So when God used Deborah to lead His army to victory because the man who should have led them didn't, He was settling for less than best? When God used Esther to save the Jewish people, God was settling for less than best? When God used the Samaritan woman at the well to spread the news of Christ and in so doing her whole village welcomed Him and heard from Him and many believed, God was settling for less than His best? Wow. You have a warped view on God. Or, I guess, you actually have a low view of women.
wait that is what he was saying? please tell me that isnt what he meant because if so that is beyond messed up

That is what I took it to mean. Of course, he could have meant something else, but in context, that is how it appeared. We won't know until he clarifies, I guess. :)

Women are not called to preach. The office of a pastor or a bishop is only to be filled by a man who qualifies for that office.

1 Corinthians 14:32-37 KJV
And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. [33] For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. [34] Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. [35] And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. [36] What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? [37] If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

1 Timothy 2:9-15 KJV
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; [10] But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works. [11] Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. [12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. [13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve. [14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. [15] Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

1 Timothy 3:1-13 KJV
This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. [2] A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach; [3] Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; [4] One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; [5] (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) [6] Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. [7] Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. [8] Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; [9] Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience. [10] And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless. [11] Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things. [12] Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. [13] For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Funny that the little word BISHOP trips so many up, nowhere in the Greek does that word even remotely come close to being translated into the word Pastor.

In fact, if we want split a frog hair 4 ways, the word PASTOR is not found anywhere in the Bible. The word Pastors is found in the Bible and it is used a total of 8x, 7x in the Book of Jeremiah and 1x in the Epistle of Ephesians.

The Greek word for Pastors is poimēn, which means:
a herdsman, esp. a shepherd

Further study shows us that a Poimen was a shepherd in the Near East was responsible for watching out for enemies trying to attack the sheep, defending the sheep from attackers, healing the wounded and sick sheep, finding and saving lost or trapped sheep, loving them, and sharing their lives and to earn their trust.

So if you really want to age war on the female being pastors or not lets also wage war on the title of Pastor given to men. Why are men called Pastors? The Bible never says a man should be called a Pastor, it just states he has given us Pastors.

Gal 3 says there is neither male nor female, we are one in Christ. The Bible says that Jesus is the head of the church and Jesus said in John 10.11 he is what?

[SUP]11 [/SUP]I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Guess what fellas, the word shepherd in the greek and used in John 10.11 is what? it's: poimēn

SO this means Jesus Christ is the shepherd or the Pastor of the Church
!

SO this means that even men should not be using the Title Pastor, because the Bible says that Jesus is the head of the Church and we are the Body and Jesus said in Red he is:

[SUP]11 [/SUP]I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Or better we could say that Jesus said:

[SUP]11 [/SUP]I am the good PASTOR: the good PASTOR giveth his life for the sheep.

So men are also in error for calling themselves Pastor, I mean if we are going to be literal, let;s be literal, and if we are not going to take in account historical or cultural things in account for Paul's discourse in 1 Cor 14, I see lots of men calling themselves something they should not, nor could ever fill. Christ is the head of a church, not a male calling himself a Pastor.

Now that we have that out of the way, lets move on to what the word Bishop means in the Greek Bishop means:
investigation, inspection, visitation and oversight

WHAT you say? Yeah the meaning of bishop is a very far cry and very distinct than poimen which means : a herdsman, esp. a shepherd

Further study says that a Bishop is charged with: overseership, office, charge, the office of an elder, which means they are the overseer or presiding officers of a Christian church. This does not anywhere suggest they preach/teach.

If you would stop sticking to denominational dogma/doctrine and study out the Bishops under Paul, it might suprise you to learn they were not sent to evangelize or preach/teach, they were troubleshooters sent to fix issues in the church.

So Jesus Christ is the Poimen, the shepherd, the pastor of the church, and in HIM there is neither male nor female.....

Actually God says that we are to esteem women as the weaker vessel. Such a position elevates the woman it does not degrade her. Placing a woman in the position of doing what God assigned to the man actually reduces the esteem of the woman. I do not lower women but elevate them as God says to do.

Does God use women to bring conviction of sin upon the man? It would seem that those who are apostate never catch on to this point. I find it detestable to make the woman equal to the man. The woman is rightfully made special by God.

When God brings judgment will He use the woman and the child to lead them?

For the cause of Christ

A weaker vessel led the army of God, huh? Interesting. God uses women for powerful things, for even man is weak. It is the power of Christ and Holy Spirit that matters, not the frail flesh of mankind. In and of ourselves, yes, we are nothing, but through Christ, we can do all things.

Man does not bring conviction on another man or woman, it is the Holy Spirit that convicts of sin, it would seem everyone that is apostate gets that but you, for you continue repeating it in this thread and others.

you know this entire doctrine of woman preaching is a mess, if a woman teaches a nd preaches the word of god is god going to strike her down? at least the gospel is being spread

The Bible is pretty clear in both OT & NT that He is against women in the pulpit. If these women defy God, then they will need to explain it to Him on Judgment Day or at the Great White Throne of Judgment. What we are seeing here is a bunch of women & supporters twisting the Scriptures to serve their purpose or belief.

Actually, it is not clear. It is one verse pulled out of context in Timothy that is used to say that women cannot preach. There are countless examples in Scripture where God not only used women to prophesy and preach and teach, but to lead armies and save a whole race of people and to evangelize.

Then please find that bible passage from God, Jesus that states women have the authority to preach. God has done many things to mold men & women for His purpose but has not stated that man can do what He can without His blessing. How God populated the earth could be considered incestual but He did it for a purpose but man can't commit the act without being sinful. He is God and we can't do what He does.

[h=3]Galatians 1:7-9[/h]King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

It is by the examples and anointings that we see in the Scripture. I gave examples of God using women in roles of authority and such above. Then, if you go to other threads of this same nature, you will see countless examples of NT women who were considered preachers of the word, prophets and the like. I am not going to do your homework for you. I have wearied of defending God's call on here in this realm. I find it amazing how so many love to tell God what He can and cannot do based on the ideas of man.

God can use anybody. To say that women can't teach or preach the Word of God is very wrong. It's discriminating against women, and its not in the bible. If you studiedthe bible you would know that God has used women in a mighty way. The southern baptists are in error. God is not partial. He can use anybody. Men, women, elderly people, teenagers, and even little kids (8 and 9 yr olds) . People need to study about the apostle Paul. Most of the women that worked with Paul were pastors or deacons. They weren't sitting on the sidelines. They was preaching and teaching the word of God. Paul wasn't stupid. It's time for Christians to start believing sound doctrines and stop listening to the devil. Paula White is a good preacher. I don't know to many women preachers that can preach like she can! Preacha24-7

Again! God will use anyone, man or woman, to serve His purpose ... and it does not signify that man can duplicate the act. If so, God would have let it be known in the Scriptures. In order to serve God/Jesus, we find the info in the Bible. If there is not a clear direction, then there is no direction. You are challenging God's Words and you will pay the price for it because you are rebelling against Him. Again!!!!! the Scripture is extremely clear that God doesn't want women in the pulpit. If you think women belong in the pulpit, then you will have to deal with God for your rebellion. You are not arguing with me, you are rebelling against God.

Paula White is about as crooked as they come. She got "run out of town" because of a huge scandal involving her. BTW, the bible has never been about "politically correctness" and never will be. Either you believe in the Scripture or you don't.

Well thank you, absolute voice of authority. Oh, wait, you're not.

I have a relationship with God and I don't rebel against Him, but yes, I do rebel against people like you. Continue to be pompous and believe that you know absolutely what God thinks and then maybe go back and read Job, where God tells people like you to not even begin to presume you know His ways and thoughts.

Amazing that you can contradict yourself. "Yes, God used women powerfully but that doesn't mean men can duplicate His actions." What is that? If God did it, how is man duplicating it? If God ordains it, you would be a fool to call that which God does of the devil. Jesus rebuked the pharisees for that very thing.

And, beware of judgement. It is okay to disagree, but to say that I will have to 'deal with God for my rebellion' is casting judgement.

You know the point of contention is not if....

1. Women can be used or have been used by God to proclaim truth, witness and or even be judge that led the people of Israel during a time frame when most DID THAT WHICH WAS RIGHT IN THEIR OWN EYES as God has used women to do the above listed things and with great success.

The bone of contention is...Are women allowed by God to hold the office of a bishop a/k/a pastor?

It is quite obvious by the scriptures that the qualifications of said office are laid out clearly in Timothy and Titus....

So...do we go above and beyond the use of (adult male) (husband of one wife) and say that it is ok to usurp the boundaries that God has set by the hand of Paul or do we stick with the qualifications that have been given and say that a man is to hold the office?

That is the real question...............

The Bible says I should not judge the person but I can judge its action.:)

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

You pointedly judged me, not my actions. If you were commenting on my actions, you would have said as much. Rather you said:

You are challenging God's Words and you will pay the price for it because you are rebelling against Him...If you think women belong in the pulpit, then you will have to deal with God for your rebellion. You are not arguing with me, you are rebelling against God.

The underlined portion is judgment, declaring/passing sentence.

According to the Bible wisdom is female, and she has a lot to say, you should read Proverbs :) You'll either listen to and obey her, or her adversary, the woman Folly.

Proverbs 1:20 Out in the open wisdom calls aloud, she raises her voice in the public square;

Wisdom sends out her female apostles.

Proverbs 9:3 She has sent out her young women to call from the highest places in the town,

Are females banned from your pulpit? Then there is no wisdom there.
