You are not honest. The OP said nothing about guaranteeing eternity...........

"secures eternity"

Jesus Himself said as much...........How many times do I have to post the Scripture before you guys stop misrepresenting what I said? There is no honesty among you.

Matthew 7:21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
The will of Him that sent me-->BELIEVE ON THE ONE WHOM HE HAS SENT!

The great "cop out" for being a bench warmer........

Yes, the Holy Spirit equips, prepares and gives us the strength to do the Will of God...

BUT WE STILL GOTTA GET UP, GET OUT AND DO IT!

That pesky free will thing..........because there are some here who pay lip service, but remain on the sidelines doing notadarnthing to grow the Kingdom
Guess you have nothing to say apart from baseless accusations? You have no idea what I do and there is no way for you to know.

Now are you are hearer of the word or a doer of the word? Obviously you must hear before you can do but for him to know right and not to do it to him it is sin.

Not one part of the body is above another. All the parts work together. Who are you to condescend and endeavor to make others feel inferior?

Time we get back to our first love.

Re 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.

So you believe that choosing to accept Christ is NOT a personal decision but one God makes for you...?
Inquiring to learn or just to engender strife?

How did you come to know Christ?

I've been to John 16:8-11 have you?

Ephesians 2:8) For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9) Not of works, lest any man should boast.

(but, you might wanna leave out this other part)

10) For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Come on Roger, set His straight!

What I would "like" is for these people to own up to the Truth that God has WORK for us to do here on earth, and to get off their butts, quit crying like a bunch of babies about not having to work, and get out there and DO WHAT GOD HAS PURPOSED THEM TO DO.

How about you?

You would have a lot less problems if you just learned the scripture in context and not keep pulling out verses to proof text a pet doctrine.

Mat 7:21 is about false professors not obedience to maintain salvation.

Mat 7:15 ¶ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 ¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

What is your problem? Never have I ever said we should not yield ourselves to the service of our Lord and Savior. What I have objected to is this foolishness that one can become lost if they do not measure up to some unknowable standard that is applied in a completely arbitrary fashion.

An old evangelist once told me that if you chuck a stone into a pack of hounds the one that yelps is the one that got hit.

I think you have a burr under your saddle because it's your short comings that you are impressing on others.

Those who are serving the Lord are not so quick to judge others on their service. Let Jesus minister to each believer in His time and fashion because He is infinitely better equipped to do it than you or I.

Thank you for your kind words. And know that we are not alone.....there are many here who believe just as I do, they just don't want to be bothered with the assaults that will come their way if they speak out. And I do not blame them for that. These disputationists are the ONLY THING I have found that can spoil the taste of a good cup of coffee.

you have a point. I've seen it.

when they come swarming out of their 3000 page document, run for cover LOL!

it will almost always come as a personal attack, or a twist on what was really said

pretty sure we will have to answer for that one day if we persist in it

I do believe Jesus is serious in what He says

as serious as hell fire...but of course now we have universal salvation and Jesus did it all so we don't have to do anything but think about what color to paint our mansion

there is no confusing works and obedience yet it is done

every

single

time

I know what you mean. I see the dust is settling, and that's a good thing I suppose. I do not want my friends to get dragged into this. They are good, God fearing, tender hearted believers, and I don't want them to have to put up with this stuff from these guys. It ain't nothing but a thang to me........God bless

However, be assured: I stand firmly behind what I stated. What I stated is Biblical Truth, and what I stated is what Jesus Himself stated, and i will always stand behind Him.

Being obedient, and good works HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH "works salvation." They have to do with what we are Commanded to do.

Then why did you open a can of worms by asserting that eternity (presumably eternal life) is SECURED by obedience?

Amen murder is still a sin

Sexual immorality is still a sin (physical or mental)

Coveting what others have is still a sin

etc etc,, And so is not being obedient to Gods commands no matter what they are (NT OR OT)

thats not the issue. the issue can we maintain our salvation by being obedient to these commands, and if we can, the question must be answered, How good is good enough.
It is very important to follow the conversation. That really WAS the issue in my response to his post #78.

As for the "slander" part.......those of you here began that at the very first part of this Thread......and then you cry when you get it back? too too funny.......

lol. your the same old person. You can not stand it when someone stand up to you. Thats why we have never got along. I have called you out on what your teaching, and as you have proven, You do not like it.

Notice how you did not even respond to my post. I am sure when I get to it, Your goin gto do what you always do. and go back to say the same thing. which I already refuted.

You, and others here (and, yes, I am breaking my word by responding.....so sue me) KEEP trying to put it off on me.
You can chose to respond or not. But I do not call what you just did responding, see it you bveing on the defensive, When you respond to people. You point out where they got it wrong, You say, Ok I see what your saying here, But what you said there, I do not agree, and this is why.

Again, thats why we but heads, Your no better then Peter Jens or any of the other people who can not stand it when people call them out.

Put on your big boy pants and take it up with Jesus. He is the one who said it! I quoted what He said!
Jesus put my righteousness on, I can not live on my righteousness, I know thats hard for you to understand. But hey, What do you expect.
Here...........deal with what Jesus said!

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter int
o the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

see what I mean people? this man did not even read what I said, I have twice now (in fact before it got heated because he can not stand me, ) said those who have faith WILL DO GODS WILL.

in fact here you go.

I will go even further, and say there is no one who TRUSTS GOD who is NOT OBEDIENT.

It has nothing to do with belief in being obedient, it is faith in Christ. You do not say you TRUST someone, but do NOTHING they say. all that proves is you never trusted them to begin with.

Deal with it?

THOSE WHO ARE SAVED WILL WORK!!
1 John 2: [SUP]4 [/SUP]He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. [SUP]5 [/SUP]But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. [SUP]6 [/SUP]He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

1 John 3:
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Whoever commits sin also commits lawlessness, and sin is lawlessness. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. [SUP]6 [/SUP]Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]Little children, let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. [SUP]8 [/SUP]He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil. [SUP]9 [/SUP]Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God.

1. It says those who are going to heaven DOES GODS WILL. (NOT MIGHT DO GODS WILL) which I staed earlier, those who have faith WILL WORK. not your nonsense of might work

2. The people in that verse did works in Jesus name, The cast out demons, They prophesied in Jesus name, and they did MANY WORKS in jesus name, How well did those works save them? THE DID WHAT YOUR CLAIMING IN THIS THREAD WE SHOULD DO!! but what was their probelm?

3. JESUS NEVER KNEW THEM, do you know the word never and what it means, IT MEANS NEVER. they were NEVER SAVED PERIOD, they did not HAVE SALVATION and not do enough works to keep it, THEY NEVER HAD IT!!

4. It also said they CONTINUE IN SIN. why? John answered, He who sins has NEVER seen God or NEVER KNOWN God. Their works of righteousness did not save them, keep them saved or maintain their salvation.

now here he is a second calling me out saying I do not believe it. can anyone read the above and say I do not believe a child of God walks in obedience?

Now, call Jesus out and tell Him how He does not understand Grace. Shoot, He REALLY expects us TO DO SOMETHING? Boy, is He confused about Grace......right?

Go ahead......call Him out!

Nah, I believe what he said, and have proved it a few times, so instead what I am gonna do, is I am gonna call you out for again being a LIAR.

I no more expect you to say your sorry than any of the other people pushing works do. But I guess I could pray, some here have repented. can you find humility in your heart?

well, just before I go...I don't care for your intimidation tactics...you REALLY have the wrong number if you think you are going to take me to task..ridiculous ...truly ridiculous...when someone...ANYONE...DEMANDS attention in this forum

your question is wrong to begin with which is why I said what I did

NO ONE said what you say they said

no one...which is why you cannot prove that someone did...so you come back and demand instead of being the person you wish you really were (that loving and kind Bible teacher who tries to see the other side)

you remind me of the big bad wolf in the 3 little pigs

you make up words to ask a question that no one should answer because it has not been stated in this thread and then you get all self righteous and demand an answer...next you will say you won because I did not answer you

but why would I answer something you made up when you choose to be untrue?

and this is why I never ever get involved in that almost 3000 page thread wherein this type of blind aggression continues with good people either quitting or being bannned

don't address me with demands if you expect a response

'slong

I never gave you a demand, I gave you an option. I asked you if you could answer or not. Your refusal to answer an easy question is on you.

well I guess I should have known better than to expect you to be honest.

1. I do not have to prove ANYONE IN THIS THREAD said we must obey the law to be saved. So since I never said they did, thus your resistance just because I will not show who did is non sense. and a non issue.

2. The op says we must obey the law of Jesus, and by doing this, we assure salvation.

I asked what is the difference between those who demand law must be followed (you know who they are, they are all over this chatroom, even if they have not pocked their faces in this thread yet.) and what elephant here is saying (demand the law of Christ must be followed)

Can you answer or not?

I did not say you were wrong when you said no one here was saying the law was required. You took me wrong (as you usually do)

can you answer or not? Is there a difference?

Well, given the plethora of attacks I am fending off.......pardon me, and forgive me for seeing your comment as just one more dagger to the back........sigh.......

Go and enjoy your shopping.........mayhaps, in a few minutes I will do the same........
since when is giving a different view an attack?

If you think that is an attack maybe you need to go find a chatroom where people do not disagree with you.

Who was it that said I need to put my pants on??????

seems you need to put some on yourself
