With that logic why don't we do it today? Is this type of behavior acceptable in a modern moral society?

Your ignorance that does not see that is no more wrong that sentencing criminals to life in jail, or death.

In fact, I'd rather have a beating than the latter.

Love thy enemies. Where have I lied? The truth is the Bible still says these things.

Well, with this guy saying these sorts of things, it is obvious that he is here for one purpose. He is simply here to bash Christianity.
You got it.

He's a reviler and a mocker.

Your willful ignorance is evident.
Knowledge of the Word of God is not ignorance.

But your ignorance in the following is still on the table.

Elin said:
Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn't know they were doing anything wrong.

The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it.
What part of "he knew is duty, he refused to do it" did you not understand?
Would you like habenero sauce on your crow?

Well I treat my slaves very well. They get paid in gram-crackers and get to sleep indoors.

Are you blind? Read the next sentence please. Here it is!

"But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly."

Now do you think "only lightly" means 3 lashings instead of 10? What punishment was
necessary for slaves? Since there were no conditions mentioned it must have been up
to the slave owner's discretion.

My point (which seems to be obvious to everyone except the few here trying to justify
owning people as property) is that Jesus/God condones the owning and punishment of slaves.

Refer to my original post #10 and the video in #17 for an education.

Slavery no matter what your preacher or theologian says is WRONG and IMMORAL.

I'm ashamed to be a member of the same species as you.

What part of 'disagreeing with me is wrong' don't you understand?

Or, perhaps this is a conversation with many parties and unilateral statements of right and wrong are out of place here...

One could discuss the when why and how of a topic, but this is not that. There's more to these issues than a public school education would tell a person.

All i'm doing is quoting the Bible. Just because you don't like what it says doesn't mean
it doesn't say what it does.
