Recently a siter started a thread directed towards other women and her thread was over run by men posting on it. How about creating a women's only Forum and for parity, A men's only forum? Might be good discuss more sensitive issues.

I know the thread you are referring to. =)

I think the OP on that thread wanted to share that information with both genders, that's why it was not in the women's forum. Men of character (like you!) would have respectfully commented sparingly, not hijacked the thread to put us all "in our place."

The women's forum is only visible by women. I just assumed that the men had one, too. If not, they certainly should.

Shouldn't teens forum be for only teens too? Make that visible to only 13-19 yr olds

I don't go to a chat room. I just click on the Women Only.
However I am not certain we are really safe from prying eyes.
The way I see it, I could be a man and you would not know it.
Now in community I know it can be made private. I don't know
how. I try to keep most personal things to myself, because I
don't want to take a chance of men seeing it.
I agree, men should have their own. But I thought I saw that
last week where men only had their own group ? Maybe it is
my mind playing tricks ? ~

There is no mens group. The suggestion is put up regularly, though it seems like women suggest it more than men. I've seen mens sections on Christian forums. They are rarely used.

Far as why the teens forum isn't isolated only for teens i think is because it gives adults a chance to use their experience and wisdom to help the younger generation. There's nothing really that is something that only another teen needs to read, unlike the womens forums which may have topics that some women would be sensitive about having men involved.
Also, if we're going to take this attitude of isolating certain forums then The Singles should only allow 18+ Single people. Indian forums should only allow east Indians, etc... and once all of these distinctions were isolated from the rest of the forums it would cut down on the available options to post in.

I'd settle for a 'rational persons only' forum. That doesn't have all the nutball conspiracy theories and make believe stories about Obama being a Black Devil.

One man's rational is another man's insane.

What do you mean, David? There is a forum like that, irrational people can't even see it. Ohhhh... never mind. Forget I said anything.

The only issue I see with that, Bryan, is that sometimes the teens need to hear from adults. And, personally, I think one of the greatest damages we are doing in our churches today is separating teens from adults in many, many things. We give teens the feeling that adults don't 'get them' and that they are 'the enemy' without so much as saying it. And, we disconnect the adults, and so you hear things like, "Oh, we've got a great bunch of teens. All on fire for God and whatnot." When, in truth, you have two or three teens on fire for God and all the rest are playing church.

I don't know how to fix this, and truly, I don't know if we can, but, yeah, just saying. Sorry to derail. Moving on. :)
