I'm trying to earn some extra money during the week while working at Butterfly Wonderland. Does anyone have any ideas? I've seen some online survey places but I don't tend to really trust them....


I saw one that was called justanswers.com, which basically is like a search engine but you get paid for it people liked your answers to their submitted questions. The only thing is that I guess you only get paid a percentage, and it would go up the more people liked your answers.

Any ideas from anyone about some legitimate telecommute jobs?

Survey sites do pay, but you could make the same kind of money walking along looking for dropped coins.

[SUB]If you want a legitimate work-at-home job, try sites that advertise jobs, but only pick ones that can be done at home and tell you what your hourly wage will be upfront. (If they tell you have to have their training that takes weeks and you aren't paid for it, it's a scam. If they tell you it's phone sales, it's a scam. The Do Not Call Registry dried up that field for everyone but scammers. If they tell you only get commissions, it's likely a scam.)

Do not make little crafts, (doll tables, stuffed dolls or animals, knickknacks, etc.) That's a scam.

If you find a job on one of those sites that you aren't sure about, feel free to PM me. I've been scammed often enough to know most of the time anymore. But I can tell you the best kind of at-[/SUB]home telephone work is if you act as an answering service for a small business. (Incoming calls, not outgoing.)

[SUB]I can get you started with a home-based business, except you have to spend money to make money, and you probably won't make any money for the first 1-7 years. Make a blog, and I can help you cut it down to 12-18 months before making money, but understand that is a fulltime job. You can just pick your 40 hours during the night and on weekends too.

Yeah I'm trying to make some cool cover art for sketch books and sell those. But other than that I guess...Eh....

Even the one survey sites that I have signed up for so far, they have a veeeery slow turn about rate. Either that or they have very few to no surveys to start as a beginner.

If you make good cover art, check out help wanted ads on writer's messaging boards. Self-pubbed and indie writers are always keeping an eye out for someone who can make a good cover for their books. (Of course, you'll have to learn how to do it first, but it pays well.)

AND, if you can't break in just by saying you can do it, then find some writers who are still working on their books and looking for crits, so you can read enough of their story (and this is assuming you know the book is good enough to sell, so don't waste time with those who can't write well yet, because that could take years before they do publish) to create free cover-art in exchange for a good review of your skills.
