Scholars from Oxford University Trofimus. I thought that would be evident.

The understanding of the saber sword and the written word comes from my own personal study. The written is like a knife, but the Word from His mouth is like the saber sword. And yes, He is the Word. Its the anointing that we seek.

This is all written on a Christian website is it not? No one said anything about unbelievers being free or even would think of declaring freedom.

We are free positionally...but we are still in the world under the influence of the prince of the power of the 'air. Do you understand what this means trofimus? Have you experienced all the benefits of salvation? They are much more than just entrance into heaven.

Scholars from Oxford University? So what? So what? Who cares about their credentials? The vast majority of biblical scholars and theologians today aren't even Christian or if they are, many of them are so liberal in their beliefs that they're not orthodox Christianity (as taught in the Bible). I honestly can't find anything about Lucifer being king on earth before the creation of all things. From the verses you cited, I can see that Lucifer was a prideful angel in God's presence and that Heaven (where he lived was an Eden of sorts). Then, of course, he was thrown out of Heaven, along with all of his angels. The gap theory isn't tenable. You, on the other hand, are reading things into the Bible that just aren't there.

Base, you're stinking up the forums again with your Kabbalah, Bible Code bollocks. Let's not ruin another thread, please.

It seems there are many wonderful truths found in the bible that need to be understood...then for those who really study there are deeper truths and allusions to "things" that most will never see, understand and or even begin to grasp.........and there may be evidence of a particular line of thought that is irrelevant, with no consequence and possibly of no value in our walk because it does not need to be known........just saying.

Im stonesoffire, not base. And I didn't write this. Did you attend college? Or even school in general? Would you sit down in class and question whether the teacher was correct or just theorizing?

I have never heard of Oxford Bible, so it is no authority for me. Indeed, I can see the word "Oxford" in the title, so I know its from Oxford.
I was asking how it got into their heads, though.
And noting that a study Bible should be more neutral on the topic, this one is claiming their theories like facts.

I know you're not Base. The first paragraph is directed at you. The second paragraph is aimed at Base. Yes, I did attend college and school in general (what kind of question is that?) And yes, I've sat in class and questioned the teacher before, but in a respectful manner.

They aren't made up... they just didn't live millions of years ago.
If dinosaurs lived thousands years ago, almost everything in the historical sciences would be wrong.
Possible? Yes. Probable? No. Too many evidences.

Gap theory and YEC are not the only two possible views. There are others that fit in better.

This idea of there being a Gap is a main feature in the writings of Finis Dake known mainly for his Bible. According to him there was another creation complete with a race of people ruled by Lucifer. God destroyed them because they sided with him at his rebellion and are now Demons. Dake cites a passage from Jeremiah to back his claims.

"The Dake Annotated Reference Bible (1963) was the first widely published study bible produced by someone from within Pentecostalism.
Dake died of complications from Parkinson's disease on July 7, 1987."

For pentecostals, to die because of a disease, it means man has little faith, right?

Whatever, I still do not understand why is this wild fantasy theory so debated.

For many, yes. But not all stripes of Pentecostalism.

I supose its debated because the explanation appeals to some people, but not to me. Are you suggesting that with a bit more faith he could have gone on forever lol?

Like Henoch :)

I actually heard some pentecostal preachers to say they will never die. And they did not mean that Christ will return soon by it.

"To arrive at the more than 100 billion neurons that are the normal complement of a newborn baby, the brain must grow at the rate of about 250,000 nerve cells per minute, on average, throughout the course of pregnancy."

National Center for Biotechnology Information, U.S. National Library of Medicine

"As you do not know the path of the wind, or how the body is formed in a mother’s womb, so you cannot understand the work of God, the Maker of all things."

Ecclesiastes 11:5New International Version (NIV)

Even though "the brain must grow at the rate of about 250,000 nerve cells per minute" in the womb (each cell is complex), scientists and believers alike struggle to believe that God has the power to create the heavens and the earth, and all that is within them, in six literal days.

God created time, yet we still tend to view God through the concept of time.

"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: 2 For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, 4 traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 6 For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth."

2 Timothy 3:1-7 New King James Version (NKJV)

It is important that we do not deny God's Power, and believe (like Abraham) that nothing is too difficult for God. Are we lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God? Then we will not be spiritually minded to see the Truth in God's Word. The book of James asks the double minded to purify their hearts. Unbelievers, will accuse us of sticking our heads in the sand (in that we believe in a God Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is within them), yet scientists admit they cannot fully understand the human brain. God's people understand that we have a God Who's Power and knowledge are infinite. Jesus spoke to the Sadducees saying: "You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God." May we know the Scriptures and appreciate God's Power!
