He did not offer help because number 1, the City did not ask him to....he did not help number 2 because certain parts of his church had 10 feet of standing water in it and he did not want people sent to his church and then die, if the flood waters rushed in....my paraphrase...his own words to the media.....
Only judgemental Christians would lash out and attack someone displaying this kind of wisdom.....because they cannot get it...
What would have happened if he opened up the church and the surrounding area of the church suffered catastrophic flooding and people died....some of you are yelling Barabbas here and should just shut up....
My own perosnal disclaimer...I do not agree with much that Joel teaches....but that does not mean I think for a second I am qualified to lynch him...

Joel is what many call gospel light
he is an encourager and many have been helped which does not mean they have not gone on to deeper things
at least he does not proclaim himself a prophet after the order of Moses or some such or slap a glory crown on his brow

exactly my point, why does one need the city or anyone else to give them an ok to help people. if one truly cared about helping they would just go help without thinking of an excuse to get out of helping. i bet ole Joel does not ask the city if its ok to take their money.
if only more people had the wisdom to turn their back on those in need.

i only know the fruits of a few who say thats the only preacher they listen to....

2 Timothy 4:1-4
4 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

I don't listen to him
only heard him a few times but have looked into his site. what you see on tv is a small portion of the whole thing
people who are judging do so by what they see, they are not judging fairly
not everyone is a street preacher
I have been involved with leadership quite a while and I have learned quick judgement is usually fatal at both ends
not all the scripture you posted is applicable even though it sounds good
apart from actual heresy, I would hold my tongue on judging fruit here
there are sites linked to in this forum that actually are heretical in there teachings
