Jesus was a racist bigot who hated women...and a whole race of people.

I have heard (though I dont know the verse) that the OT does allow Gentiles into Israel, as long as they make the sacrifice of the lamb.

(Maybe someone can clear that up, if they know which verse I mean?)

But, that would mean that in the times of the OT, that God allowed Gentiles to worship Him in His land.

And there are prophecies (I think in Kings) about how the Gentiles would in fact come to Israel to worship Him.
If you have a bible program, do a word search on "Strangers," there's a whole lot in the word about it.

Well....at first look at the passage Jesus treated this woman with indifference, disdain...and then he hurled a lowest of the low insult at her.....which is contrary to everything else written about Jesus. I think it is an important point and it is also pretty good apologetics to explain this concept to someone who actually believes that Jesus held those attitudes in his heart based on this passage.

So....I ask you....why did Jesus treat this woman so poorly? Was it because he actually thought of her as a dog?.....or was he demonstrating the attitude of those weak confused men who He invited to follow Him around?

I don't think it misses the intention at all. Jesus was teaching his disciples that there is a new way and a new law and you guys need to cast off your bad attitudes about the gentiles and about the non-jewish...and that ALL who come to me can drink.
Yes in terms of being delivered fro the Old Covenant into the New through His Cross ...much more than just the modern ideas of racial equality ...that equality is based on what He did, not moral precepts of the world. Under the law for the Jews to equate the races was sinful according to what was written in the law. That's why Peter and the other Jews was so upset that Jews and Gentiles would eat together and worship together...because under the Old covenant ..that was a sin.

I agree with the woman in the story, "even the little dogs will take the crumbs from their masters table." I'll take the crumbs too, I'll take any of the food that Jesus has for me.

The message is more about humility. Jesus blessed her for that.

Matthew 15:28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.

You're still stuck on temporal things. Jesus kingdom is in the spiritual realm and there is no politics or racial inequality. Jesus ministry is and was a ministry of healing the heart from sin and sinful attitude. This thread isn't about some nationalistic attitude about a government or a political persuasion. God is no respecter of persons.

Yes and this is part of my point...we have to judge the Jews based on what was written in the Law to understand the conflict was not just based on modern terms of racism ...when we understand that we are all equal ..based on the work of Christ...not Political Correctness, we don't become ensnared by the PC game that many try to use to promote ungodliness in this world.

It makes no sense that Jesus treated her like crap as a test of her faith. This completely flies in the face of His character.

Anyone who read your post would have seen it in terms of temporal PC logic... I tried to show you that error and make a biblical point about Christ teaching things based on His eternal truth and Word..not modern left-wing propaganda. The reason you understand "God is no respecter of persons" is because its biblical..based on Christ and His covenant. Under the OLD covenant (which the Jews was under) God called the Gentiles defiled and "dogs" according to the law. To leave that out of the discussion is to miss the eternal truth you "now" claim you was trying to uphold.

Actually...I think Jesus saw an opportunity to show his disciples what racist mysoginist bigots THEY were...and when it was all said and done...Jesus went to that woman and said to her....I am so proud of you for your faith....you are not a dog and I love you...and thank you for helping to teach my disciples where their bias and bigoted mindsets lead too.

Actually there wasn't anything racist about that passage. Jesus was teaching that the saved gentiles were a part of the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Get out of your modern PC mind for a min and understand that Christ called this woman a dog based on the Old Covenant ...not because He was cruel or mean but to teach on how what was condemned under the Old Written code was justified under His New Covenant. If Jesus calls someone a dog..He don't need to answer to the PC police ...He was teaching something greater than Political correctness....

To take it even further, In the verse where Jesus said: Matthew 15:26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.

The word, "dogs" is defined by Strong's coming from the root word:

2965 // kuwn // kuon // koo'-ohn //

a root word; TDNT - 3:1101,; n m

AV - dog 5; 5

1) a dog
2) metaph. a man of impure mind, an impudent man

That being compared to what Paul said about the carnal mind.
Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
4561 // sarx // sarx // sarx //

probably from the base of 4563 ; TDNT - 7:98,1000; n f

AV - flesh 147, carnal 2, carnally minded + 5427 1, fleshly 1; 151

1) flesh (the soft substance of the living body, which covers
the bones and is permeated with blood) of both man and beasts
2) the body
2a) the body of a man
2b) used of natural or physical origin, generation or
relationship
2b1) born of natural generation
2c) the sensuous nature of man, "the animal nature"
2c1) without any suggestion of depravity
2c2) the animal nature with cravings which incite to sin
2c3) the physical nature of man as subject to suffering
3) a living creature (because possessed of a body of flesh)
whether man or beast
4) the flesh, denotes mere human nature, the earthly nature of man apart
from divine influence, and therefore prone to sin and opposed to God

We're all fortunate to even receive crumbs from the Master's table.

So you don't think the disciples looked down on this Canaanite woman at all? They certainly didn't question Jesus' treatment of her.....as a matter of fact...they told Jesus to send her away!.....seems pretty cold hearted and un-Jesus like to me. Jesus simply modeled their attitudes about this woman so they could see it on display.

Im sure they did, thats the way of the Jews, they have always thought they were better than everyone else. Question, do you think the woman was saved?

Dude...these Jews thought they was upholding the law..they would not understand what Jesus was teaching them until the Holy Spirit was given to them after He died and rose again. To say they should have had our understanding of racial equality in Christ is to kind of miss the point about the heart change we all need in Christ. Let me assure you that no one that is not born-again and walking in the Spirit is really unbiased on any real moral issue including race.

She certainly had heard of Jesus ....and her obvious faith in Him and her humble demeanor and posture toward Him surely signify a saving faith to me. Aside from that evidence I cannot say.

Well....you could be right....maybe the disciples didn't see the truth of their attitudes about non jews and woman until after they received the Holy Spirit....on the other hand.....guilt is a powerful learning tool when used correctly. Jesus knew what He was doing.

Thinking of this question again....she may have been more saved than the disciples were at this point and time in Jesus ministry.

I think Jesus knew it at the moment her heard her voice and capitalized on the opportunity to teach His disciples.
