The guy's fantastic. Not for years have I seen a politician in the American presidential race who seems to care so much about actual issues. Giving people a better standard of living, cutting the throat of corruption, providing public healthcare -- all honorable goals. I'd like to see him become President.

There is a point you should understand.
The rich will always be rich because when their taxes are raised, they just raise their income.
I once worked for a man that said he did not care how much his taxes were raised. He needed one million dollars a year to support his family's lifestyle. Everytime his taxes went up he raised prices and cut labor cost.
In the end, the working class will ALWAYS pay the taxes.

The problem with this attitude is that we are quickly eliminating the working class. We will soon only have the poor and the rich with no middle. How much can you tax poor people? They have no money to take! Rich people whine that they pay an unfair percentage of taxes, but fail to consider that once they eliminate the middle class they will pay 100% of the taxes because there will be no one else left to tax.
I truly love my brothers and sisters in Christ, but just the fact that the evils and perils of socialism have to be explained to even some older Americans, makes me incredibly saddened, amazed, and befuddled. It's like the past hundred years of misery, fear, horrible economic conditions, and MURDER, caused by socialism didn't happen!!
Most on the left, right, and center bemoan the job the government is doing. Congress has about a 12 % approval rating. This proves how EVERYBODY is disgusted with government. So think about, the Government is doing a lousy job, nobody is happy with it, YET THE PLAN AND HOPE BY THOSE ON THE LEFT IS TO GIVE MOOOOORE POWER AND CONTROL TO THE GOVERNMENT!!!! As Sheldon would say, in what universe does that make sense?

I have a lot of problems with Ayn Rand. She was an atheist to the end. But her economic outlook is spot on:

So think about, the Government is doing a lousy job, nobody is happy with it, YET THE PLAN AND HOPE BY THOSE ON THE LEFT IS TO GIVE MOOOOORE POWER AND CONTROL TO THE GOVERNMENT!!!! You missed my point.
If you raise the tax on the rich, they make that reduction in income by INCREASING the cost of living of the working/middle class.
In other words, they pass the buck. They pass that increased tax burden on in higher prices, lower wages, increased production, and in the end they still have as much wealth and sometimes more.
