homosexuals, did God make them that way from birth?

To be perfectly honest with you, I didn't really understand what you were saying,
I apologize for this sir. It doesn't have anything to do with you. My wife and children tell me the same. It is my inability to effectively communicate the thoughts I would like to convey. I'm working on it though.

but you said something about protecting ones heart. How is a child who doesn't really understand the Bible suppose to protect his/her heart? How is a child suppose to know what to protect it against? How is child suppose to stop something that is said to be unnatural, but yet feels so natural? And I say child because majority of those who are gay/lesbian discover it at an early age.
This is where the parents come in. Parents are not only to provide for and help raise their children, they are to protect them from physical and spiritual predators/dangers as well.
The parent(s), that are not walking in sin, do(es) this through prayers of faith, before and after the child is born. You don't quit. Even as the child grows up, you cover them.
This should be done by the father/husband as he is the head and strong man of the house/family. He is the family covering/protector, even as Christ is to the church.
Many problems in the family are a direct result of the failures of the fathers. Generally, it is the mothers that pray for their children.

Mar_3:27 No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he will spoil his house.

Many go through stages of self-hatred, suicidal thoughts, bullying, and depression. How do you protect yourself in those times? How do you protect yourself when you hear(if you grow up in a Christian home especially) that gays are hell-bound?
Sometimes, knowledge is power. And it this case, knowing the truth is what makes one free, as it is a shield as well as a sword to them that use it.
Children are particularly susceptible to self condemnation as they want to fit in with the others, yet know that they are different. Being fragile and weak, along with their own hearts condemning them, they succumb to depression and the like.

Pro_29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

When you strip a person of hope, you've given them cause to seek death. For when they see that there is no way out for them, they quit in life.
At the same time, don't try to justify the way you are. For it is temporal and changeable, it is not permanent, if you do something about it. Because all thing are possible with God to them that believe.

I don't know how anyone else feels, but as long as I am attracted to men then by definition I am gay.
As the dominate spirit is in you, so are you. When the spirit is gone, you will not be able to say the above statement. Take hope in God, there is a way to get free. Though it is in,through, and by Jesus, it will do you no good for me to say this to you. Until you put action to the knowledge and understanding of how it is done through and by Jesus, you will remain the same.

When I hear the words that gays are going to hell or God hates gays I think of myself. I know many Christians say the attraction isn't the sin, but the act is, but as I already said by definition I am gay because of my attraction. I can't escape it and as long as I hear gays are going to Hell my mind will keep associating myself as hell-bound.
First off, God does not hate you.
I'm going to repeat myself again by saying that when one is born again, they do not automatically receive deliverance. Though it is available at the time of conversion and some do get delivered at that time, because of how they came to Christ, it is not a prerequisite to being or becoming a child of God.
As for being hell bound, would you answer a question or two for me please?...After you read the scripture below.

Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Can this scripture, which is a promise of God, stand alone and still be the truth? Or, does it need a little help from other verses in the bible, such as the need to be baptized or to repent, in order for it to be the truth?
Is this scripture enough for one to become a child of God, or is it a half or partial truth from God, who cannot lie? If you cannot become a child of God after acting on this scripture, then it is a lie?
Is deliverance from sins or bad habits a requirement or proof of one's salvation?
Then what is the purpose of repentance from each specific sin? Why confess each sin by name?
It is a prerequisite for deliverance and healing, not salvation.
They have it wrong, the attraction is a sin, because it is coming from the heart.

Mat_5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

If it didn't come from the heart, it wouldn't be sin.
I am in the process of writing up a thread specifically on deliverance. It is my hope that others will chime in and give their input.
Not that I am a leading authority on it, but I do know a thing or two about it.
It is my pray that it aid in helping you and those that are bound, as I was for so many years, to get and stay free.

The sad part is to often they only hear the condemnation. They see the "Westboros" that tell them that God hates them, and "Christians" who mock them, spit on them, and revile them. How often do they see the very same compassion that we were shown? Didn't Jesus show compassion to the woman at the well, who had five husbands and was living with a sixth man,the woman caught in adultery, the lepers, the man born blind? How will they ever come to know that Jesus truly loves them if all that is done is that they are kept at a distance? How will they ever know they can be set free if all they hear is condemnation? Think about it if we are the ones who are to show Christ's love,to be His example, and if they do not see it,is it any wonder they want nothing to do with Him?
Of course all sinners need to hear law and gospel and those two rightly divided. I agree there's a problem when homosexuals are singled out in much preaching for being under God's wrath since all unrepentant and unbelieving sinners without exception are under the same wrath. This western world focus on anything sexual in nature is unsound. This said, a homosexual lifestyle has many negative consequences with it for society which differ it from other sins. Hence it is a political issue as well, which fuels further attention.

If they remain under God's wrath, then what will you die for?

You are married. Did the world TEACH you this attraction towards her? When these "feelings" arose I guess at puberty, did they or your parents make sure you harbored such feelings towards the appropriate sex?

I don't know about your personal life, but because of my attraction for females, sure I did what the world considers to be fornication.

Again no one taught me. Neither were these feelings raw and undefined. It's not like I would've been attracted to a male if these feelings arose without a female present. You must believe they're the same way.

You are attracted to women. Would you sleep with a man just "because"?

Obviously not! In turn they just know that regardless of how they look, that very same attraction that came out of you, did so with them. The only way to describe it is like taking the spirit of a female and placing that in a male body.

Your mainly irrational post is irrelevant to what is discussed above and I believe it is written in a spirit of justifying homosexual attraction and lifestyle.

How? What do I have to gain by justifying homosexuality, when I'm not a homosexual? Any man who hates his brother is a murderer however. And you are such, seeing as how your kingdom of heaven has excluded these folks.

Now to be in Christ is to be baptized into DEATH. How does a dead man know of homosexuality? A dead man knows NOTHING!

You accuse me of hating the brethren and being a murderer? Shows your colors right there.

No wonder though. How can you get anything straight when you think you know better than God.

No more pearls for you.

Sin is described as transgression of the law.

Transgression is defined as having respect of persons and building again upon what God has destroyed.

Sin is also described as ANYTHING outside of faith.

How do these fit together without contradiction seeming as how the law was ADDED because of transgression?

Now is it of faith that you devour these people? How so considering it is something the world plainly sees as wrong? Is this of faith or of an expectant reward upon which debt is accrued?

You are sinning beloved. These people cannot afford your salvation. Remember you got it free!
patient, your dialectic isn't going to work on me.
when you have the guts to call sin what it is, then we might have a dialogue.
we all have to call sin what what it is. according to what God said, not you.

i'm not going to validate anybody's sin: that's for Freud or Oprah.

not yours or mine < i'm not validated in my sin, and neither are you.

validated as a sinner in need of forgiveness and cleansing, ya. but that's not your game.

this gnostic idea you have that it doesn't matter what we do in the flesh is extreme heresy.

your twisted view of faith says God is just fine with sodomy if it's done in love (or faith?)

i had to go to rehab and quit the needle. and the bottle. and confess and seek freedom from bondage to a ton of other stuff......OR DID I?

is it okay for me to go visit the man tonight if i do it in faith? is that what God wants for me?

is that your Gospel?

If I were to build upon what was already destroyed, I become a transgressor.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU TWO?

Using drugs DOES NOT DEFILE A MAN! You realized it's not profitable for you. However someone out there does all the drugs he wants. However it doesn't affect him like it did you. He functions normally.

I'm not a drinker. A half pint of gin and I'm no good to anyone! Lol. Liquor not good for me. My friend however drinks 100 proof gin like it's water without showing ANY of the effects I would've had.

If homosexuality is unclean to you, don't do it. But do not condemn such, for whom Christ died knowing we all DESERVE THE SAME FATE!

God is a Spirit!

Is it LAWFUL for Jesus to save a homosexual, of whom was brought with a price?

Yes or no?
you're not going to get validation for happily living in perversion. not from me, dude.

when you feel guilty and sick and sorry for it, there's forgiveness and power to overcome....CHRIST CRUCIFIED TO SAVE YOU FROM THE WRATH FOR WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

until then....here's a happy bedtime story for you.

Jude 1
In a similar way, Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding towns gave themselves up to sexual immorality and perversion. They serve as an example of those who suffer the punishment of eternal fire.

If you were on a stand, the judge would tell you to reply "yes or no".

You hide behind verses you do not understand. Define sexual immorality and perversion? And does this have anything to do with the woman in revelation?

Jude 1:7

explain it to me.
what don't i understand?

use Lexicons, commentaries, dictionaries, anything you have to exegete this verse and make it say something other than what it says.

gave themselves up
to sexual immorality
and perversion
They serve as an example
of those who suffer
the punishment
of eternal fire

does Jude say the eternal fire is for punishment? or for making you nice and clean?
does he say those who are punished will suffer?
does he say they suffer but emerge happy?
is there suffering involved in sin?

OH! right! we don't have to worry about it, Jesus was crucified so sin could abound!

Ezekiel 16:35-52

35*Wherefore, O harlot, hear the word of the Lord:

36*Thus saith the Lord God; Because thy filthiness was poured out, and thy nakedness discovered through thy whoredoms with thy lovers, and with all the idols of thy abominations, and by the blood of thy children, which thou didst give unto them;

37*Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.

38*And I will judge thee, as women that break wedlock and shed blood are judged; and I will give thee blood in fury and jealousy.

39*And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.

40*They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.

41*And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.

42*So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.

43*Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord God: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.

44*Behold, every one that useth proverbs shall use this proverb against thee, saying, As is the mother, so is her daughter.

45*Thou art thy mother's daughter, that lotheth her husband and her children; and thou art the sister of thy sisters, which lothed their husbands and their children: your mother was an Hittite, and your father an Amorite.

46*And thine elder sister is Samaria, she and her daughters that dwell at thy left hand: and thy younger sister, that dwelleth at thy right hand, is Sodom and her daughters.

47*Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.

48*As I live, saith the Lord God, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

49*Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

50*And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

51*Neither hath Samaria committed half of thy sins; but thou hast multiplied thine abominations more than they, and hast justified thy sisters in all thine abominations which thou hast done.

52*Thou also, which hast judged thy sisters, bear thine own shame for thy sins that thou hast committed more abominable than they: they are more righteous than thou: yea, be thou confounded also, and bear thy shame, in that thou hast justified thy sisters.

How does this compare with how you make it out to be? We are WORSE than them. Why, how? I mean there are no men going around in mobs looking to rape men as you would make it out to be.

Is this then a contradiction? Again I ask simple questions. Why can't I get simple answers? What is sexual immorality and perversion as defined here? In ezekiel, none of this seems to be the reason they were destroyed.

Lol. Before trying to get me banned, atleast give us the simple answers.

Come on bible scholar! What does it mean to know a man after the flesh? Hint. It has something to do with sexual perversion.

LITERAL ACTUAL CITIES GIVEN OVER TO PERVERSION AND WERE DESTROYED BY FIRE AND BRIMSTONE. LITERAL. NOT EVEN JUDGMENT DAY YET. THIS IS JUST AS AN EXAMPLE. JUST FOR STARTERS.

Genesis 19
God Rescues Lot

1The two angels came to Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed himself with his face to the earth 2and said, “My lords, please turn aside to your servant’s house and spend the night and wash your feet. Then you may rise up early and go on your way.” They said, “No; we will spend the night in the town square.” 3But he pressed them strongly; so they turned aside to him and entered his house. And he made them a feast and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

4But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. 5And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.” 6Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him, 7and said, “I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly. 8Behold, I have two daughters who have not known any man. Let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please. Only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof.” 9But they said, “Stand back!” And they said, “This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them.” Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down. 10But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. 11And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.

12Then the men said to Lot, “Have you anyone else here? Sons-in-law, sons, daughters, or anyone you have in the city, bring them out of the place. 13For we are about to destroy this place, because the outcry against its people has become great before the LORD, and the LORD has sent us to destroy it.” 14So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, “Up! Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

15As morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up! Take your wife and your two daughters who are here, lest you be swept away in the punishment of the city.” 16But he lingered. So the men seized him and his wife and his two daughters by the hand, the LORD being merciful to him, and they brought him out and set him outside the city. 17And as they brought them out, one said, “Escape for your life. Do not look back or stop anywhere in the valley. Escape to the hills, lest you be swept away.” 18And Lot said to them, “Oh, no, my lords. 19Behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have shown me great kindness in saving my life. But I cannot escape to the hills, lest the disaster overtake me and I die. 20Behold, this city is near enough to flee to, and it is a little one. Let me escape there—is it not a little one?—and my life will be saved!” 21He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this favor also, that I will not overthrow the city of which you have spoken. 22Escape there quickly, for I can do nothing till you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the city was called Zoar.a

God Destroys Sodom
23The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 24Then the LORD rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the LORD out of heaven. 25And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26But Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.

27And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the LORD. 28And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.

29So it was that, when God destroyed the cities of the valley, God remembered Abraham and sent Lot out of the midst of the overthrow when he overthrew the cities in which Lot had lived.

1Again the word of the LORD came to me: 2“Son of man, make known to Jerusalem her abominations, 3and say, Thus says the Lord GOD to Jerusalem: Your origin and your birth are of the land of the Canaanites; your father was an Amorite and your mother a Hittite. 4And as for your birth, on the day you were born your cord was not cut, nor were you washed with water to cleanse you, nor rubbed with salt, nor wrapped in swaddling cloths. 5No eye pitied you, to do any of these things to you out of compassion for you, but you were cast out on the open field, for you were abhorred, on the day that you were born.

6“And when I passed by you and saw you wallowing in your blood, I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ I said to you in your blood, ‘Live!’ 7I made you flourish like a plant of the field. And you grew up and became tall and arrived at full adornment. Your breasts were formed, and your hair had grown; yet you were naked and bare.

8“When I passed by you again and saw you, behold, you were at the age for love, and I spread the corner of my garment over you and covered your nakedness; I made my vow to you and entered into a covenant with you, declares the Lord GOD, and you became mine. 9Then I bathed you with water and washed off your blood from you and anointed you with oil. 10I clothed you also with embroidered cloth and shod you with fine leather. I wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk.a 11And I adorned you with ornaments and put bracelets on your wrists and a chain on your neck. 12And I put a ring on your nose and earrings in your ears and a beautiful crown on your head. 13Thus you were adorned with gold and silver, and your clothing was of fine linen and silk and embroidered cloth. You ate fine flour and honey and oil. You grew exceedingly beautiful and advanced to royalty. 14And your renown went forth among the nations because of your beauty, for it was perfect through the splendor that I had bestowed on you, declares the Lord GOD.

15“But you trusted in your beauty and played the whoreb because of your renown and lavished your whoringsc on any passerby; your beautyd became his. 16You took some of your garments and made for yourself colorful shrines, and on them played the whore. The like has never been, nor ever shall be.e 17You also took your beautiful jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given you, and made for yourself images of men, and with them played the whore. 18And you took your embroidered garments to cover them, and set my oil and my incense before them. 19Also my bread that I gave you—I fed you with fine flour and oil and honey—you set before them for a pleasing aroma; and so it was, declares the Lord GOD. 20And you took your sons and your daughters, whom you had borne to me, and these you sacrificed to them to be devoured. Were your whorings so small a matter 21that you slaughtered my children and delivered them up as an offering by fire to them? 22And in all your abominations and your whorings you did not remember the days of your youth, when you were naked and bare, wallowing in your blood.

23“And after all your wickedness (woe, woe to you! declares the Lord GOD), 24you built yourself a vaulted chamber and made yourself a lofty place in every square. 25At the head of every street you built your lofty place and made your beauty an abomination, offering yourselff to any passerby and multiplying your whoring. 26You also played the whore with the Egyptians, your lustful neighbors, multiplying your whoring, to provoke me to anger. 27Behold, therefore, I stretched out my hand against you and diminished your allotted portion and delivered you to the greed of your enemies, the daughters of the Philistines, who were ashamed of your lewd behavior. 28You played the whore also with the Assyrians, because you were not satisfied; yes, you played the whore with them, and still you were not satisfied. 29You multiplied your whoring also with the trading land of Chaldea, and even with this you were not satisfied.

30“How sick is your heart,g declares the Lord GOD, because you did all these things, the deeds of a brazen prostitute, 31building your vaulted chamber at the head of every street, and making your lofty place in every square. Yet you were not like a prostitute, because you scorned payment. 32Adulterous wife, who receives strangers instead of her husband! 33Men give gifts to all prostitutes, but you gave your gifts to all your lovers, bribing them to come to you from every side with your whorings. 34So you were different from other women in your whorings. No one solicited you to play the whore, and you gave payment, while no payment was given to you; therefore you were different.

35“Therefore, O prostitute, hear the word of the LORD: 36Thus says the Lord GOD, Because your lust was poured out and your nakedness uncovered in your whorings with your lovers, and with all your abominable idols, and because of the blood of your children that you gave to them, 37therefore, behold, I will gather all your lovers with whom you took pleasure, all those you loved and all those you hated. I will gather them against you from every side and will uncover your nakedness to them, that they may see all your nakedness. 38And I will judge you as women who commit adultery and shed blood are judged, and bring upon you the blood of wrath and jealousy. 39And I will give you into their hands, and they shall throw down your vaulted chamber and break down your lofty places. They shall strip you of your clothes and take your beautiful jewels and leave you naked and bare. 40They shall bring up a crowd against you, and they shall stone you and cut you to pieces with their swords. 41And they shall burn your houses and execute judgments upon you in the sight of many women. I will make you stop playing the whore, and you shall also give payment no more. 42So will I satisfy my wrath on you, and my jealousy shall depart from you. I will be calm and will no more be angry. 43Because you have not remembered the days of your youth, but have enraged me with all these things, therefore, behold, I have returned your deeds upon your head, declares the Lord GOD. Have you not committed lewdness in addition to all your abominations?

44“Behold, everyone who uses proverbs will use this proverb about you: ‘Like mother, like daughter.’ 45You are the daughter of your mother, who loathed her husband and her children; and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and their children. Your mother was a Hittite and your father an Amorite. 46And your elder sister is Samaria, who lived with her daughters to the north of you; and your younger sister, who lived to the south of you, is Sodom with her daughters. 47Not only did you walk in their ways and do according to their abominations; within a very little time you were more corrupt than they in all your ways. 48As I live, declares the Lord GOD, your sister Sodom and her daughters have not done as you and your daughters have done. 49Behold, this was the guilt of your sister Sodom: she and her daughters had pride, excess of food, and prosperous ease, but did not aid the poor and needy. 50They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it. 51Samaria has not committed half your sins. You have committed more abominations than they, and have made your sisters appear righteous by all the abominations that you have committed. 52Bear your disgrace, you also, for you have intervened on behalf of your sisters. Because of your sins in which you acted more abominably than they, they are more in the right than you. So be ashamed, you also, and bear your disgrace, for you have made your sisters appear righteous.

53“I will restore their fortunes, both the fortunes of Sodom and her daughters, and the fortunes of Samaria and her daughters, and I will restore your own fortunes in their midst, 54that you may bear your disgrace and be ashamed of all that you have done, becoming a consolation to them. 55As for your sisters, Sodom and her daughters shall return to their former state, and Samaria and her daughters shall return to their former state, and you and your daughters shall return to your former state. 56Was not your sister Sodom a byword in your mouth in the day of your pride, 57before your wickedness was uncovered? Now you have become an object of reproach for the daughters of Syriah and all those around her, and for the daughters of the Philistines, those all around who despise you. 58You bear the penalty of your lewdness and your abominations, declares the LORD.

The LORD’s Everlasting Covenant
59“For thus says the Lord GOD: I will deal with you as you have done, you who have despised the oath in breaking the covenant, 60yet I will remember my covenant with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish for you an everlasting covenant. 61Then you will remember your ways and be ashamed when you take your sisters, both your elder and your younger, and I give them to you as daughters, but not on account ofi the covenant with you. 62I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall know that I am the LORD, 63that you may remember and be confounded, and never open your mouth again because of your shame, when I atone for you for all that you have done, declares the Lord GOD.”

GOD'S WRATH ON THE CUT-OFF BRANCHES OF UNFAITHFUL ISRAEL - THOSE WHO REJECT THE ATONEMENT HE PROVIDED IN CHRIST.

ReveLation 17
The Great Prostitute and the Beast

1Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of the great prostitute who is seated on many waters, 2with whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and with the wine of whose sexual immorality the dwellers on earth have become drunk.” 3And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names, and it had seven heads and ten horns. 4The woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and jewels and pearls, holding in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the impurities of her sexual immorality. 5And on her forehead was written a name of mystery: “Babylon the great, mother of prostitutes and of earth’s abominations.” 6And I saw the woman, drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus.a

When I saw her, I marveled greatly. 7But the angel said to me, “Why do you marvel? I will tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her. 8The beast that you saw was, and is not, and is about to rise from the bottomless pitb and go to destruction. And the dwellers on earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world will marvel to see the beast, because it was and is not and is to come. 9This calls for a mind with wisdom: the seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman is seated; 10they are also seven kings, five of whom have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come, and when he does come he must remain only a little while. 11As for the beast that was and is not, it is an eighth but it belongs to the seven, and it goes to destruction. 12And the ten horns that you saw are ten kings who have not yet received royal power, but they are to receive authority as kings for one hour, together with the beast. 13These are of one mind, and they hand over their power and authority to the beast. 14They will make war on the Lamb, and the Lamb will conquer them, for he is Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called and chosen and faithful.”

15And the angelc said to me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. 16And the ten horns that you saw, they and the beast will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked, and devour her flesh and burn her up with fire, 17for God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing over their royal power to the beast, until the words of God are fulfilled. 18And the woman that you saw is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”

GOD'S ETERNAL PURPOSE TO SAVE FOR HIMSELF ACCORDING TO HIS GOOD PLEASURE GENTILES WHO WERE PREVIOUSLY EXCLUDED, GRAFTING THEM IN TO THE NATURAL TREE (FROM WHICH NATURAL DEAD BRANCHES WERE CUT-OFF): STILL HIS CHOICE:

Acts 13
Paul and Barnabas at Antioch in Pisidia
13Now Paul and his companions set sail from Paphos and came to Perga in Pamphylia. And John left them and returned to Jerusalem, 14but they went on from Perga and came to Antioch in Pisidia. And on the Sabbath day they went into the synagogue and sat down. 15After the reading from the Law and the Prophets, the rulers of the synagogue sent a message to them, saying, “Brothers, if you have any word of encouragement for the people, say it.” 16So Paul stood up, and motioning with his hand said:

“Men of Israel and you who fear God, listen. 17The God of this people Israel chose our fathers and made the people great during their stay in the land of Egypt, and with uplifted arm he led them out of it. 18And for about forty years he put up withb them in the wilderness. 19And after destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave them their land as an inheritance. 20All this took about 450 years. And after that he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. 21Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul the son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22And when he had removed him, he raised up David to be their king, of whom he testified and said, ‘I have found in David the son of Jesse a man after my heart, who will do all my will.’ 23Of this man’s offspring God has brought to Israel a Savior, Jesus, as he promised. 24Before his coming, John had proclaimed a baptism of repentance to all the people of Israel. 25And as John was finishing his course, he said, ‘What do you suppose that I am? I am not he. No, but behold, after me one is coming, the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.’

26“Brothers, sons of the family of Abraham, and those among you who fear God, to us has been sent the message of this salvation. 27For those who live in Jerusalem and their rulers, because they did not recognize him nor understand the utterances of the prophets, which are read every Sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning him. 28And though they found in him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have him executed. 29And when they had carried out all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree and laid him in a tomb. 30But God raised him from the dead, 31and for many days he appeared to those who had come up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people. 32And we bring you the good news that what God promised to the fathers, 33this he has fulfilled to us their children by raising Jesus, as also it is written in the second Psalm,

“‘You are my Son,
today I have begotten you.’

34And as for the fact that he raised him from the dead, no more to return to corruption, he has spoken in this way,

“‘I will give you the holy and sure blessings of David.’

35Therefore he says also in another psalm,

“‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.’

36For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption, 37but he whom God raised up did not see corruption. 38Let it be known to you therefore, brothers, that through this man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, 39and by him everyone who believes is freedc from everything from which you could not be freed by the law of Moses. 40Beware, therefore, lest what is said in the Prophets should come about:

41 “‘Look, you scoffers,
be astounded and perish;
for I am doing a work in your days,
a work that you will not believe, even if one tells it to you.’”

42As they went out, the people begged that these things might be told them the next Sabbath. 43And after the meeting of the synagogue broke up, many Jews and devout converts to Judaism followed Paul and Barnabas, who, as they spoke with them, urged them to continue in the grace of God.

44The next Sabbath almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord. 45But when the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began to contradict what was spoken by Paul, reviling him. 46And Paul and Barnabas spoke out boldly, saying, “It was necessary that the word of God be spoken first to you. Since you thrust it aside and judge yourselves unworthy of eternal life, behold, we are turning to the Gentiles. 47For so the Lord has commanded us, saying,

“‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’”

48And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
49And the word of the Lord was spreading throughout the whole region. 50But the Jews incited the devout women of high standing and the leading men of the city, stirred up persecution against Paul and Barnabas, and drove them out of their district. 51But they shook off the dust from their feet against them and went to Iconium. 52And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.
