Wow Melita, thats great. I was on the praise team at a church I once attended. I helped sing lead vocals.

I have played on worship teams, sung in choirs, led choirs, led worship teams and led the whole worship ministry in church.

I play flute, and sing lead and backup. I’m just happy when people are praising God, regardless of what the vehicle used to do that!

It was a few people at the church i went to and a small praise group. But what bothered me was when we would
praise and worship, the congregation was not engaged enough. But who am I to judge.

Why do you need a "praise team" in a church?
What is the purpose?
What is the Scripture basis for a "praise team"?

Are you asking on why the name “praise team” or the music ministry team as a whole?

I like both but probably prefer the band. I like a variety of songs and would like a band that encourages participation such as people being able to write songs and the band to sing some. I think it would be neat to hear a song a person from the church wrote whether in the music ministry or congregation.
