For some reason almost every time I click on thread or something a tab opens up and takes me to some christian dating site like eHarmony or a site called Zoosk. it only does this with cc and never on any other christian forums or youtube or something. It is getting very annoying has anyone else had this problem and do you know how to fix it?

Have you checked your machine for malware or perhaps you installed something recently that installed a redirect to this sites as well? I'm not getting anything like that happening at all for myself.

I agree with djness, it's probably because of something that's been installed on your computer, or infected your computer. I don't know why it would be doing that to you only on our site (except that these malware/adware things are designed to be contextual) but I really don't think it's anything on our end.

You could examine the HTML behind the page and see if there's anything linking those sites. Also any javascript. But even if you find something in the HTML, it still doesn't mean it's actually part of the HTML from our server. I've seen malware or adware or whatever that actually adds to the HTML of webpages that you load.

I actually had a similar issue once on our kids computer. It was apparently installed along with some software that we downloaded. Maybe the software even tells you in the license agreement that it will install that adware as well, but no one reads those agreements. Anyway as I recall, we were able to see the adware in the Add/Remove Programs and remove it there.

It's been happening to me since I started coming on CC. I just figured it was suppposed to be that way. I don't know anything much about computers so I just close them up. Well now They pop up on just about everything.

Yeah, I would take it to a tech support person to be honest. I think it may be an ActiveX problem or a javascript problem. That is very odd that there would be a pop-up problem. Then again there may be a hack into the server on this site and someone has entered in this code trying to encrypt a chance at infecting viruses.

I had this very problem when I first joined. It is from a coupons plug-in installed on your browser. It was so annoying til I found that some how it got installed without me knowing. I use Waterfox (64bit Version of Firefox). And I would assume you also use firefox.

Hope that helps =]
