The inventor of Tetris has already made plans to be buried in a separate, private gravesite when he dies. There is concern that if he is buried in a graveyard with other deceased, as soon as the casket is lowered all the graves will vanish.

Honored Posters all, I need some help please!!
I have always wanted to try Linux , so...
Just installed ubuntu 23.10 desktop , kernel 6.5.0-21.
All went smooth--- except
1) Display is not full screen (has a full green border).
2) Aux line in (light blue 3.5mm jack) shows signal but no sound.
speaker test is fine, volume controls work fine.
I really like the O/S, but as a newb i am not going to go poking around
blindly.
Any help much appreciated!!

I'm sorry I don't know the answers to your questions, but let's see if we can summon a few users who might know. :)

No idea bro. I haven't used Ubuntu in more than a decade.

I'd say just try different distros until you find one that suits you. Default recommendation is Linux Mint, Cinnamon edition. It's my daily driver, a LOT of people seem to like it, and it has a help chat already installed and configured to auto-connect to Linux Mint help chatroom when you try it.

Sorry. That may not seem helpful. "I have no idea how to help you with THAT, but I can tell you that you should try THIS." But it really is the best advice I can give. Linux Mint (Cinnamon) is pretty smooth.

There are of course others you can try. Bunsen Labs, Lubuntu, Puppy Linux... But I'd try Linux Mint first. If you don't like it, well... It's free, so you didn't lose anything, and you can move on to Bunsen Labs or something.

Linux mint is the easiest to start on probably. Ive used ubuntu and never had any weird issues like that. Sparky linux is a good one. But I am going to suggest manjaro. I had the latest mint and I hated it. I run artix but its really not for beginners.

Just look and choose the desk top you want. Plasma is good. Cinnamon is good. Gnome also. xfce also.

I'm really into the Linux operating systems. I don't mean that I'm an expert by any means. But it has, for the most part, replaced Windows in my computer life. I think it would be cool to meet more Christian Linux users.
That's exactly what I'm wanting to do sometime in 2024

But, I do have a couple of programs designed for Windows that I'll have to be able to use on a linux system.

I hear there is a program that can be put on Linux called "Wine" that allows programs made for windows to be able to run on Linux.

If you know of any good resources where I can learn more about this, please let me know
