I'm sure you could take certain snippets, partial sound bites, and quotes out of context from Reagan's speeches and interviews and make him look like a Communist. Throw in some video of him hugging Gorbachev a few times and away you go. Obama has said he is a Christian all his adult life and so is Michelle and the family. As a young adult in a Christian church in Chicago and as president he has been a defender and helper of the poor, oppressed, and outcasts of society, something Christ taught over and over in the New Testament. While I don't believe gay marriage is right, I don't believe discriminating against gays is right either and where in the New testament did Christ teach that? In fact helpng the poor was such an important theme taught by Christ that to me it's one of the most important traits a Christian can have, and as a President, Obama has been very much a fighter for the poor in contrast to other president's we've had who claim to be strong Christians but cut and cut programs to help the poor while they give huge tax cuts to the super wealthy. Actions speak louder than words.

Barack Obama has repeatedly stated that he is a committed Christian, and there is no credible evidence to the contrary. He was sworn into the Senate on his family Bible, and sworn into the presidency on a Bible used by Abraham Lincoln. He has regularly attended church with his wife and daughters for years. Questions have arisen due to the fact that his biological father had a "Muslim name" and was born into Islam. However, his father had long since left the religion and become an atheist by the time the future president was born. Further, Barack Obama's mother was a non-practicing Christian, so she raised her son to be spiritual and respect all religions. It was when he went to live with his maternal grandparents, who helped to raise him, that he lived in a home where a religion was observed-- Protestant Christianity.,, .
This is mostly all false.

Obama was born into a Muslim household with a practicing Muslim head of household. He was raised in the home saying Muslim prayers with his mother and sister every morning before breakfast. He was also raised by his stepfather who was a practicing Muslim. When Obama went to school he was registered as a Muslim and went to daily Koran study with the other Muslim students while the registered Christian students went to Bible study. (Source; Obama's own autobiography and then there is the statement by his adult sister, "of course we were Muslim! We always considered ourselves Muslim")

When Obama was in Chicago he joined a Liberation Theology Church run by the Rev "God Da%$ America!" Wright -- which imo is just a pseudo religious front group for Marxist-Socialist ideologists trying to undermine Christianity.

If Obama is Christian why did he have Christian symbols covered with cloth while he spoke at Georgetown?

"Georgetown University hid a religious inscription representing the name of Jesus during President Obama's address there Tuesday, FOXNews.com has confirmed, because White House staff asked the school to cover up all religious symbols and signs while the president was on stage.

Read more: Georgetown University Hid Religious Symbols at White House Request | Fox News

Not only has Obama NOT been regularly attending church on Sundays -- he rarely attends church at all.
His attendance is so infrequent it is more accurate to say he simply does not go to church.

Here is something Obama has said about his religous beliefs:

I'm a Christian by choice. My family didn't – frankly, they weren't folks who went to church every week. And my mother was one of the most spiritual people I knew, but she didn't raise me in the church. So I came to my Christian faith later in life, and it was because the precepts of Jesus Christ spoke to me in terms of the kind of life that I would want to lead – beingmy brothers' and sisters' keeper, treating others as they would treat me. I think also understanding that Jesus Christ dying for my sins spoke to the humility we all have to have as human beings, that we're sinful and we're flawed and we make mistakes, and that we achieve salvation through the grace of God. But what we can do, as flawed as we are, is still seeGod in other people and do our best to help them find their own grace. That's what I strive to do. That's what I pray to do every day. I think my public service is part of that effort to express my Christian faith.

Too bad only 47% of the americans 'voted for' a mormon last time... :D
Right. He was a Mormon who openly admitted he was a Mormon and he never pretended to be anything else.

Obama, on the other hand...

It actually was for hte most post i wonder a time constraint last time. well seeing how they are leading an entire country not a religious group sometimes whats good for the populace may not be good for christianity. Equality for all citizens>sticking with biblical principles of sexuality. It's all well and good for someone to follow christian values in their personal lives, but seeing how we dont live in a theocracy and despite the roughly 70% of americans whoclaim to be christians, the majority of the population has switched to supporting gay marriages. Now im sure people will try to argue this point but polls prove it. Now as president, sure you may be a christian, but you arent running a church. Youre running a country, and sometimes you have to make decisions that may go against your religion. So the whole argument of 'How do political leaders claim to be christian then support gay marriage?' is junk. They aren't pastors ministering to a congrgation. They are men in charge of leading a country of over 300 million, over half of which dont share the rightwing/conservative christian fear/hatred/disgust of gay marriage. If you were president and used common sense and smarts with this information, it also means the choice you make may not be the one you believe.
What you are saying is that we are not a Christian country any more, and could not use a Christian president.

Being we live in a world created and operated by God, and our country is living as if it isn't, that is a frightening statement.

I am pretty sure that he is. But I agree with the "who cares" part... to a point.

Why is he pretending to be something he is not?

It looks like this guy is a chronic pathological LIAR... more so than any other to ever sit in the Oval Office -- Bar none.

How do you know? Seriously, how do you know exactly what He will say. This, along with the other comments made on what He will say to you on judgement day, is pure speculation. He might not say anything. He might just go by what's in a person's heart. Muslims might have it right, then we're all doomed. He might........... who knows! We need to stop putting words in God's mouth and concentrate on our own soul salvation. Love eachother. Nobody can be 100% sure they have it right. So stop pretending. Peace!
Now I'm confused... how do you equate this posting to this one you have in your profile...

I believe in one God
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth
of all things visible and invisible.

I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only-begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through Him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
He came down from heaven.
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate
of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.

For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
He suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets;
I believe in One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church.
I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
I look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Either you believe Jesus is the one and only way to God or you don't... there's not much middle ground to stand on (none actually).

Once we understand that the man is a chronic pathological LIAR anything he might he say... "actual quotes" or not, will carry no meaning nor significance.

Believe me, I'm no Obama fan, but the things I see attributed to him are so often laughable. And if he's a liar about being Christian, then he's a liar about being Muslim as well, isn't he?

nobody knows the man's faith, what he practices or otherwise. It's all just speculation. I believe he has leanings towards the muslim faith--however strong or not he may be in the faith is unknown.

Nautilus, not a single part of this comment makes any sense at all. Muslims kill Muslims in every Muslim country around the world. Christians too for that matter....
Plus Obama is not killing "innocent" Muslim women and children so much as he is killing Guilty as sin Muslim Jihadi terrorists who are hiding behind their wives and children (whose innocence now becomes irrelevant among reasonable people. War is not pretty).

Ohhh no... not the "world doesn't like us" mantra again?!

What a bunch of hopelessly insecure emotional adolescents... grow up!

The ugly ones hate us because we are beautiful.

context. you can make anyone say anything if you take it out of context.

i'm sure they have porno with obama's voice dubbed in, but that doesn't mean he actually said those things in that way.

If you don't like Obama, at least stick to the TRUE things that you don't like about him. For example I have heard people don't like him because he supports gay marriage and is very liberal, spends too much money and increasing the debt, etc.

Obama is not Muslim. He is a liberal Christian, which many have issues with but that is another thread.......

What comments about Obama on this thread can you identify as "Untrue"?

What evidence can you present that demonstrates clearly that he is Christian?

?

Clear evidence has been presented showing that he was definitely born and raised as a Muslim.
His Christian bona fides are not so well established.

If you can make a compelling case for the "Obama is a Christian" claim... I am all ears.

Let's hear it.
