I posted a similar thread a while ago. I asked if there were video games in heaven and if there where would we even care if there was. Could you see Jesus and I chilling on a couch eating Doritos and drinking mountain dew while playing mario kart? Or does that sound like something he wouldn't do. My question is if you could see anything in heaven what would you want it to be? Oh and if you want to give me "video games are evil" do it on another thread, this is just for fun.
.

Heaven has all the video games,

Hell only has pong and asteroids.

I doubt if Jesus would drink caffeinated beverages or could be beaten at any video games.

The is the Bible Discussion Forum,
I don't think we're allowed to have fun here.

So, in the spirit of debate, contention, and all normalcy,
I do not think we'll see video games in heaven...
I think they'll be in that other place.

Especially candy crush.

And I'm not necessarily admitting I know what candy crush is.

This thread is unbelievably sad. Heaven is about Christ and his glory, not to gratify our earthly pleasures. Church service is a glimpse of the joy of heaven, together worshipping and fellowshipping in the Lord. If heaven is about having fun with video games, I'd rather give it up.

Just to to sit at the feet of Christ for all eternity is far better than what you said. We won't be focused on loved ones, pets, or anything of this world, but on the beauty of God's holiness on grand display, what more could you ask? If he isn't our deepest joy, our grandest thought, our ever-increasing happiness, we need to know him better. When you go to the Grand Canyon do you do anything other than be enthralled at the sight? I don't often quote John Piper, but, "...we were made to experience full and lasting happiness from seeing and savoring the glory of God. If our best joy comes from something less, we are idolaters and God is dishonored. He created us in such a way that his glory is displayed through our joy in it. The gospel of Christ is the good news that at the cost of his Son's life, God has done everything necessary to enthrall us with what will make us eternally and ever-increasingly happy, namely, himself."

If God loves his glory more than anything, then how much should we be in love with it? He saved us to share in what makes him happy, and video games aren't even on that list.

Our view of God in this day and age needs to be recovered.

but if God ALONE is to be our joy, you are not allowed to enjoy the Grand Canyon either, because you should be sitting in your room, alone 24-7 focusing on God, not nature.

Ugh candy crush. I wouldn't consider it a video game or any form of entertainment for that matter. If you want a good puzzle game play Dr.Robotnics Mean Bean Machine for the Genesis.

Heaven is all about eternally worshiping God and enjoying him forever. If you think it's all about you, that's a problem.

If you worship God while playing video games, they might be in heaven, yes :D

I would like to see animals there. Not even "my animals" just "animals" I'd like to see them in peace in glory, and tell them that this is how it's supposed to be, and tell them how sorry I am for botching up the world they live in :/

I don't think people realize how perfect everything in heaven will be, there will be no need or desire for video games, the best looking video game of all time that hasn't even been made yet won't look a fraction as good as things in heaven, we live in a fallen world, that's why some people like video games so much, it's a way to escape reality, but in heaven people won't need to escape reality, we'll trully have life with the Lord.
Agreed.

I have a garden out back in a 14' X 14' yard. I'm rearranging it now, (cement yard, so all the plants are in containers), and really enjoying the "what goes where best" thingy at this level of creativity. I chose the plants. I chose the containers. I chose the structures (well, hubby chose the grill and the table lol) and even chose ornaments. But, the reality is I didn't create a thing. Someone else made everything out there but the plants, and God made the plants.

Meanwhile, we live in a universe so vast, we can't even see all the planets, suns, moons and other objects zooming through space. Even if we can see another planet, we've only seen what is on one other planet through a camera. We've never experienced the rest, and there is a lot we can't experience, even if we have the technology.

I made my garden from pride and to be enjoyed. God made the universe from his pride. The universe is God's garden -- his pride and joy. I suspect he's going to show us around it to marvel in even bigger ways on who he is! What is a video game compared to Alpha Centaur? What is my garden compared to what he has hidden away from everyone on a toxic planet we will never even know exists until he shows it to us? He's going to show us everything and we will be mighty proud of him!

Yes, he was. He spoke of God quite often. :) He spoke of how we should love each other and do as Jesus did. Keep in mind that God knows our hearts, and He certainly knows what Michael's heartset was..

But anyhoo, to stay on topic, I want to see ducks in heaven. :) Lots and lots of ducks and an infinite supply of bread.. :)
Seriously, Dudette?

You feed ducks with bread but don't like it when we neighbors feed pigeons and wrens with bread? Ducks poop bigger!
:p

(I hope you weren't drinking something when you read that. I hate liquid going out my nose. lol)

Like I said this is just for fun. Whether or not there actually in heaven I don't know. Like I said we might not even care even if they are there I can imagine being around the Lord is better then anything we can hope for. But just for fun if they are there I'd like to play some unrealised games. Seeing Dinosaurs would be cool too. Although Honestly I probably would be more excited to see the Apostles then dinosaurs. I'd like to meet Solomon too.
My question for Solomon, the wisest man ever and yet he was married to 500-1000 women:
"What were you thinking, man?"

but wait!

you could meet the Apostles while riding dinosaurs!

possibilities are endless

I get it's just for fun

bacon
OR, you could play video games with a brontosaurus. (I just don't think either will want to play video games.)

Let me repeat myself THIS thread is just for fun. ARE video games in heaven probably not. Like I said Jesus I'm sure has something much better planned. We are just speculating about what we want to see in heaven.

Unbelievable. Would the concept of video games in heaven not constitute idols. Nothing that defiles the perfect worship of God will enter into heaven which is in effect Gods presence.

What's next? Brothels and brew pubs in heaven? Reminds me of Islam where seventy virgins are given to defilement by deserving Islamic terrorists.

For the cause of Christ
Roger
Okay, I'm going there. Where you will not travel.

The best post-9/11 joke I heard.

A Muslim terrorist blows himself up in a suicide vest, and, sure enough, lands at the gates of heaven. George Washington spots him, walks over and tells him, "I don't like what you've done to my country." Then he clobbers him in the face and walks away.

Patrick Henry walks by, tells him the same thing, and punches him in the gut.

And then Thomas Jefferson wanders by, yells at him and knees him in the groin.

By then St. Peter shows up. The Muslim says, "What's going on here? This is heaven, and I'm supposed to get 70 virgins!"

St. Peter laughs and says, "No. You get 70 Virginians!"
:p

I agree that JW are not christian but if he gave his heart to Jesus it doesn't matter what church he went to.
It matters if he created another Jesus though. JWs and Mormons have another god.
