Hey everyone

I got 3 sons and worried one of them is addicted to masturbating. But even if he isn't addicted then I still believe it is totally wrong and I can't allow it under my roof.

I have no idea where to start? Looking for some help and support.

I feel strongly as a Christian he shouldn't do it, especially under my roof.

Sorry Connormm,

There's too much trolling going on today to take your very first introductory post seriously.
Maybe I'm wrong, but trolls have been banned and we're getting homosexual atheists who pretend they're having crisis and wasting our time.

Right now we have some vengeful person spamming, so I will be honest.
Your post sounds like a troll's post.

Regardless whether you are sincere or not, This is where I would start.

Just a normal development for a young man. Not much that you can do about it either. Let go and let God. Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.

The flesh wars against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh.
Once your children are sure they are spiritually born again/ saved, as the video explains, then they will have the ability to resist temptation.
It's not an issue of strength of the flesh.

The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

It's a matter of having a born again spiritual walk with the Lord daily.

A. Crucifying the flesh to start the day.

B. Walking with the Lord in His Word and prayer.
Jesus said, "Sanctify them through the truth. They Word is truth."

C. Get rid of the source of their temptations.
Make no provision for the flesh to fulfill the lusts thereof.
We don't set the dinner where the pets can get to them before we eat. However, parents are guilty of handing their children more temptations than they would find in a topless bar or porn shop in the seedy side of town.

Unsupervised computer access, especially phones, does not lead to self control. Teenagers are not known for self control. School dances, parties and dates were widely known opportunities for parents to make sure their children would throw away their virginity and chances for successful marriages. Promiscuity is the norm in the colleges. High schools are likewise with less opportunities in most cases.

They apparently thought Health class or "the talk" was establishing a good foundation for marriage or something. Even high schoolers know better than that. Parents also know this, but tend to the path of least resistance/ easy way. The schools and health department (birth control pills) seem to be the common solution parents burden their children's lives with. It's the path of least resistance, but the divorces, alimony, diseases, financial, emotional burdens are the long term results for the average child rearing.
I don't know and it's none of my business what kind of parent you are as a stranger. I'm just offering a bit of experience as a teacher and studying this issue. As far as I know you may not ever have any of these challenges, but they are common problems for most.

having been there I can tell you that it is definitely wrong, and will leave scars for the rest of his life. the sooner you stop it the better.
it is not possible to 'make anyone stop, but if they want to stop it is possible to stop, with help and love from those who care about him.

U don't say how old your son is , what would u do to him if he was unable to stop , would u kick him out ?
I believe u r a male , did u never do that when u were young ? Ask all the other makes on here if they ever did it when they were young . Let's c how many honest answers u get .
If u tell him he can't do it in the ( sorry , your ) house then he may end up doing it outside , getting arrested and getting a criminal conviction as a sex offender . Do u want that for your child ?
Puberty , hormones and sexual desire r all completely natural and part of growing up , do u not remember what it was like for u ? Without these natural God given desires the human race would die out .
Maybe have a word with your son about at least trying not to do it too often , about making sure that he does it in private and doesn't make a mess , I believe wearing a sock in an appropriate place is common practice ? If u turn this into an evil desire to b ashamed of , rather than a normal part of growing up , u risk seriously affecting his attitude toward sex and himself and his natural desires , in a very serious and negative fashion that could have terrible repercussions for him in time to come .
As u r a male I would have thought that u would have much more understanding and compassion for your own male
child in this matter .

woah.... um... no, its definitely not natural, um wow!
so what you are saying is thatit is normal? that maybe even we should do it?
no, those desires are for marriage, throughout he bible many were destroyed for this sin. the tribe of benjamin was killed to like 400 men bc of immorality. this is not natural.
um, woah. it is better to never do it, or to take steps toward never, than to encourage it. private?! if you would be ashamed to have others know you do it, it shouldn't be done. yes, but no, and its still nasty. "he would spill his seed on the ground ... 10What he did was wicked in the sight of the LORD, so He put Onan to death."
IT IS NOT NORMAL! sorry.
no, if you don't turn it indo an evil desire to be ashamed of, it will DESTROY his attitude toward sex. within marriage, and make it a source of pleasure.
I think he likely does have understanding. but that don't leas to compassion. take it from someone who is addicted and JUST DID IT AGAIN bc its a habit now, only occasionally, in secret, without making any mess. but it still kills me. I have scars from after doing this, just to wake back up from it.

Ok , I shall give u the advice my father in law gave to my husband when he was a boy , basically this is it : u can only do it in this house , use a sock so u don't leave a mess and NEVER let your mum find out about it . There u go , rather than have your son do it outside and risk arrest , have him do it at home , without his mum knowing , I'm guessing that will terrify him as it did my hubby . The thought of his mum ever catching him or finding out was enough to make sure he didn't do it often .
Rather than have your son's primary feelings towards God being sheer terror as opposed to love , get him to fear being caught by his mum . It worked on my hubby .
If u push your son away from u in this matter , how is he ever going to come to u with any of his other problems ? He won't . Being a parent isn't just about laying down laws , it's about helping and guiding and supporting your children . Don't push your son away from u and maybe even away from God , with your apparent lack of understanding and sympathy for your sons situation . B an understanding father that he can come to when he needs guidance , just as Our Heavenly Father is to us .

You haven't mentioned if your son is a believer. In any event, it's not a good idea to let it go on. It's a practice that thrives in secrecy; it's best to get it out in the open. I understand it's something that's not easy to talk about, but go ahead and intervene and let him know you care about him. He may want help but doesn't know how to ask.

Its hard because the longer and more frequent masturbation is done the harder it is to stop. We can cut back on it though and do it less. Your son must find something that will stimulate his mind in the same way porn does but for the greater good.

King David was often physically absent from his children due to his duties and battles as king, and this contributed to his shortcomings as a father in guiding them properly between right and wrong. The Bible and biblical scholars show that David had a permissive parenting style and was reluctant to discipline his sons, which led to serious problems within his family. For example, his son Amnon raped his half-sister Tamar, but David, though angry, did not punish Amnon because he loved him as his firstborn. This lack of discipline and attention caused tragic consequences, including Absalom's murder of Amnon and Absalom's later rebellion against David. David also showed favoritism and failed to confront or correct his other sons when needed, as seen in Adonijah's self-proclamation as king without David's opposition. While David did provide Solomon with wise counsel before his death, his general pattern was one of being a better king than a father in terms of guiding his children morally and responsibly. His busy life and permissiveness made him distant and ineffective in teaching his children right from wrong in a firm and consistent way. Do you remember Eli, his sons who engaged in immoral behavior by "laying with the women who served at the doorway of the tabernacle", the sons of Eli, named Hophni and Phinehas. The Bible states that these sons committed serious sins, including sexual immorality with the women who assembled at the tabernacle, though it is unclear if these women were prostitutes, tabernacle workers, or worshipers they seduced. Their actions were condemned, and Eli failed to properly discipline them despite warning them of God's judgment. This was a major factor in God's judgment against Eli's family. Dear Suze, I need to tell you that I don't appreciate the picture you chose for your profile. The very picture of your account is a warning sign to a potential reader or responder to know that they will be tempted to sin. Here is the passage from Proverbs 7:6-21 in the King James Version 1611, which describes the woman seducing the man at the corner:
6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,
7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,
8 Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,
9 In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:
10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart.
11 (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:
12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.)
13 So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him,
14 I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows:
15 Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee.
16 I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.
19 For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:
20 He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.
21 With much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.
22 He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;
23 Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life.
This passage vividly illustrates the seductive woman at a corner enticing the naive young man with flattery and an adorned bed of fine linens and spices, warning about the deadly consequences of succumbing to such temptation. Dear Suze, I hope this helps. Go in peace and sin no more. I asked this in the name of the lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Amen.

Psalm 4:4 in the King James Version 1611, which speaks about being still on the bed:

"Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah." (Psalm 4:4 KJV)

This verse encourages reflection and stillness while lying on the bed, avoiding sin by meditating quietly on one's heart. It captures the idea of peaceful contemplation and self-control.

Another related verse is Psalm 63:6:

"When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches." (Psalm 63:6 KJV)

This shows David's habit of meditation and remembrance of God while on his bed during the night.

If anyone has a issue with self pleasure say these verse to them.

These verses show moments of David on his bed, either meditating, being still, or in solemn vow.

The Bible does not explicitly mention self-pleasure or masturbation, but it does provide key principles related to sexual purity, self-denial, and loving others above oneself that can be applied to the discussion.

Jesus, in His life, exemplified self-denial and putting others first. For example, Philippians 2:3-4 teaches: "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." This encourages seeking others' interests above selfish desires.

Sexual relations, according to Genesis 2:24, are designed within marriage between a man and a woman, laying down together and sharing a memory of that union. The reference "a man and a woman laying down and having no memory of what they did together" seems to be a poetic way of describing the unity and intimacy in marriage knit by God.

Masturbation, involving self-gratification, often driven by* lustful thoughts, can be viewed as contrary to the biblical call for self-control, holiness, and focusing on others rather than one's own gratification. Scriptures such as 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 urge believers to honor God with their bodies and flee sexual immorality. Romans 13:14 calls for not gratifying the desires of the flesh but to live by the Spirit.

Therefore, while self-pleasure is not named explicitly as sin, it conflicts with biblical teachings on self-denial, lust, and loving neighbors above self, and believers are encouraged to seek holiness in thought and deed, prioritizing God's kingdom and love for others over selfish desires I hope this helps. God bless you all. Amen.

The biblical story about a man who did not want to have a child and spilled his seed on the ground is about Onan. This is found in Genesis 38:9-10. Onan knew that the child would not be his but his deceased brother's, so whenever he slept with his brother's widow, he intentionally spilled his semen on the ground to avoid impregnating her and producing offspring for his brother. Because of this act of disobedience and selfishness, God was displeased and took his life.

This story highlights Onan's refusal to fulfill the duty of raising offspring for his brother, which was considered wicked in the sight of the Lord [Genesis 38:9-10, KJV and other versions]. God bless you.

Research indicates that sex offenders often engage in masturbatory activities while having deviant sexual fantasies related to their offenses. A study published in Behavioral Research and Therapy found that rapists frequently experience overwhelming deviant sexual fantasies accompanied by masturbation. These fantasies are usually accompanied by negative emotions such as anger and violence, which contribute to the deviant behaviors. The cycle of fantasizing and masturbating appears to reinforce and strengthen deviant sexual interests, which can lead to offending behavior. Due to an increased interest in often sadistic sexual acts, these fantasies persist. It is important to note that all sexual offenders typically have deviant fantasies that accompany their masturbatory habits, and the relationship between fantasy and masturbation is closely linked. This seemingly harmless act of self-pleasure can severely distort a person's grasp on reality by stimulating their mind with lustful thought processes.
