Only thing missing that I see is prayers of His saints
Ooooh, you are right, Sister Ariel! I failed to include the 18th verse in Ephesians chapter 6.

[SUP]18 [/SUP]Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Thank you for pointing that out, Sister! *hugs*

Anyways, I was thinking the loins gird about with Truth is exclusively setting out to train other believers and in making sure you are a good Berean having correct doctrine on Scripture in Truth. How so? Well, Scripture mentions how certain men of God had children out of their loins. So one needs to study to show themselves approved unto God and then they need to teach others (i.e. To feed the sheep or to build up the faith in their spiritual family). This is a part of having fellowship. We are stronger together than we are by ourselves. For nobody goes into battle as a one man army by themselves. They duplicate themselves and are stronger together in Christ.

Whereas, wielding the Sword is more an offensive weapon where one quotes Scripture in discussing various different topics about life to those who need the Light of God's Word.

Feet shod with the Gospel of Peace is about setting out to exclusively preach and or spread the good news of Jesus Christ to other people.
Though your ideas here are good, we must look at the Armour of God in the context with which Paul uses it.

Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces in the heavenly realms. "

Paul is talking about war. A spiritual war where Satan is intent upon destroying the Church of the living God. The Armour Paul describes it a total "battle gear" we are to use in this war.

As DC noted there is no Armour for our back. We are never to turn tail and run but stand firm in the Power of God and fight. Every part of this Armour is for facing the enemy head on and full force with the Power of God. Every bit of Armour has a center focus on God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. So when we fight it's not just us but we have the Trinity with us as our Power. And we have the Power of the Trinity at all times. Jesus didn't flee from Satan when tempted. He stood His ground and fought. Final ending...Satan ran :)

Here is one of the cool things I think about the Armour of God. Even though we are prepared to stand alone if needed once we "hook up" with other Christians we build a very powerful wall.

Ancient armies worked their forces to work combined with each other. Look at the Roman and Spartan fighting styles (just to name two). They fought with each persons defense in mind, those behind, beside and possibly in front. And they used their weapons as one giant weapon.

We as Christians can do the same through prayer for each other at all times. Not just in times of need but at all times.

And Satan thinks he can win? Haha!!

But we must be ever vigilant always on guard. Never giving the enemy a foothold. Never giving ground. As the words used in a movie..."give them nothing! But take from them everything!"

Give Satan nothing! But take from him everything!

Satan fights us on a loose ground of lies and deceit. But we, no matter what ground we stand, fight from a solid ground our feet firmly dug in on truth.

Come on fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Hook up shields with me let's form that line of defense that Satan fears. Let's be that line that God has planned for us. For the Glory of God none of us shall fail because we have each other to help us in this fight!!! We have the true God as our "general" haha he has the perfect strategy. Actually God already won...the enemy knows God won but will try to drag all he can away until the end.

Sorry dude you lost :) you know...just saying :)

I suggest you re-read what I wrote and do a little study on the limitations that Jesus had by dis-robing himself of the glory that he had with the Father before the casting down of the world.....Like not knowing the day of his return for one. He is the primo example of what man can be when 100 percent led by the Spirit of God and the Word of God and for the record I never said he ever CONSIDERED DOING ANY EVIL!

I don't believe for one second that Jesus would have failed and or given in to the enticement which would have led to sin<--the part you skipped in what I wrote

He learned to be OBEDIENT thru the things which he SUFFERED!
First, I already stated that Jesus suppressed His divine attribute of having all knowledge (i.e. Omniscience). I believe this was necessary so as to be like a man. So that is why He didn't know certain things.

Second, how can you be tempted by something if you don't consider in doing the evil of that which tempts you? In other words, let's say you are deathly allergic to nuts. That eating just one nut would kill you. Now, if I offered you some nuts, would be tempted in any way to eat them if your desire was to live?

There is a story about an ancient Roman soldier, I cant remember the name, but the story ministered to me, maybe it will to you, it goes something like this.
He killed a lot of enemies on the battlefield and then they had his right hand cut off int he midst of the battle.
He retreated back, took a huge chunk/bar of metal, and somehow braced it or welded it together and extended his arm and disregarding the horrible pain, he went back into the battle, using this chunk of metal as a weapon. He killed many more and was greatly honored after the battle (he survived and lived on long after). It is a true story but I forgot the name and didnt succeed to google it out.

And one more in "300" style, very inspiring in the sense of spiritual warfare:
"If they take my weapon, I will fight them unarmed. If they break my arms, I will kick the enemy with my legs. If they break my legs, I will bite them with my teeth. If they break my teeth, I'll crawl to the midst of the road and lay there, TO STAND IN THE WAY OF THE ENEMY!!!":D

Also, I want to add that because Jesus suppressed His Omniscience, He learned (gained knowledge) in being obedient as a man. Jesus was not actually rebelling against the Father (Which would be the opposite of obedience).

No not saying that. I'm saying that you took it from a different perspective than what Paul did. I personally think they are totally valid points. Maybe I should have stated it better.

I'm sorry if you took it the wrong way.

I didn't take it the wrong way, my friend. Just would like an explanation with Scripture that would refute how the things i stated do not relate in fighting Satan.

Was Jesus temped or not? And does not your statement above contract the bolded in your statement below?

When a guy comes by with some hot watches he wants to sell me, I can say to others that I was tempted by some guy but yet I had no actual interest in the temptation given. It's the same with Jesus when he was tempted by the devil. Jesus did not actually consider in doing evil (i.e. to be tempted himself to do wrong); The temptation was only one way by the one who was tempting him. For Jesus said if you even look upon another in lust, you have committed adultery already in your heart. See, Jesus could not think about doing evil as a consideration because it would have been a sin; And Jesus was without sin.

I tried to add this but it "timed" out on me

From what I know about you (from another forum) you are a "build them up" view. I am a "take it to the enemy stop them by any means" view. Both working in harmony. another example; you are building the ranks I'm on the front line. Both doing our job for the Glory of God! Our enemy doesn't work in that type of syncronicity. Personally I think it's the perfect balance because I know if I falter you are there to pick me back up. And I know if I fall you will take my place. Perfect balance. Only made perfect by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
