Hey, you forgot to sign your post "Mr. Love Thy Neighbor". Hypocrite.
Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so. :)

I love your internet bravado. Do you dare speak in such manner face to face?

Rhetorical question. We all know the answer is a resounding no to that one. :p

Keep preaching your Pharisaic hate; I'll be keeping you in prayer. That's the difference between us.

We are set free from ourselves.
We become children of God.

A child of God does not sin. For sin is evil and hateful, the opposite of love
When was the last time you sinned?

So where are all these alleged "forgotten teachings of Christ"? I'm still waiting to be enlightened.
Somewhere between we who know we need God's grace and those who think they don't sin.

When was the last time you sinned?
Earlier today a lustful thought came into my head and I took it captive and put it to death with my old man.
Out of love for God and my wife and children. The key is to not entertain such thoughts. The flesh is bound to bring them up from time to time, especially for a young man. But it is up to us to walk by the Spirit and not allow such things to take hold in our hearts minds and desires.

Keep your eyes on the prize and do everything out of love and obedience to our Father above

If you love sin, you will sin.
If you love God, why would you sin against Him?

We only start out by obeying the law.
When love becomes perfected in us, there is no more need for the law.
We become a law unto ourselves
So my question to you, WheresEnoch is:

Are you keeping the law perfectly now?

For that matter:

Are you perfect?

You see, my Bible says that I will not be perfect till I see Christ face to face, when he returns.

"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Phil 1:6

"Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is." 1 John 3:2

"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known." 1 Cor. 13:12

"And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit." 2 Cor. 3:18

"Being transformed" or μεταμορφούμεθα metamorpsoumetha, is in the present indicative passive in the Greek. That means it is the Holy Spirit who works in our hearts and our lives, changing and transforming us into the image of Christ, until one day we see him face to face, and the work is done.

I look forward to that glorious day!

But it is not going to happen because of will power in this life.

And this is correlates with my understanding of this passage:

Romans 7
For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19 For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20 Now if I do what I do not want, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

I do not want to have such thoughts, yet they are inevitable as nothing good comes from my flesh.
But as long as they are not entertained, then it is not us who is sinning but sin which lives in us.
As long as we stop them and bring them before God then we are all good.

So WheresEnoch, perfect or not? In this lifetime or not?

And if you are perfect, where does humility fit into this picture?

I respect your humble honesty, Brother, and with that I will always be here to listen to you, guide you and most definitely be open to learn from you. Be at peace and know you have salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.

Also know there is nothing you can ever do to make God stop loving you. So when you trip up, and at 25 you have many years ahead of you to trip up, know that God will look at your faith in His Son, not your trip ups.

Don't be imprisoned by thinking you need to be perfect and will never sin because that will simply never be the case. We live by grace in faith in Jesus Christ; and His grace is sufficient. Rejoice!

No I am not perfect as I am still in the flesh. I do not focus on trying to keep the law per se but do everything out of love for God and people. Love must be the goal, for to dwell on sin will not achieve the righteousness of Christ which we strive for.

I just have this same confidence:

"For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus." Phil 1:6

And keep on moving forward, knowing that the work of the Holy Spirit in me will continue until the day of Christ if I continue to pick up my cross day by day

The humility is in love and knowing that it is not a work that we do of ourselves, but a work of God through the Holy Spirit if we will only submit to it

temptation is not sin - acting upon that temptation is sin.

I've already addressed the true difference between us elsewhere and also previously addressed which one of us is truly a "Pharisee" in Christ's eyes:

JesusistheChrist said:
Btw, according to Jesus (not that some of you pay Him any mind), here is the true distinction between a Pharisee and a Christian:

Matthew chapter 5

[17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
[19] Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20] For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
[21] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
[22] But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
[23] Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
[24] Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
[25] Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
[26] Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.
[27] Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:
[28] But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.
[29] And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
[30] And if thy right hand offend thee, cut if off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
[31] It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:
[32] But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
[33] Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
[34] But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God's throne:
[35] Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.
[36] Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.
[37] But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
[38] Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:
[39] But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
[40] And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also.
[41] And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain.
[42] Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.
[43] Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.
[44] But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
[45] That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
[46] For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
[47] And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
[48] Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Yes, unlike the Pharisees of old and the modern day Pharisees like yourself, Utah and several others here, Jesus said that we are to DO AND TEACH the commandments which He went on to explain. Yes, Jesus went on to contrast a mere outward keeping of the Old Testament commandments or that which "they had heard had been said of them of old time" with the INWARD KEEPING OF THE SAME IN THE LIVES OF NEW TESTAMENT SAINTS OR CHRISTIANS. Yes, every time that Jesus said "but I say unto you", He went on to explain how these very same Old Testament commandments pertain to New Testament saints.

Well, again, I don't expect you to hear it in that Jesus said that those who are not of God cannot hear God's Words (John chapter 8), but I do hope that there are some who are following this thread who still have ears to hear what God's Spirit is actually saying.

Impenitent Pharisees like yourself have nothing to look forward to other than the damnation of hell.

Personally, I'm innocent of your blood and the blood of all of the other likeminded Pharisees here who are just as lost as you presently are.
Regarding my "bravado", as you call it, I'll glady repeat anything that I've said to you here online directly to your face. In fact, I'm scheduled to be in New Jersey early tomorrow morning and I'll gladly meet with you, rehash what I've said with you on this forum directly to your face and then go on my merry way if you'd but like me to. Feel free to PM me with a meeting place and time.

Finally, your hypocrisy is both astounding and somewhat befuddling. I mean, you repeatedly rail against any claim of obedience to Christ, as do some of your internet buddies, thinking the same to be "legalism" AND THEN YOU SEEK TO REBUKE ME BY TELLING ME THAT I ALLEGEDLY DON'T "LOVE MY NEIGHBOR AS MYSELF" WHICH IS AN OLD TESTAMENT COMMANDMENT GIVEN THROUGH MOSES AND WHICH HAS OBVIOUSLY CARRIED OVER INTO THE NEW TESTAMENT EVEN THOUGH PEOPLE LIKE YOU REGULARLY DENY THE SAME.

You really are a mess, but there's still time for you to repent and to get right with God.

This kind of reminds me when I used to work with a pastors son. I can't remember what denomination he was.

I would always ask him "What would Jesus do?" when he would start to lose his cool.

His answer every time was "Make a whip?".

No Kyle, that's not what He would do......

Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

The word translated "freed" is actually Justified.

SO it reads:

Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is Justified from sin.

SO one must be dead to be justified from sin.

Read the rest of the chapter for what it means to be dead.

I truly understand your passion for souls as well as your frustrations with those who claim to be followers of GOD and yet live a life of practicing sin. What we must do is Pray for them for it is only GOD who can truly cause one to Repent and die to the flesh. Those who fall in to their fleshly sin have not truly given it to CHRIST, They have not had yokes broken and strongholds lifted as well as accepted Deliverance. Some struggle because they feel GOD will not forgive them and others overlook it all together. Repentance is of Great importance it allows us to start again on a clean slate and be strong enough to walk away from that which has caused us to fall multiple times. Without the POWER of GOD from within one will not conquer their demons. It is very hard to see and witness one fall in the pit time and time again but when we think of the things we do it allows room for compassion. This is why we are to examine ourselves. Just because one sin is not our own we can not lower them but we are to lift them. One who truly loves the LORD will seek and adhere to Godly counsel, but finger pointing and judging will only cause them to express their sin more openly. What we must consider is those who we walk with and are close to us sins are more exposed.

Now those who blatantly chose not to deal with their strongholds will have consequences and we are to leave them for GOD to handle, and love them anyway not like or accept their sins but love them.

Blessings!!!!!!!

Jesus did make a whip. When Abba directed Him to. And He used it. When Abba said.

A lot of people today need discipline(training) in righteousness, and are not getting it.

Jesus gave very stern/ permanent(unchanged today)

warnings to everyone who teaches others

certain things , and those certain things are seen every hour on this thread and forum and site.

A lot of Jesus' disciples walked away from Him when His teaching got too hard for them,

and there seems to be a lot today who won't even get started with Him for the same reason -

they're not even willing to start being His disciple, because the cost is too great.

Your posts could potentially contain 100% of Bible quotes, but if you don't know what they mean, then it profits you nothing.
I agree. There are obviously a lot of people here who don't know what the different verses quoted in this forum actually mean. That's why we need the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us and make His way straight before us.
