It is no joke, people come on here all the time who have been oppressed by spirits.
You can also join a forum based on werwolves and one for vampires. Tons of people claiming they are vampires and how they live with it etc etc.

Metal illness is a very serious issue in this country, to play fun on it is sick and offensive. If these people are serious they need help themselves.

What does mental illness have to do with the topic at hand? There are real angles, and there are fallen angels if you read
your bible.

I have an interesting story from when I was a freshmen in college. I went and saw the first "Paranormal Activities" movie and when I came back to my dorm room later that night I was attacked by a demon. Long story short I saw and heard it scream (with my eyes open, and small light on in the room) multiple times and then the next day told one of my friends who was not a christian about it. He of course didn't believe me so later the next day at night I told him to come in my room and I would turn the light on that I had on the previous night and see if anything happened. Sure enough the demon came back and it scared the crap out of him. Later that night I thought the demon was coming back when I was laying down to go to sleep ( you can feel it, its like your body is scared but you don't know why) so I decided to go next door to my friend who saw the demon and sleep in his room bc I thought maybe the demon was haunting the room and not after me. Wrong! After about 10 min it came back and this time my friend was really scared. He asked me a bunch of questions like if it would possess me and I told him that since I'm a christian it can't but that it can scare me and oppress me (five senses see it, smell, feel...etc). Then he told me that he didn't want it to try and hurt him so he wanted to get saved. I then led him to christ. The peace in the room after that was unbelieveable, it was truly like being in the presence of God and I will never forget it. However, That night we slept with the light on and nothing else happened except i kept waking up feeling like something was grabbing at me but couldn't quite get me. Kind like a dog trying to tear you apart but the chain stops them right next to you. I didn't think much of it at the time but the last four years have been terrible. It seems like nothing goes right and I still occasionally get attacked by a demon. I may not have realized it then but I made a huge sacrifice for God. God didn't rescue me when I prayed to him the first night and for good reason since I led my friend to christ the next day however God still hasn't told the demon to stop attacking me. My question is first if anyone has experienced a demon attack? Secondly, how do you keep the faith when God threw you in the fire and still hasn't came to get you? Or is that the nitty gritty part of being a christian that preachers don't like to preach? For example, all the desciples lived terrible lives of torture and persecution for following God and is that what I should expect for embarassing the devil and using a demon attack to lead someone to christ.
I myself have been tortured by devils alot as a youth but was baptized in the spirit very young but when i reached my teens I began praying and learned what God had given me true power from above to cast out devils , I can even do it in my sleep because it is the Holy Ghost doing it praying and fasting is a big essential along with the spirit praying go ahead and message me I am glad to help you with that issue ..

One thing you and many others are missing is that although it is true that you can cast out demons through jesus christ, it is still up to him to do it. If God would have cast out the demon the first day, then I might not have led my friend to christ on the following day. It almost seems like people on here are judgemental and respond as if I didn't have faith in God to rescue me. Maybe the only way for my friend to come to christ was through a paranormal experience and God used me to facilitate it. In the end, I don't blame myself for a lack of faith for God not kicking the demon out immediately, I gained a deeper knowledge of God, saw the devil get beat right in front of my face, and helped facilitate that defeat by leading someone to christ. Who needs angels to rescue you, why can't you beat the devil? God gives you the tools and sometimes he makes you take the test with those tools

Thanks for the encouragement. I haven't watched any scary movies or anything overtly doing with demons or stuff like that since this all happened. I believe that I have gotten through most of the trial, but an event like that has a lasting impression on you. I have slept with a night light on for the last few years and am not ashamed of it. The hardest part to reconcile is the fact that God turned his back on me and I don't think I will ever fully recover from it. Even Jesus was forsaken on the cross so why would we as christians falsely believe that God will always rescue us? In mathew 27 : he cried out to God 'Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?' that is, 'My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?' " (Matthew 27:45-46, NASB) In some ways I'm glad God put me through the test alone bc that shows the faith he had in me. Kind of like the faith he had in Job when the devil tempted him although I'm not nearly as faithul to God as Job was and don't deserve to be in the same sentence

mental illness is not a joke, but this thread is!
Talk about burying your head in the sand! You can't make something go away by denying it. I also think that learning the truth about it is not opening ourselves up to demons, but giving a better understanding of them so they cannot influence us.

There are very important things we all need to know about demons now that demon activity has so increased in our cultures, but if we are learning for the excitement it brings it is better to know nothing about demons.

Here are some things we all need to know: the only way a demon can enter us is by accepting the sin the demon wants to bring into our lives. We have to agree to having the demon. It isn't true that being a Christian is protection, our protection is in repentance and turning to Christ. Man cannot reason with demons, it is only Christ who has dominion of them. Possession is rare, and a careful examination is needed to determine it, including a physician to rule out anything physical. Mental illness sometimes opens the door to demons. Even those who are possessed by a demon usually reserves areas in their life that they let God control. These people can be helped by experts trained in the skill of handling possession. These people always work through Christ, their work is only done in the name of Christ. If a possessed person has given up their whole self to what the demons suggest they are beyond help. Possession is not common, and total possession is even less common.

Earlier I wrote a long reply to his situation.... Got toward the end and
it came to me we are possibly dealing with two in one here. Judging
from what has been written. Something is not right.

Red Tent: You are wise and have written truth ~ God bless you and
we can agree he will be helped. BTW.... I deleted what I had written.

I was very young. They came to my house, played strange music, and banged things around. I prayed the Lord's prayer and they were gone in a pinch.

Nothing before or since. Though I am pretty good at detecting a dark presence when it exists. I never really draw attention to others, but simply pray for protection. They go away. Always.

Well I tried to cast the demon away in Jesus name and the demon did not leave. It all depends if it is Gods will for that demon to be removed. The hardest thing to deal with now is the fact that God said no and abandoned me. Being alone with a demon and God not helping you is like being a pow behind enemy lines with no support. One day I will be blessed for enduring though, in this life or the next.

I prayed, said the lords prayer, and listened to christian music and it still didn't leave. The demon just retreated to a corner of the room and stayed there until I stopped and once I stopped it attacked again. It has to be Gods will for the demon to be removed, it wasn't in my case.

I don't even know where to begin with you. According to you its GOD's will for you to be attacked by a demon and GOD has left you and forsaken you and told you no deliverance? You do know that you are calling GOD a liar now? The Bible says God will never leave you nor forsake you.

Did you command the demon to leave in the name of Jesus? Did you plead the blood of Jesus, Did you tell the demon you are an overcomer by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony? Do you not udnerstand that you must use the name of Jesus, its not in your human power to battle this thing.

Playing Christian music and saying the Lord's prayer is not taking authority over this demon, it is playing with it.

So we have 2 things to consider concerning your situation, either you have no knowledge of the word or you like your demon and want him to stay close to you, because its obvious you are letting the strongman of lying spirit and fear to invade your mind and your thoughts.

Joshua 1.9 says:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Deuteronomy 31.8:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Hebrews 13.5
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Phil 2.10-11
[SUP]10 [/SUP]That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
[SUP]11 [/SUP]And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

James 4.7
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Luke 10.19
[SUP]19 [/SUP]Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

I had a weird experience in college back in 1982. My college had booked a hypnotist to give a demonstration (I think it was for Halloween) and for whatever reason I walked into the auditorium after the show had already started. When I opened the door to the auditorium and stepped in I was hit by a wave of cold, negative energy the likes of which I've never experienced since. It was so unreal. To make a long story short, one of my roommates had volunteered to be hypnotized during the show and I believe he brought "something" back to our apartment. One of our other roommates started waking up in the middle of the night screaming. He said "something" kept sitting on his chest and trying to suffocate him. And one night I was awakened by a noise. I put on my glasses to take a look around and saw a ghostly apparition standing by bed. I wasn't saved back then so I shouted an expletive at it and it eventually sailed out the window. Thank God I haven't experienced anything like that since. But my advice to any of you out there thinking it might be fun to see a hypnotist....don't do it.

Yes! I have been physically attacked by demons that came thru others. I gave my life to Christ and now I don't have the same fear but still some PTSD from being attacked so much of my life. I pray from the moment I awaken until I go to sleep. I never wanted to believe in evil but now I understand it is real. Demons have super human power. The host must make a choice which can be challenging if they have been tormented since very young and the child may believe the deceptions of the devil to be ones friend and promise protection from an evil world. "Where two or more are gathered".... The devil has no power so "pray incessantly"

My brother-in-law has had something like that since he was a child. He says that he wakes up with it on his chest and its trying to choke him. After they were married, my sister heard him choking and when she looked over at him she saw it. She said that it ran up the wall and went into a dark corner. When she turned the light on it was gone. My mom has even seen something like a dark orb (not sure if that's the right word) running through their (my sister's) house.

So I am new here and have exp things in my life I never knew could be real or even tangible. I grew up in church my parents are very religious people so we went 3 days a week. I hated it. when I became of age I moved out got pregnant and got abused for 3 years. Well moving into future, When my daughter was 3 she got an invisible friend (Still gives me the willies) his name was Jack. Hayleys behaviour became secretive, Violent, mean. So I would ask her Hayley why did you do that? "Jack told me to" Well where is Jack Hayley? "Behind the door mom he is hiding from you" WHy? "Because he hates you" This happened on a daily basis...then we moved into my parents home...things got worse...she suddenly knew what I was doing all the time and would stare at corners and laugh and have nightmares constantly. Then it started with me. I started to exp frightening things like random doors opening or I would feel a presence follow me everywhere. then the night terrors started. One particular time I woke because my face was being slapped repeatedly and I was screaming but nothing came out...when it was over I ran upstairs to my mother and she saw hand marks all over my face, she immediately pray for me...I slept on the couch for weeks I was terrified. A month later I got born again, straightened my life out. Then I fell into a heavy depression and got into drinking and stuff. I met my current husband who I moved in with and the night terrors started again except they were worse. MY husband would freak out because my body would be bouncing on the bed and I would be screaming but nothing I ever did would make it stop, It would end when it would end. I spent 3 yrs of my life like this. heavily medicated because the doctors said it was anxiety...But I knew it wasn't. finally after all that we decided to move..but it followed, I started reading my bible again and an old friend from church messaged me on fB and said "Jen something is wrong isnt there? I felt like God wanted me to pray for you and reach out to you" I told him everything and he prayed for me. brought me back to the Lord and ever since I have been the best CHristian I can. I am always growing and learning and making mistakes but ever since then I have been nightmare free and "Jack" hasn't been around. I believe all that was demonic it just had to be...

every time you say a negative word
every time you loose your temper
every time you say "shutup!"
every time you hide from your mom or your wife
every time you eat between meals
every time you overeat
Id say about 490 times a day you get attacked.
