so like Paul at Rmns 7 we can plead not guilty and it is precisely because we are not guilty that Christ came to set us free - wincam

So Christ came because we did not need him?
That makes no sense, did you mean something else?

Well, there's true science, and then there's pseudo-science (what some try to pass off as true science). The Young Earth movement is just as much a political movement as the evolution movement is. Neither one is based on true science.

With Young Earth creationists I don't think many here fully understand what all they propose. They propose that dinosaurs are still living among us today!

Uh, no we don't. Please don't misrepresent us.

There are some creationists who suggest that there may still be dinosaurs alive today. Anndd... so? It doesn't add or take away anything to this discussion. Generalization and pigeon-holing doesn't add anything to the discussion either.

Noah's Flood and why it can't be local: Now, please read this!

Many Christians today think the Flood of Noah’s time was only a local flood, confined to somewhere around Mesopotamia. This idea comes not from Scripture, but from the notion of ‘billions of years’ of Earth history.

But look at the problems this concept involves:

If the Flood was local, why did Noah have to build an Ark?
He could have walked to the other side of the mountains and missed it.

If the Flood was local, why did God send the animals to the Ark so they would escape death?
There would have been other animals to reproduce that kind if these particular ones had died.

If the Flood was local, why was the Ark big enough to hold all kinds of land vertebrate animals that have ever existed?
If only Mesopotamian animals were aboard, the Ark could have been much smaller.

If the Flood was local, why would birds have been sent on board?
These could simply have winged across to a nearby mountain range.

If the Flood was local, how could the waters rise to 15 cubits (8 meters) above the mountains (Genesis 7:20)? Water seeks its own level. It couldn’t rise to cover the local mountains while leaving the rest of the world untouched.

If the Flood was local, people who did not happen to be living in the vicinity would not be affected by it. They would have escaped God’s judgment on sin. If this happened, what did Christ mean when He likened the coming judgment of all men to the judgment of ‘all’ men (Matthew 24:37–39) in the days of Noah? A partial judgment in Noah’s day means a partial judgment to come.

If the Flood was local, God would have repeatedly broken His promise never to send such a flood again.

Belief in a world-wide Flood, as Scripture clearly indicates, has the backing of common sense, science and Christ Himself.

I am not even discussing hebrews 12. I am discussing genesis, So not sure what your talking about. I thought we were talking about the flood.

In the last three or four verses of Hebrews 12, it is revealing how said He will "Yet once more" shake not only the earth, but heaven also. That is given about the future shaking God is going to do upon this earth for the end in our future. But it says there, "Yet once more", meaning He already shook the earth once before (but not heaven).

You mentioned how you believe in Noah's day God shook the earth, an event I've not been able to find in Scripture regarding Noah's days.

Uh, no we don't. Please don't misrepresent us.

I'm not representing YEC believers. It was just a matter of time when the belief in existing dinosaurs today would become part of those theories.

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Earth_creationism

"Some creationists say that living dinosaurs (as well as other extinct creatures, such as plesiosaurs), may still survive in isolated spots (see living dinosaur (cryptozoology)), accounting for alleged sightings of lake or sea monsters.[SUP][100][/SUP] Young Earth Creationists occasionally claim that dinosaurs survived in Australia, and that Aboriginal legends of reptilian monsters are evidence of this,[SUP][101][/SUP] referring to what is known as Megalania (Varanus priscus). However, Megalania was a giganticmonitor lizard, and not a dinosaur, as its discoverer, Richard Owen, realized that the skeletal remains were that of a lizard, and not an archosaur."

Before, during, or just after the Flood?

Ask yourself this, how did the fountains of the great deep open up? Was it just a small tremble? Or did the earth shake and open up in a cataclysmic way?

even with a massive amount of water in the atmosphere which many believe the pre-flood world had (producing a greenhouse effect) there could not have been near enough in the air to rain in the earth for a continual 40 days, let alone even come close to flooding the earth, All that water had to come from somewhere.. Where do you think it came from, and how was it released?

YEC's do not need dino's to exist today for YEC to be true, thats just a strawman argument.

Who gives a rip how old the earth is or how we got here? We are here now, and we have bigger issues to deal with than people arguing over the earth's age.

The Gospel matters not one jot if we can't even trust the Bible to say how old the universe or even the earth is.

[h=1]1 Peter 3:15[/h] [SUP]15 [/SUP]But sanctify the Lord God[SUP][a][/SUP] in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;

was the Bible meant to be rocket science? it was written 2 millenia ago for a reason. It's main purpose is spiritual not mathematical. That's for a reason too-- to veil it's power, so people might get away with saying what you just said...

I don't believe the cloud canopy that once covered the whole earth was in place during Noah's day, if that's what your driving at. Noah's time is part of this present world age, since the man Adam.

Again, where's the Scripture proof of that, instead of just your own personal opinion?

It just shows how some want so strongly to prove something is true, they will dream up false evidence. Afterall, that's what evolutionists do too isn't it?

The Gospel matters not one jot if we can't even trust the Bible to say how old the universe or even the earth is.

And then there's the matter of WHEN The Gospel was decided to be sent into this world with our Lord Jesus coming to die on the cross. That decision was made before... the foundation of this world according to God's Word. What does that show that happened before this world?

It reveals that the time of Satan's original rebellion against God was in another time before... the foundation of this world. And because God said He originally created Satan perfect in his ways before he rebelled (Ezek.28), but Satan as "that old serpent" in Genesis was already fallen and in his role of tempter against Adam and Eve, that also shows when and why The Gospel was ordained before this world to come.

It is very fortunate(?) for some of us, that there is a site such as this one, that allows us to cuss n discuss "The WAY", in so many widely, diverse , and enpassioned ways, and "denominational" points of view/s. I could ramble on, and sure others have as well, to how frustrating it can be to come upon a site/chatroom, where, when speaking out, a testimony that is different from the "admin/s" point of view, or beleif, or "belief system"? Yada, yada, yada.

T'was an interesting observation concerning the "contract" with the devil and God, as to the "why" he is on the earth, and is considered "prince" and "ruler" of this current earth age. I likes it, and hadn't considered this. Although, in my mind, such as it is) I think, it's more like the 70 weeks, as can be found in the book of Enoch, and Daniel (probably other places as well), then in the Abrahamic covenant, as to Jubilee Years. Reason being, is that lucifer/beelzebub/satan/that old dragon, and various other renditions er interpretations of the name, was a serraphim, guarding the Mercy Seat of God.......But, I dunno.

As to the eating of that which is "unclean".......Methinks, this is only ONE of the "multitude" of sins that "love" covers, as Paul proclaims. As to what other sins, and how many are in a multitude?.......Hadn't progressed that far yet. As to what sin/s Love DOESN'T cover? Only one that I'm aware of is the UNFORGIVABLE sin. As to others? Methinks, it is a GOOD thing that ALL believers should read, and ponder (selah) the book of Leviticus. And then, ask yerself: "Was the COVENANT made FOR man?..Or, was man made FOR the covenant? (either covenant) Just to help one gain a better perspective on the situation.

Concerning "legalism"?: "Tiz a FAR MORE BETTER thing, that a man in everyday activities, PONDER God, then, ponder everyday activities, while worshipping, or praying TO God. THIS is what happened TO the (forever) Holy Priesthood, in the O.T., and also, what happened, and is still happening to those who hold SO tightly, to Paul's teaching concerning the partaking of meat, offered TO idols. Although, Paul even exclaimed, that THIS/THESE particular "refrainments", was an act that ONLY, he, Paul was going to do, to aid in the establishing of "the CHURCH".

As to the "other" branch? (islam) The Creator God found such favor with Abraham's acts, in his interactions with Melchizadek, that were attributable TOWARDS righteousness, that even at his advanced age (and his wife's as well) would FATHER "many" nations. Sarah, we all should know, didn't quite agree with that which GOD, wanted, and, out came "ishmael". ONLY when she complied, did Issac come forth. It WAS THEN, after Abraham's faithfulness TOWARDS GOD, did HE become JEHOVAH God, IN WHICH, this (forever) Holy Priesthood, would carry on. THROUGH Christ........And, to WHOSOEVER WILL, (believe and accept).....MAY COME! Islam?.....Never got the memo! We Christians? "Were BOUGHT!.........WITH A PRICE!......OUR lives?......Are NOT, our own!

Believing that GOD did NOT create this earth to be UNINHABITABLE, and, changing just ONE word, which was an "grammatical error", from: "...And, the earth "was" void", to: "....And, the earth "BECAME" void", insinuates, that SOMETHING, happened to CAUSE this! As has been posted in earlier posts, this was due TO the "CONSPIRACY" and ATTEMPTED OVERTHROW of GODS' Throne! Afterwhich, HE "destroyed" that PAST earth age. Furthermore, I "contend" that: When giants roamed the earth, as were in day, the BEFORE "Noah's Flood"? Had that raven come back with that olive branch? GOD woulda CONTINUED to destroy the earth...And, the ark also! Tis as simple as black and white!

Concerning the "fallen angels", or nephilium, spoken about in Genesis: Taking to themselves, the DAUGHTERS of men? Read it again, using "Bride of Christ", instead. It SEEMS, that the only things that have changed, are clothes styles.

As far as me?......I'm too old to be "Jonah" anymore, and MUCH too DUMB........TO BE SCARED!
