John 14:21 "Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them."

Which was referring to the 10 commandments, so if you wear pants don't worry it won't keep you out of heaven if you have accepted the lord Jesus Christ as your personal savior.

Look at the attire in history. The men wore what we consider dresses today, but made in a style for men. Likewise pants are made for women and for men. The style is different because the bodies are different.

The scripture at Deuteronomy 22:5 says "A woman must not wear men's clothing, nor a man wear women's clothing, for the LORD your God detests anyone who does this."

Those wearing women's or men's clothing desiring to be that sex or to portray themselves as such is really the subject.

This command was likely given to avoid fornication, sodomy or homosexuality.

When I cannot find comfortable steel toed shoes for the job I do in women's sizes I get the wider and more comfortable mens size. No one I work with knows this, for I do not portray myself as a man in doing so. It is about comfort.

Isn't it simply a matter of commonsense to decide what is modest and what is meant to arouse inappropriate attention? A pair of everyday jeans is far less ostentatious and provocative than a flimsy dress. My parents do feel dresses and skirts are more naturally feminine but I think that mindset is probably a bit outdated these days. Times and fashions change.

He designed us naked after all :)

@ Bookreader, Yes, God does care about what we wear. Adam and Eve made fig leaf garments originally, but God made them animal skin garments. Apparently, what Adam and Eve made to wear was not acceptable to Him.

and remember, it wasn't some willy-nilly piece of clothing either, it was from a blood sacrifice, and animal. So to me that lets me know that GOD wanted something special for HIS creation to wear. Something better.

but what if your both genders? What if you were born intersex? That will confuse someone regardless of how you dress.

I don't think what we think with our carnal minds is very important in making this decision, it is what we think after we put on Christ, we renew our minds with the Holy Spirit. We are to listen to the Holy Spirit that would never direct us to ignore what any of scripture tells us. Scripture tells women not to wear pants.

I don't think that is the end of the story. Christ came to fulfill the law. We know there are God principles behind each law, God wants women to be women and men to be men, God wants us to not change his creations. I think we can wear the feminine pants without it saying to us or the world that we want to be like men, we don't honor how we were made.

How we dress does announce to ourselves and the world what we think of God. If we refuse to let what God wants for us be any part of how we dress, it shows.

I
I think God just wants us to be ourselves, Look I will be honest with you , I have an intersex condition that makes me a blend of male and female in a pyshical and mental way as well, its been confirmed by a doctor, I am a blend, and I believe i was supposed to be this way on purpose. I am not a mistake.

All that really means is that a woman should not dress manly and a man should not dress girly....... sheesh
Duet 22:5 is really referring to garments of war, Men were not allowed to wear womens garments, because they would use that as an excuse to get out of civil duty. Women were not allowed to wear a warriors garments, because women were not allowed to fight.

It's funny you should post that, pink used to be considered a man's colour, and yellow was more girly.

Useless information but there we are.

I don't think , from what I see posted, that people really care; what it actually means in reality ... its just something to gossip over.

It means women shouldn't 'wear the trousers'. That's where the saying comes from believe it or not.

More to do with a man being a man, and a woman being a woman. Not necessarily in duties per se, but in demeanor and their relationship with one another.

Not that it means anything to 90% of the liberal neo-feminist women of today who don't really understand what feminist means but just love hating men for being men.

But there we go. I'm ranting ...

Im a bit confused by why Deuteronomy is used out of context to say that women cannot wear pants or jeans or a t shirt and essentially the same clothes men wear. I mean really? Would God send a woman to hell for that? Are not we the ones who decides whats a female or male garment anyways? What about men who wear what would be considered a dress? Are they going to hell for wearing these clothes? Someone help me make sense of this please.

Deuteronomy 22:5 A woman shall not wear a man’s apparel, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for whoever does such things is abhorrent to the Lord your God.

I, personally, think women look better in dresses. Not sure if they had pants back then, but there is a difference between women's pants and men's today. Plus I think it'd be kinda hard for a guy to fit into a pair of women's pants. So it's a little hard to disobey this law.
