When was God defeated by iron chariots? Thats new to me.
I'll search for the verse, it went something like:
And Judah lead the army to destroy town A, and defeated them, for God was with him.
And Judah lead the army to destroy town B, and defeated them, for God was with him.
And Judah lead the army to destroy down C, but was unable to defeat them though God was with him, for they had chariots made of iron.

It's like.... as if!
Either God wasn't really making him win, or...
No, that's the only possibility :p
It cannot be literal

Here it is,
Judges 1:19 Bible-icon.png

17 And Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they slew the Canaanites that inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. And the name of the city was called Hormah.

18 Also Judah took Gaza with the coast thereof, and Askelon with the coast thereof, and Ekron with the coast thereof.

19 And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out the inhabitants of the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.

not the richest translation, but there's a verse clearly saying that the LORD was with Judah, yet Judah failed *because* they had chariots of iron, not because it was God's plan for them to fail all along.

Your profile says you claim to be a Christian how is this possible with your views on the word of GOD being so twisted?
Science :) ! My views aren't twisted, it's only on the internet where it really seems like most Christians buy into young Earth creationism. Out in the libraries and universities there are millions of Christians studying biology and aware of evidences that confirm the history of life.

It just seems that way on the internet because you're a vocal bunch, you Genesis literalists :)

Here are some Old Testament parables and Phillipy has given some more. Taking parables literally leads to error and a six day creation is an example of that error. Remember the Bible has to be understood by people down the ages so it uses allegory. It is our responsibility to:-

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
(2 Timothy 2:15)".

Of Balaam—Concerning the Moabites and Israelites. Mount Pisgab Num 23:24
Jotham—Trees making a king. Mount Gerizim Jdg 9:7-15
Samson—Strong bringing forth sweetness. Timnath Jdg 14:14
Nathan—Poor man's ewe lamb. Jerusalem 2Sa 12:1-4
Woman of Tekoah—Two brothers striving. Jerusalem 2Sa 14:1
The Smitten Prophet—The escaped prisoner. Near Samaria 1Ki 20:35-40
Jehoash, King of Israel—The thistle and cedar. Jerusalem 2Ki 14:9
Isaiah—Vineyard yielding wild grapes. Jerusalem Isa 5:1-6
Ezekiel—Lion's whelps. Babylon Eze 14:2-9
The boiling pot. Babylon Eze 24:3-5
The great eagles and the wine. Babylon Eze 17:3-10

Your lack of uderstanding the word of GOD is overwhelming. You have no idea what is going on in judges 1 or any where else.
You can worship at the altar of science all you want but dont call yourself a Christian and deny the word of GOD you claim you are a servant to by saying you are Christ like.

Riiiiiight...
That just doesn't make much sense to me. I'm totally fine that I probably don't understand Judges 1, I've only read English translations and not studied these verses or any contradicting science - the other examples were much more definitely not literal. The tower of Babel, for example. But... I don't worship at the alter of science, I just understand a literal interpretation of genesis to be falsified. It's not on faith, it's not a second religion, I personally have learnt thousands of interesting facts over the years that point exclusively to the evolution model.
I don't deny the word of God, I just have a different interpretation than you. I consider myself a very loving, caring person, but I would never presume to call myself Christ-like! Would you?

That is your biggest problem young one GOD never left HIS word to be interpreted by anyone scripture interprets scripture.

I am sure that GOD is really broken up that you and the others in schools all over the earth dont believe HE created the heavens and the earth in 6, 24 hour days You better check your compass those scientist you trust so much are lieing to you
You can trust the word of GOD or lieing men your choice.

I'm fine with calling someone a Christian if they believe in God and Jesus and that the bible is inspired by God. I'm also fine if you don't consider me a true Christian.

It's not a faith or trust based thing, science. I personally understand convincing reasons for what I believe in science like evolution, I don't take it dogmatically.

I would hope that you become more concern with who GOD considers you are not me. I am a little branch on the vine of Yeshua
nothing more nothing less

I think the popular teaching of creationist children to assume scientists are atheistic liars and involved in a conspiracy to disprove God is a negative teaching, limiting their children's ability to learn about reality.
I promote science education, and I'm concerned about the negative effect that the very vocal creationist movement is having on keeping Christians out of science.

Just because you can claim that science is a religion doesn't make it true.

That works the same for anything you say as well. :)
