The definition is ungodly. Homeward himself as a person, I wouldn't know.

I would agree with that aswell, but that has nothing to do with status and function. unless you break the rules.
You seem to have a desire to rule over women. A person who lives by the Golden Rule has no such desire. If I have a disagreement with a woman, it is my responsibility to work it out with her, not order her to do what I want her to do.

Re: "Women keep silent in the churches": Has that ceased or is it still for today?

Wow. That got ugly.

I just have a couple of points. I apologize if they were addressed earlier and I missed them.

1. The epistles are letters in response to a specific situation, in a specific church, in a specific point in history. Yes, they have a lot of truth and potential application for today. But be wary of forming strict doctrines from them because it is like hearing only one side of a telephone conversation: you hear a lot of ideas but lack a lot of context.

2. Grace should always be exercised. Always. I promise your phallus won't cease functioning because a woman tells you something. And we women need to be mindful to boldly wield the truth without cutting off any heads.

3. If you apply the aforementioned scripture universally, where does it end? Does this mean that women cannot share Biblical truth where a man can hear it, even outside the church? Is it sinful for a Christian man to read a theological book or article written by a woman or sing a song whose tune or lyrics were written by a woman?

4. Women can be doctors, CEOs, managers, law enforcement, politicians, teachers--all which may require her to exercise authority over males. And we encourage women to excel in these roles. Why does that stop at the church? Are we allowed to use our intellect only for secular purposes? Is there something inherently more holy about the male brain?

5. If women are not allowed to share spiritual insight and truth, why does God even bother with giving it to us? Why not just make us happy little Stepford wives with just enough intelligence to keep from drooling in a cup?

6. Much of our Bible, including the gospels, exists because women told men what the Lord did for them: Hannah's song and the angel appearing to Mary, for example. If Jesus though that the truth spoken to men by women was wrong, then he would not have his resurrection witnessed first by women.

"Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God." -1 Corinthians 6:9-10

"But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.” -Revelation 21:8

Hello.
I would be a continuist because of the way that i interpret what paul said about women keeping quiet in church.I think it means quiet as in prefering the man to be in the lead position. Not that the women can't lead.

Isn't this your way of stating that there are some things you would forbid women from doing?

Yes, it was the Lord who told us to be just. And justice requires we all live by the same rules.

Yes, we are to follow what Jesus says, and what Jesus says is that we are to be just:

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you tithe mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier matters of the law, justice and mercy and faith; these you ought to have done, without neglecting the others. Matt 23:23 RSV

And justice means that we all follow the same rules.

What do you mean by "function like a lady"? And what are you referring to when you say "status"?

Just as I say, you have an equal status before God..yet Male and Femles function differently..

God's word makes this clear.. but if you only read the red letters you wont get it.

What do you mean by "males and females function differently," and what does that have to do with forcing women to live by a different set of rules than men?

No. We are SUPPOSED to live by the Lord's rules. He is the one who told us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us. That means that we men should do unto women as we would have them do unto us. Is that what you do? Or are you trying to force them to follow rules that you, yourself, don't follow?
