes of people in heaven, but all are equal, and the saints are like unto the angels, all the same, and the same essence. In heaven the angels have no gender, and the saints have no gender.

The only thing that separates a man and a woman is the flesh, and the spirit, and the soul, are the same,so when they put off the flesh, and obtain a glorified body they are the same essence, and all the glorified bodies are the same.

So there is no marriage in heaven for all are of the same essence, with no distinction to their spiritual make up.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
Rev 21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

The old earth, and heaven, will pass away, because they have been tainted with sin,and there will be a new earth, and heaven, wherein dwells righteousness, the New Jerusalem, where sin has never been, and sin will never be,and rebellion will never rear its ugly head again.

The earth, and heaven, will not be remembered, and will not come to mind, which when the saints, and angels, are in the New Jerusalem, they will remember nothing prior to the New Jerusalem, and it will never come to their mind, and they will feel like they have always been at the New Jerusalem, and nowhere else.

Jesus said, all the former things have passed, and I make all things new,and in the New Jerusalem it is a fresh start, with no remembrance of the past.

The saints will remember nothing concerning the earth, and heaven, that they observed prior to the New Jerusalem.Nothing, natta, zilch, zero, and that is because the old earth, and heaven, are associated with sin and rebellion.

The saints will not remember one thing concerning the earth, and heaven, and they will not know that they ever existed, but to them the New Jerusalem is all they will know. They will not know of their spouses,of their family, and friends,of their pets,of their jobs,of any fun they had,of any misery they had,for they will remember nothing.

In the New Jerusalem, they will not even know that they even had a spouse, will not even come to mind that they were married, and will not know who there spouse was on earth, for they will not remember the earth, and all things associated with it.

When the saints go to the New Jerusalem,it will be like when God created the angels, poof, and there they were, and that is all they know, poof, and there they were, and the saints will be,poof, and there they are,and that is all they will know, poof, and there they are, knowing nothing but what they observe in the New Jerusalem.

My personal guess is that you will of course remember she was your life/he was your husband.

But in the world that will come, such things will have so tiny value in comparison to the new reality in higher dimensions that it will probably have no effect on you. You will love her/him, but you will love others too and you will see God... so you will not think about such last things.

After billion of years (I know, there will be no time in heaven, but just for comparison) between so many glorious transformed women in heaven you will have no reason to think about one of them "we were in marriage for 20 years once in those dark ages before"...

You will not lost her, she will be there too and you will have probably much better and intensive with her in heaven than you can have now, but your past will not be important anymore.

Of course you will see and remember your loved ones as long as they are granted into heaven. But we will be perfected and God will be in our very presence. We will be so drawn to God that everything that happened on earth will be just a memory. Our hearts will be so excited.

We would probably look at our loved ones and hug them, communicate with them, but both of you will be so drawn to the love of God our focus will be on God.

My questions that no one can answer is will we have stuff to do in heaven. And if we are made like angels then will we be serving God as slaves or will we have shifts to serve and then be able to go play and explore. Idk

My mind is stuck on human thinking and probably wont ever grasp what paridise and God preparing a place for me, my rewards in heaven if i get any, the whole new heaven and new earth.

We are told it will be so amazing words cant describe and i am also thinking neither can our minds grasp the amazingness also.

Will we be known as we were known? Scripture says so. However, it also says they are neither married or given in marriage in heaven.........

I don't think friendships will be broken in the resurrection.

Interestingly, Doctor of the Church St. John Chrysostom, in writing on fidelity in marriage said that young husbands should tell their wives, “I have taken you in my arms, and I love you, and I prefer you to my life itself. For the present life is nothing, and my most ardent dream is to spend it with you in such a way that we may be assured of not being separated in the life reserved for us.… I place your love above all things, and nothing would be more bitter or painful to me than to be of a different mind than you. (CCC 2365, St. John Chrysostom, Hom. in Eph. 20, 8: PG 62, 146–147.)

In this homily, where he displays a sublime wisdom toward (and a seemingly very positive view of) marriage. Below is the relevant edited quote (although it's recommended that the entire homily be read) where he instructs young husbands to pray thus with their wives:

"And I pray, and beseech, and do all I can, that we may be counted worthy so to live this present life, as that we may be able also there in the world to come to be united to one another in perfect security ... But if we shall be counted worthy ... then shall we ever be both with Christ and with each other, with more abundant pleasure ..."

In this poignant letter to a young widow, where he comforts her with the possibility (among other things) that she will one day be re-united with her husband in a manner which appears to share significant continuity with her relationship with him prior to his death.

Chrysostom says so many interesting things (e.g. he seems to imply that if she wants this relationship restored with her husband in the next life, she shouldn't remarry etc) that it's recommended one reads the letter in its entirety, but the relevant edited quotes are given below and can hopefully speak for themselves.

It'll be interesting to ask what Chrysostom would say to her if she had also greatly desired children, or what he'd say to a single person who also desired to be in the sort of relationship that the widow and the husband shared (and will apparently share in the resurrection). Also it'll be interesting to know if Chrysostom would've had any problem with there also being a physical aspect to this intimate post-resurrection relationship (he probably would though, given his ascetical leanings). The quotes are -

"But perhaps you long to hear your husband’s words, and enjoy the affection which you bestowed upon him ... Well! the affection which you be stowed on him you can keep now just as you formerly did."

"For such is the power of love, it ... fastens together not only those who are present, and near, ... but also those who are far distant; and neither length of time, nor separation in space, ... can break up and sunder in pieces the affection of the soul. But if you wish to behold him face to face (for this I know is what you specially long for) keep thy bed in his honour sacred from the touch of any other man, and ... assuredly thou shalt depart one day to join the same company with him ... for infinite and endless ages."

"And then thou shalt receive him back again no longer in that corporeal beauty which he had when he departed, but in lustre of another kind, and splendour outshining the rays of the sun ... the bodies of those who have been well pleasing to God, will be invested with such glory as these eyes cannot even look upon."

"Well then submit to this now ... not to receive him back clad in a vesture of gold but robed in immortality and glory such as is fitting for them to have who dwell in Heaven. "

"And if you find the trial very unbearable owing to its long duration, it may be that he will visit you by means of visions and converse with you as he was wont to do, and show you the face for which you yearn.
For all things which we plant in Heaven yield a large and abundant crop ... And if you do this, see what blessings you will enjoy, in the first place eternal life and the things promised to those who love God ... and in the second place perpetual intercourse with thy good husband ..."

"Wherefore desisting from mourning and lamentation do thou hold on to the same way of life as his, yea even let it be more exact, that having speedily attained an equal standard of virtue with him, you may inhabit the same abode and be united to him again through the everlasting ages, not in this union of marriage but another far better. For this is only a bodily kind of intercourse, but then there will be a union of soul with soul more perfect, and of a far more delightful and far nobler kind."

I believe the scripture others have quoted about no marriage in heaven. But I would like to say this, my first husband I loved very much, he was my first love. But he moved home to heaven when he was shot and killed in a robbery. What I had really get over the years the longing to be with him again is the fallen part of me; I really do believe heaven is perfect. We experience the pseudo perfect here on Earth, many times it was experiences with him. I do not think romantic love will even matter in heaven; I know for sure I will not hurt in form.

I heard a preacher I liked once say he went to heave and saw families. I know right then and there he is a false prophet and never listened to him again. It did not line up with Scripture, and if one thing is a lie, it’s all a lie.

It’s not sad we will not be married to our “earthly” spouse, see we are the" bride" of Messiah…. That can be a hard thing to grasp here in this fallen body, but I am confident it will not when we move home.

You will definitely know and love your spouse(s) in heaven along with your family, children and friends.

I don't think it will be necessary to know our former spouses in heaven. We will love everyone and probably get hugs from anyone without a second thought about it. As for marriage, there won't be marriages, but there will be children and we are told that there will be generations. (Isaiah 65:23 They will not labor in vain, nor will they bear children doomed to misfortune; for they will be a people blessed by the Lord, they and their descendants with them.) I can only surmise that God will father these children as he did with Mary.

No. And that because there's good indication that women won't be heaven.
Revelation 8.1: There was silence in heaven.

(JUST KIDDING. Boy, I'm in BIG, BIG TROUBLE.)
