I don't understand how you can believe part of what the Bible says and not all of it. How do you pick and choose what you want? God says "if you love me you will keep my commandments". When Christ died on the cross the church was established and we are told how to live a faithful life by worshipping Him. Acts 20:7 says the disciples came together to "break bread" (partake of the Lord's Supper) and preaching.

There is a pattern the church is to follow to worship God. We have to obey all of God's commands not just believe in Him. At least that's what I understand
Matthew 22:36-40

[SUP]"[/SUP][SUP]36 [/SUP]“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]38 [/SUP]This is the first and greatest commandment. [SUP]39 [/SUP]And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[SUP][b][/SUP] [SUP]40 [/SUP]All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”"

Those are the only commandments I worry about. If anybody wants to add to those and start tacking on the whole do this/do that thing.....they can go for it. I won't be doing so myself

In John 1: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [SUP]2 [/SUP]He was with God in the beginning. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. [SUP]4 [/SUP]In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. [SUP]5 [/SUP]The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[SUP][a][/SUP] it.

3:16[SUP]16 [/SUP]For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. [SUP]18 [/SUP]Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.

8:[SUP]12 [/SUP]When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

17:After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed:
“Father, the hour has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. [SUP]2 [/SUP]For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. [SUP]3 [/SUP]Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. [SUP]4[/SUP]I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.

Gensis
Gensis 1:In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

[SUP]26 [/SUP]Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[SUP][a][/SUP] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
But you go ahead deny all these scriptures confirming who Christ is in relation to God and the beginning.

The "us" are your parents. Again if you have a Father you also have a mother. Her name is wisdom and she acts as a woman should.

wow, really? what kind of nonsense is this.. now your mocking God..

That's an excuse to NOT study scripture.

wow you have issues.. Not study scripture? Scripture tells us there are things we will not be able to comprehend until we get to heaven.

are you always this pridefull??

I can easily make an argument that wisdom is Christ. If you would read all of Proverbs 8 I can see many correlations between Christ and wisdom

“The Lord brought me forth as the first of his works,[SUP][c][/SUP][SUP][d][/SUP]
before his deeds of old;
[SUP]23 [/SUP]I was formed long ages ago,
at the very beginning, when the world came to be.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]When there were no watery depths, I was given birth,
when there were no springs overflowing with water;
[SUP]25 [/SUP]before the mountains were settled in place,
before the hills, I was given birth,
[SUP]26 [/SUP]before he made the world or its fields
or any of the dust of the earth.
[SUP]27 [/SUP]I was there when he set the heavens in place,
when he marked out the horizon on the face of the deep,
[SUP]28 [/SUP]when he established the clouds above
and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,
[SUP]29 [/SUP]when he gave the sea its boundary
so the waters would not overstep his command,
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.
[SUP]30 [/SUP] Then I was constantly[SUP][e][/SUP] at his side.
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence,
[SUP]31 [/SUP]rejoicing in his whole world
and delighting in mankind. [SUP]32 [/SUP]“Now then, my children, listen to me;
blessed are those who keep my ways.
[SUP]33 [/SUP]Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not disregard it.
[SUP]34 [/SUP]Blessed are those who listen to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
[SUP]35 [/SUP]For those who find me find life
and receive favor from the Lord.
[SUP]36 [/SUP]But those who fail to find me harm themselves;
all who hate me love death.”

Brother I encourage you go to church. Denomination wise, all truth is God's truth no matter where it is found, but need to attend a church,
I agree with you brother, anywhere God's truth is being preached in earnest it is always praise worthy. Anywhere 2 or 3 believers are gathered, there he is in the midst of them.....worship isn't restricted to gathering at a physical building.

Proverbs 8

8*Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

2*She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

3*She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

4*Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.

5*O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart.

6*Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things.

7*For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.

8*All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them.

9*They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.

10*Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.

11*For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

12*I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.

13*The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

14*Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

15*By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

16*By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.

17*I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

18*Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

19*My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.

20*I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

21*That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

22*The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old.

23*I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.

24*When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water.

25*Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth:

26*While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world.

27*When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth:

28*When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:

29*When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:

30*Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

31*Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

32*Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways.

33*Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.

34*Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

35*For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord.

36*But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

James 3:13-18

13*Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14*But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15*This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16*For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17*But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18*And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Revelation 17

17*And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:

2*With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.

3*So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

4*And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:

5*And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.

6*And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.

7*And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.

8*The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

9*And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

10*And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.

11*And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.

12*And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

13*These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.

14*These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

15*And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

16*And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.

17*For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.

18*And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

Is this the same wisdom in proverbs 8 35"For who so findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. 36But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death."

So if I find wisdom I find life and favor in the Lord. So i don't need to believe in Jesus cause I found wisdom??

What do you have to do to be saved?
eph 2:8-9
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— [SUP]9 [/SUP]not by works, so that no one can boast

john 3:16-17
[SUP]6 [/SUP]For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. [SUP]17 [/SUP]For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

LOL Shame on me
When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.
[SUP] [/SUP]As evening approached, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a remote place, and it’s already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.”Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. Then the Moses, raised his staff and stretched out his hand over the sea to divide the water so the disciples could gather fish and manna that fell from the sky, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. [SUP] [/SUP]They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about 144,000. 12 thousand from from each tribe of Isreal and then a new heaven and a new earth came to be for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

Re: Let's review your ignorance...

lol.. don;t be so haughty just because you might know a little greek. It does not fit in the greek or the english..

Might know you, and the one who you sent.

Who is you?? the one who sent Christ.

The you is the true God. not the one who was sent.

Nice try though.
Jesus is the true God, in both the Greek and the English.

Since you are Greek ignorant, and have posited nothing but your unreferenced opinion, what do you really have?

Nothing.

Nothing.

Thanks.. You just showed your true self..

It does not say Jesus is the true God in the greek or the english. that is just your opinion..

He did not say that they may know me,The one true God, and myself, since I sent myself

It says they may know YOU, the one true God, and Jesus Christ, who YOU (the one true God) sent.

But if you want to twist the word of God.. feel free.

Jesus is God, I am not denying this, but if you want to prove it, at least use passages which prove it.. And not your twisted interpretations of passages which do not help our cause.

but if you want to claim yourself to be God and have the right to judge people. Feel free.. I will worship my true Father thanks to His son..

The trinity is a hard concept to grasp, I am not as certain as you (bowman) that anyone who does not believe in the trinity is not going to heaven. Remember a pleasant teacher is best. I do believe your correct in the trintiy John 1:1 think you should have used John 17:1-5 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: “Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, [SUP]2 [/SUP]as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should[SUP][a][/SUP] give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. [SUP]4 [/SUP]I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. [SUP]5 [/SUP]And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Full context in English does not change the fact the true God is Jesus.

Perhaps people need to think about where they are artifically inserting their commas...

Luke 7:31-35

31*And the Lord said, Whereunto then shall I liken the men of this generation? and to what are they like?

32*They are like unto children sitting in the marketplace, and calling one to another, and saying, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; we have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.

33*For John the Baptist came neither eating bread nor drinking wine; and ye say, He hath a devil.

34*The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!

35*But wisdom is justified of all her children.

You may also apply names to me. Earlier in this thread myself my "pastor" and my congregation were all drunk. But before you carry on in your childish ways in mocking what you do not understand, who is this "wisdom" Jesus is talking about and who are her children? Does He mean Himself?
