When I was a Moderator for a chat sometime ago. Before anyone could join in a chat room, there would be a little notice box for them to read, with a few little rules. I.e no swearing, no spamming, and so on and so on. they would get the chance to read the notice box before they click to go on into the chat room. I cannot remember what tool they used, but couldn't CC can do with something like that?

I know the rules are very much ignored, and be honest, how many people read the rules page before they actually join in a chat room or even take part in writing in teh forums? So I think as an idea, maybe a little short notice box that everyone has to click after reading before they would enter a chat? It would at least give everyone a little peak of the rules before they chat.

Just an idea...........

IMO most people would just click the "Accept" button without reading the content anyway.

People that post in the forum seldom read the forum rules, especially new members, so it's unlikely that anyone would take the time for a chat bulletin outlining etiquette/rules. It's not a bad idea; it's really the audience, not the content, in this case.

Then perhaps the rules page needs to be taken down? Since no one is reading them? The point to put something on a website is to take note, whether its rules, or a notification. I know people don't read the rules, they dont like to read long sentences. But before someone signs in to a chat, no harm showing a quck box with a few lines of rules for the chat. It don't have to be a long read or a long page full of rules. just a few lines, at least then they cant say they have not been warned or they didn't see any rules.

Otherwise whats the point of RoboOp putting up a page or rules if people not going to read?

Richie, there is no point in rhetoric here. Like I said, it's not a bad idea, just don't expect the majority of users to pay it much mind. This should be in the Suggestions Forum, by the way.

Im not expecting anything, I know this is a suggestion thread, hence why I made a suggestion. I was merely asking what the point having a page of rules when people dont read it, its just a waste of information and writing. you know. but I know admin is working on this site and doing a marvelous job running it. I just think people need to show some respect at least to read some thing that the admin has put for the benefit of the members,

Actually what he said was this should go in the Suggestions section of the forums, not in the User2User Tech section. The thread itself is, technically, placed in the wrong part of the forums. Which is ironic as it's speaking on following rules.

But really why people are still debating this issue is beyond me. An admin has already spoken on it, so at this point there's nothing to argue about.

I aint arguing, Just making a suggestion, It the other people making it a big deal. Not me lol. Fair enough I hold my hands up I put it in the wrong place, Sue me if like lol. And reason some people maybe debating this, is because maybe they have not seen any threads or any debated threads, not everybody can see everything. However. I will make sure in future I will check the forums to see if there is any related threads that I may post on. Just to keep you guys happy, and make you feel at ease and relaxed. LOl

You're not? Because i see you making multiple posts defending your view, then taking then extremist view that if your suggestion isn't taken then the rules should be removed. You made a suggestion, an Admin explained why it won't work, yet you are engaging in back and forth arguments with people who disagree with your idea. You didn't post a suggestion and walk away, but you continued going back and forth.
And one person pointed out it was in the wrong section, which you were apparently unable to understand, so i merely stated in a more simple fashion for you to understand.
Most sites, when you join, provide a link to their set of rules (or show you them directly) and say that by continuing you agree to the rules. People have that chance when they join. Shoving them in their face every time they want to do something will just get more complaints.
To not see a debate thread on this site would require you to not ever look at this site. It's impossible to get away from. Besides your original suggestion was for chat rooms.
But i see, true to BDF form, you've taken the role of being offended and defensive and as a result condescending to those pointing out the truth to you, which you then refuse to see because you're too busy pointing the finger at others.
Now i will be able to enjoy seeing one less spiritually prideful poster on this site.
