One thing I am fairly confident of.....Nothing of this world will be in the Kingdom of God......John was clear...if it is of the world it will pass away with the world.......just saying............!
I tend to agree with this.

This thread is unbelievably sad. Heaven is about Christ and his glory, not to gratify our earthly pleasures. Church service is a glimpse of the joy of heaven, together worshipping and fellowshipping in the Lord. If heaven is about having fun with video games, I'd rather give it up.

Just to to sit at the feet of Christ for all eternity is far better than what you said. We won't be focused on loved ones, pets, or anything of this world, but on the beauty of God's holiness on grand display, what more could you ask? If he isn't our deepest joy, our grandest thought, our ever-increasing happiness, we need to know him better. When you go to the Grand Canyon do you do anything other than be enthralled at the sight? I don't often quote John Piper, but, "...we were made to experience full and lasting happiness from seeing and savoring the glory of God. If our best joy comes from something less, we are idolaters and God is dishonored. He created us in such a way that his glory is displayed through our joy in it. The gospel of Christ is the good news that at the cost of his Son's life, God has done everything necessary to enthrall us with what will make us eternally and ever-increasingly happy, namely, himself."

If God loves his glory more than anything, then how much should we be in love with it? He saved us to share in what makes him happy, and video games aren't even on that list.

Our view of God in this day and age needs to be recovered.
Lots of good points in this post, amen brother.

Video games, board games, card games are how I bond with people. It may not seem the most exciting for most people but it is for me.
Bond, as a sealant? God already bonded with you. He's got bigger plans on how he will spend his time with you, and you will love it all. It's not like you have to develop a relationship with God. He's already developed it. He chose us. He wanted to. You are now free to be you with him and let him be with you. Don't even have to wait for heaven.

Personally, I don't regard spending more time in one place MORE than I spend with the Lord, as considered as idolizing it . I've spent 8 to 10 hours a day at my job, and not 8 to 10 hours a day with the Lord...do I then idolize MONEY over the Lord? I've spent hours on Facebook and here that I have not spent on the Lord. At night, in prayer do I then kneel to pray before my phone and ask the phone to hear my confession and ask forgiveness? As much as I LOVE my husband, I wouldnt say I "idolize" him like I give myself to Jesus. I think many of us spend too much time in areas we should spend LESS time in, but Thats not to say we idolize it. Maybe I just see idolizing a different way than others. I never feel far away from the Lord no matter what I'm doing. Oftentimes Jesus guides me away from what I'm doing too. Its a connection that cannot be broken. No matter what ...He is always there.
Heeee's here! You aren't walking away from the Lord when you go to work. You go with him. He's there. You don't walk away from him to go on FB. He's there. You don't walk away from him to come here. He's here. Enjoy him. He's good company, even if there is silence between you two. (And there usually isn't. He's the one telling you, "Hey! You're paid to do the work, so don't go sluffing off. Do it for me! lol)

ok. a bit off- topic, but OwzK, have you been to Zipworld? (I reeeealllly want to go there some time)

https://www.theguardian.com/travel/...est-underground-zipline-course-opens-in-wales
Odd question, but if we zipline or skydive in heaven, how thrilling will it be? No sense of danger, because we can't die, get hurt, or cry. No longer an adrenaline rush, because what's the point of adrenaline? All in all, we can do the same thing just to see whatever is to see, minus equipment. Would you even want to?

but if God ALONE is to be our joy, you are not allowed to enjoy the Grand Canyon either, because you should be sitting in your room, alone 24-7 focusing on God, not nature.
New heaven and earth. Will the Grand Canyon still be there?

And, honestly? Nature was made by God so it is enjoying what God has done.

If you worship God while playing video games, they might be in heaven, yes :D

I would like to see animals there. Not even "my animals" just "animals" I'd like to see them in peace in glory, and tell them that this is how it's supposed to be, and tell them how sorry I am for botching up the world they live in :/
I'd like to see a lion literally laying down with a lamb. When the animals disembarked the ark, God gave them a new sense -- fear of Man. I'd like to see animals without that.

I'd also like to see animals on other worlds, if God took the trouble to do for those other worlds what he did for us.

So your saying we're sad? I Don't care if you disagree but no need to be rude about it.

When I was 3 years old and I lost my favorite ring, my mom took me in her arms as I cried, and I asked what must be a Christian parent's least favorite question: "will I find it again in heaven?"

Instead of explaining severely that I didn't need to think about "Stuff" in heaven and that that was a worldly thing to say, she simply told me that heaven was a place where there was no sadness, so if I needed it to be happy it would be in heaven.

Now, I don't think for a moment that that ring is going to be in heaven, but her point remains: for our earthly minds, some things seem impossible to live without. So it is ok to tell our earthly minds that "If you need it to be happy it will be there" Realizing that if it is NOT there, your mindset will also have changed. :)

I am sure nature shows the beauty of The Lord too...that's why I used that picture. You are enthralled by the glory of God everywhere, even when you watch the sunset. Someone once said that you cannot turn around without bumping into it.

I can't speak truth without being called out as rude.

Yes! I just think that's amazing. And ever since reading Narnia, I've wanted lions to be tame so I could come up and bury my face in their mane, as Lucy and Susan did to Aslan. :D So I'd hope to do that, as well.

Just think...Heaven has angels, strange living creatures, cherubim, Seraphim etc.....no telling what awaits us in the kingdom

and for the record...you did not hose it up for them....ADAM did that when he sold out for the knowledge of Good and Evil by eating from the forbidden tree

I posted a similar thread a while ago. I asked if there were video games in heaven and if there where would we even care if there was. Could you see Jesus and I chilling on a couch eating Doritos and drinking mountain dew while playing mario kart? Or does that sound like something he wouldn't do. My question is if you could see anything in heaven what would you want it to be? Oh and if you want to give me "video games are evil" do it on another thread, this is just for fun.
i didnt read all the posts im sure this was covered but video games are false idols

ive been blessed and helped removing my desire for them

the only i still battle with is yugioh duel links

ive deleted my accounts but i went back to it a few times
used to play dozens games more than i studied the Word

just pray for God to increase the Holy spirit in you in Jesus name and your desire for them to die to you

it seems to be more a process than instantanious thing for me

(same with anime and sports like MMA)

If video games are Idols, meaning a mere television is an Idol too. If I may ask. Does one worship a video game or ask a video game to forgive sins?.. that was just an innocent question...
