Seminaries were started by the Catholic Church as part of the counter reformation, it seems the Catholic Church just keeps on giving :p protestant denominations are mostly daughters of Rome

Getting cold in here.
Maybe it's all those snowjobs that UG & JM are pouring on everyone, lol.[/SIZE]

Amen CherieR :)

Good post Joanie. I would say that God's love is based on who he is... God is love. Though I believe that God's heart is especially tender to his children and the broken-hearted.

do you suppose we can have actual factual proof of your statements here?

otherwise, we all can just say whatever and too bad if someone does not agree

do you know what doctrine is?

7seas., This topic of our standing being in our great High Priest will always be good news no matter how old we are in the faith. If you don't get excited about I'm sorry for you.

Jesus said He is the light of the world. He who follows Him will not be walking in the dark but will have the light which is life. This is what this thread is about. Not about JP or me or you but Jesus and our standing being in Him and not ourselves.

Despite what you say about everyone already knowing about this righteousness we have in Christ., you are incorrect. But if you know it all than be thankful more can know about it and share about it. Since you have nothing more to learn you should realize others like me want to continue to learn and share about our walk of faith.

Instead of trying to taint everything that is said here., why not start your own thread. I notice you have not done that. I'm sure you must have something on your heart to share besides your annoyance with my threads here.

Again., far from running off on emotions of condemnation and or self righteousness., we hold to the truth that God's love is based on Jesus Christ and His righteous standing. So because of Jesus., we can stand regardless of the world., the flesh and the devil.

We don't stand in our own righteousness but we stand in His. This is what the OP is all about. Our standing is wrapped up in our Great High Priest Jesus. He is our righteousness and only because of Jesus can we hold on steady as we are being the righteousness of God IN Christ. We know that He is our confidence., not in the works we do or don't do.

2 Cor. 5:21 For our sake He made Christ (virtually) to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become (endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of) the righteousness of God. Amplified Bible

He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
NAS.

Those who don't profess this kind of righteousness don't understand what Christ has done for them and can't accept it for others either. So there will always be a major difference in believers who have yet to learn about who they are IN Christ. And we who have learned will continue to profess Christ and His righteousness given to us so they can also learn and be set free from condemnation. Romans 8:1-2

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

Worth repeating again for those who missed it the first time.

I will simply say again, that this is not the way to respond

you try so hard to make it personal when it is not

unless your name is Joseph Prince, you have nothing to be so angry about

Responding the way I have and btw not in anger but by clarification. Clarification and giving reference to what I said and didn't say after you misrepresented my posts. It does get a bit tiring to have to clarify myself when you mis quote me on my own threads. I do however wonder why you don't start your own threads and discuss the things that are in your heart?

Here is another post that says the same thing about the finished work of Jesus as our great High Priest....

Romans 8:1 in the original txt does not have the added portion that gives a condition for not being condemned except "to those who are IN Christ Jesus" the part that says ; (who walk not after the flesh but after the spirit) was added on by the translators. Except in certain translations.

Actually the only Bible I know of that is translated right is the NAS. I'm sure there are others but I'm just not sure which ones they are. Even my favorite Amplified version and the King James has the added on part. People were and still are so hard pressed to accept that there is NO condemnation if you are in Christ Jesus (period and done). Thank YOU JESUS.

I never heard of JP until about 5 yrs ago. And Paul Ellis only a year or so ago. At 59 yrs. old and with all my years of living and learning and relearning I thankfully just happen to agree with those 2 guys as well as other preachers and teachers like them. That doesn't disqualify me from having my own say and opinion about the Bible and my personal faith here on CC despite how some here may keep trying to make it about other preachers and teachers.

There is nothing wrong with saying certain preachers and teachers have encouraged us and taught us things we were grateful for. It's nice to find believers who we can find some major learning and encouragement from. If anyone has please know that is a blessing from God.

The finished work of Jesus Christ is He did it all when He went to the cross and died in our place. He took our place and paid the price for the sin of the world. He took the blame, shame, guilt., pain., sickness., death and condemnation all upon Himself for us all. He "received" our sin and we received His righteousness. (Imputation) His righteousness was imputed to us and our sin was imputed to Him. How amazing is that?!

So His work was totally 100% finished., He will never have to shed His blood again., never have to pay any more for us. He lives forever and will be our Mediator and Great High Priest forever.

He is totally not like the OT high priests who died and had to be replaced with younger high priests to keep making sacrifice after sacrifice for the people. What Jesus did was complete. He even said "it is finished" That is the finished work of Christ to me. I can't add anything to what Jesus did. He finished it all by Himself.

To try and add works to that finished work is what frustrates the grace of God in the lives of believers.

The reason I'm not banned is I don't do what some have accused me of and my posts are pretty self explanatory and consistent. I wish I could post better and give better and more info as those who have gone on before me but for now this is the best I can do.

I'm sorry that there are Christians who prefer to accuse and label based on their personal disagreement with different interpretations of Scripture but to them I say "hello" that is what Christian chatting is for. I can stand by my posts without any shame of breaking rules or spreading false doctrine.

Well, well. It looks like you used Wikipedia for the first half of the post and your imagination on the rest, saying protestant denominations are the daughters of Rome.
I suppose that's what people like Prince do to confirm their doctrines, huh?
When you can't get them to buy the idea that the denominations have always believed the same thing you do, you tell them instead their doctrine's wickedly wrong and yours is right.
My guess is you prolly made some seminarians pretty mad at you.:)
