Rom 11:1 "I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin."
Rom 11:2 "
God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,"

Paul is NOT talking about fleshly Israel here but is referring to spiritual Jews (Christians) and spiritual Israel (the church).

Paul was a fleshly Jew but was not of the fleshly Jews that were cast off for Paul became a Christian. Paul could not be saved simply being a fleshly Jew but had to obey the gospel and become a Christian. So even though God cast off fleshly Israel God did not cast them off so much so they could not be saved, but could be saved by becoming a Christian as Paul.

Rom 11:2 the people (not nation) that God foreknew are the ones that obey God>Christians. The nation Israel was cast off as seen in the following verses of Rom 11:15-25.

In Rom 11:3-5 Paul demonstrates who God's people are. In OT times during the time of Elijah God's people were the ones that OBEYED. Paul goes on to say in this present time God's people are the ones that OBEY Him, that obey the gospel > elect according to grace.

Rom 11:26
"And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:"

The Israel here is spiritual Israel the church, Christians, not fleshly Israel. THis spiritual Israel will be saved by Christ the Deliverer.

Rom 11:27 "
For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins."

This spiritual Israel, the church/Christians would have their sins remitted by Christ. This could not happen with fleshly Israel under the law for they had no remission of sins under that law being without the blood of Christ. So there would be a new covenant with spiritual Israel, the gospel through which sins are remitted. Again, Rom 11:15-25 fleshly Israel had been cast off so verses 25,26 cannot be talking about this fleshly nation. When the fullness of the Gentiles come in/reaped then both Jew and Gentile will make up the church (spiritual Israel) and God's harvest is concluded.,,,,,
So all Israel (spiritual Israel, Christians > Spiritual Jews (Rom 2:28,29) made up of both Jews and Gentiles) shall be saved.
Beautiful display of the Word of God.
You are indeed a Son of Israel :)

They perish in unbelief. Still it does not void the promises given to Abraham (e.g. land), and his descendants. The church is not given land promises, Israel has them. After the rapture, God will resume His direct dealings with national Israel.

The land promise was conditional, Joshua 23:14-16.

If those that claim to be Jews that lived for the last 2000 years are lost, then why is there supposedly some future time Jews will suposedly be saved?

Your premise contains a contradiction. If they had believed God then they would not have rejected their Messiah when He came.
Nope. I'm pretty sure the scriptures he gave trumps your confusing contradiction of opinion only. Why argue against God?

this quote is absolutely correct and is the BASIS OF MY SALVATION.

".... because of unbelief they were broken off...."

If the fleshly Jews had continued to believe God and obeyed and kept the law they would have believed Christ and obeyed Him when he came, but they did not and were broken off.

As Paul says in Rom 10:3 the Jews were lost for they would not submit/obey the righteousness/commandments of God.
For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God."

That was Seabass' statement and scriptures of the Word of God and it is not confusing or wrong. It is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And I defend the Gospel.

If you have something to contribute of scriptures feel free. I'd say it was about time, eh?

your talking eternal spiritual promise.

we are not talking about this, we are talking about physical promise.

plus, if you read on, in that day, all isreal will be saved..

All Israel will be saved refers to spiritual Israel, spiritual Jews>Christians (Rom 2:28,29) and not fleshly Israel that was cast off Rom 11:15-25.

well of course they were, but not because they were jews, but because they believed God, and it was accounted to them as rightiousness.. you know. just like abraham.

Ex 19:5 "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:"

Their being saved depended if they OBEYED God just as it is under Christ's NT gospel..Heb 5:9 Christ is the author of salvation unto all them that obey him. Rom 11:3,4 in OT times, who was God's people? The ones that OBEYED. No salvation by faith only under either the OT law or NT law.

Again the land promise given under the Abrahamic covenant, not under the Mosaic.

God will once again deal more directly with national Israel after the Church is gone (consisting of Jews and Gentiles) as promised in the OT prophets.

Gen 17: [SUP]7 [/SUP]And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Also I give to you and your descendants after you the land in which you are a stranger, all the land of Canaan, as an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”

I guess eternal does not mean eternal.

The land was an everlasting possession only as long as they kept the conditions of the covenant, Joshua 23:14-16. Had they eternally keep the conditions it would be eternally their land but they did not keep the covenant but disobeyed and broke it.

I agree; it is the Christians that are grafted into Israel. Israel is still God's chosen, and He has not forgotten them or given up on them. They are coming back to the land God promised them, scripture is being fulfilled.

The following scriptures might help you understand why the Lord still preserves Israel as a national people, and will continue

He does not do this for their sakes, but for His own purposes .... His explanation is quite clear

Ezekiel
36:1 Also, thou son of man, prophesy unto the mountains of Israel, and say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the LORD:

36:2 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because the enemy hath said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession:

36:3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that ye might be a possession unto the residue of the heathen, and ye are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people:

36:4 Therefore, ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;

36:5 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

36:6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israel, and say unto the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because ye have borne the shame of the heathen:

36:7 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I have lifted up mine hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

36:8 But ye, O mountains of Israel, ye shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israel; for they are at hand to come.

36:9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn unto you, and ye shall be tilled and sown:

36:10 And I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, even all of it: and the cities shall be inhabited, and the wastes shall be builded:

36:11 And I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit: and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better unto you than at your beginnings: and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

36:12 Yea, I will cause men to walk upon you, even my people Israel; and they shall possess thee, and thou shalt be their inheritance, and thou shalt no more henceforth bereave them of men.

36:13 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Because they say unto you, Thou land devourest up men, and hast bereaved thy nations:

36:14 Therefore thou shalt devour men no more, neither bereave thy nations any more, saith the Lord GOD.

36:15 Neither will I cause men to hear in thee the shame of the heathen any more, neither shalt thou bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shalt thou cause thy nations to fall any more, saith the Lord GOD.

36:16 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

36:17 Son of man, when the house of Israel dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

36:18 Wherefore I poured my fury upon them for the blood that they had shed upon the land, and for their idols wherewith they had polluted it:

36:19 And I scattered them among the heathen, and they were dispersed through the countries: according to their way and according to their doings I judged them.

36:20 And when they entered unto the heathen, whither they went, they profaned my holy name, when they said to them, These are the people of the LORD, and are gone forth out of his land.

36:21 But I had pity for mine holy name, which the house of Israel had profaned among the heathen, whither they went.

36:22 Therefore say unto the house of Israel, thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name's sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went.

36:23 And I will sanctify my great name, which was profaned among the heathen, which ye have profaned in the midst of them; and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, saith the Lord GOD, when I shall be sanctified in you before their eyes.

36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land.

36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.

36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

36:28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

36:29 I will also save you from all your uncleannesses: and I will call for the corn, and will increase it, and lay no famine upon you.

36:30 And I will multiply the fruit of the tree, and the increase of the field, that ye shall receive no more reproach of famine among the heathen.

36:31 Then shall ye remember your own evil ways, and your doings that were not good, and shall lothe yourselves in your own sight for your iniquities and for your abominations.

36:32 Not for your sakes do I this, saith the Lord GOD, be it known unto you: be ashamed and confounded for your own ways, O house of Israel.

36:33 Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded.

36:34 And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the sight of all that passed by.

36:35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited.

36:36 Then the heathen that are left round about you shall know that I the LORD build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I the LORD have spoken it, and I will do it.

36:37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

36:38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

No it was not, Gen 12, 15 and 17.

Them living in the land was conditional (lev 26) but it belonging to them was never conditional.

And why did they not believe?

Mat 13:11 He answered and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.

Rom 11:7 What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
Rom 11:8 Just as it is written: "GOD HAS GIVEN THEM A SPIRIT OF STUPOR, EYES THAT THEY SHOULD NOT SEE AND EARS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT HEAR, TO THIS VERY DAY."

God has blinded them.

no it does not, because the context of ROM 11 is gentile (believing or not) and Isreal (believing or not) And these same people (Israel) were considered our enemy because of the gospel.

do you ever read things to get context, or just make up your own opinion from a few verses?

are you serious. the whole book of hebrews proves you wrong. They were saved the same way we are. the law never saved ANYONE.

I was pointing out that even though the land promise was said to be "everlasting" is was still conditional. Israel disobeyed God and lost the land.

There is no nation of Israel now as in the bible for that nation is gone for ever. In Mt 21:43-46 Jesus was speaking to the Jews (verse 45) saying those Jews that rejected Him would be ground as powder, scattered as dust in the wind. Jer 19:11 it was prophesied the people and cities of Israel would be broken as a potter's vessel and cannot be made whole again. Every person must accept Christ in this life or be lost, no second chances,no future dispensations where one can be saved.

So those whom God blinded to have mercy on them are in for a big letdown? They get fried anyway?
