Jesus didn't die for angels though.

Of course not. That's why the message of 3:15 is bad news for the serpent. I did infer that, no?

There are 2 seeds, the first is corruptible and of the flesh, the second in incorruptible and is of the Spirit.
The flesh strives against the Spirit, that is the enmity between the 2 seeds. Here are a couple of posts that might help....

God was telling the serpent that he will be brought down low to its belly, and which the man will be able to step on and bruised its head, but the serpent would only be able to bruise the man's feet. Before,the serpents, some were as tall as the trees. But God telling them what is going to happen in their future.

Was it the second prophecy in the Bible, after the prophecy of death for eating the fruit? In this one, it is stating there would be a perpetual struggle going on between demonic forces, which would include the devil's servants among man, and mankind. Satan would deal a crippling blow to mankind by wounding the heel, but Satan's kingdom would be destroyed, get a fatal head wound. The bruising of the heel has ultimately to do with Christ being crucified, wounded but not defeated, overcoming death and victorious, a wound of the heel not of devastating nature, while Satan's wound will be a head wound, devastating to Satan and his kingdom. Or, Satan wounds Christ's heel, Christ wounds Satan's head, the latter the much worse for wear, Christ's head intact, but not Satan's. Interesting there's a mortal beast related head wound in Revelation, also, the beast or antichrist Satan's Messiah knockoff.

Genesis 3:15 would start the all out attack by Satan against the promised seed. It starts right away with the killing of Abel. Abel's sacrifice was pleasing to God, he must be the seed that was just promised to the woman...kill Abel. And so through the entire OT, there would be attack after attack. Even the death of Jesus Christ was initiated by Satan to keep the seed from victory.
The only way you can explain all of the bloodshed, war and violence in the OT is through the all out attack on the seed by Satan, and God, doing what He needs to do to protect the seed.

Not my area of expertise, (as if any area is) but I would say they are the unbelievers up to the flood.

One of the first prophecy of the coming Messiah. Jesus is the Seed of Eve that crushes Satan head even though he bites his heel.
Head being symbolic of power and authority.

After Adam and Eve sinned, I suppose it was necessary for the Lord to take this action to save them (and all of us).
