Here is what you seem to miss.
The spirit does a few things,
Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Joh 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
Those who do not believe in Christ are in their sins and the Holy Spirit first convicts us of sin.
Sin is known through the law given on stone as you know so I won't post scripture on that.
Then we are convicted on:
Joh 16:10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
If you read the OP it talks of this but what happens when Jesus goes to the father what happens when we are filled with the Spirit?
Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
He sends the Holy Spirit into us and empowers us by putting that same law on our hearts so that we obey/ righteousness. as it is written:
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
now the very fact that conviction of sin comes first means we then know what sin is and our need of saving. So then we will allow God to write all his law on our hearts so that we sin not.
I wont go into judgment right now.
