I would say that if there is Southern idiocy, you are it's poster boy. You respond to intelligent discussion by telling others they are talking about something unrelated, then you post something like this. And you tell your imaginary story about what you say took place outside of a Family Dollar store. What we know for sure about your stories are you tend to change the details as you are pressed about discrepancies. Once you have proven you are not telling the truth, you can't just wander into other threads and think you'll be taken seriously. You are a recovering drug addict who may or may not be relapsing and you dwell on anti-police topics and feel you are a victim. You even joke about getting a lawyer to sue the police. That's something all criminals threaten to do despite never having cause or the finances to follow through. Unfortunately, this web site is your rehab therapy, and you will continue telling tall tales and misremembering your fuzzy drug addled past. Now quit picking on southerners.
Oh...and what intelligent discussion? I have presented documented historical facts regarding the Civil War and the Confederacy as well as valid reasons why the people of New Orleans with want these monuments removed. not one person has offered any valid reply. .all I have seen is deflection and rhetoric
Right about now, you are upset. You just read that the grand jury is not going to indict anyone for the death of Sandra Bland. Like all police involved deaths, you quickly assumed the police killed her. You took her side. You didn't want or need to hear the evidence. Now you must go sniff around the online news in hopes of finding another police shooting you can discuss, saying the police were in the wrong.
For those not familiar, Sandra Bland was stopped on a traffic infraction. She was non-compliant with the officer who stopped her. She blew smoke in his face and then kicked him. She only complied after he drew his taser weapon and stated he would "light her up". She went to jail. She was booked on aggravated assault. She contacted family to come bail her out. They refused, and left her in jail for three days. She became depressed and upset with her family. She took a bed sheet and hung herself. Her family now claims she was murdered and that if she was white, she would still be alive. The town is mostly black. The staff at the jail is almost all black. The grand jury was mostly black. She is dead because she was depressed and killed herself. Dude 653 believes differently. He views the police as an occupying force that is always up to no good. Before any investigations are held and before any evidence is heard, Dude likes to conclude that the police were in the wrong. After the police are cleared of wrong-doing, Dude never posts a message saying he got it wrong, again. He just moves on to the next police involved incident and accuses them of wrong-doing.
Now Dude feels he should judge all southerners and all historic figures who lived in the south and fought in the civil war. This statue story will not end it for him or the city council members. They'll want songs about the civil war banned. They'll want to confiscate and destroy history books until they remove civil war leaders from the south. They will discuss reparations that need to be paid to all people related to slaves. They would approve of confiscating property of relatives of plantation owners. They will never be satisfied and will never feel justice has been served.

You know Dude I read your thread on how much poor grammar annoys you. You know what annoys me? People that flap their gums without thinking about what they are saying. You're as racist as you claim others to be.Im married to a Southerner who is a wonderful man, and is not racist. He's not a KKK member.He's not driving though neighborhoods with the Reb flag hanging out his window. I resent that you are painting the South with one racist brush. You're doing the very same thing you are accusing southerners of doing. I've had enough of you bashing southerners. I married into a southern family and they would literally give you the shirt off their backs. You are talking about my husband when you spout this nonsense and it offends me to the core. There are racist people all over the country. I love the south and the southern people and I'd rather live here than anywhere else in the country. Respect is a two way street. My black nephew was stopped for doing 55 in a 35 zone. The white officer checked his license and insurance, wrote him a warning, and sent him on his way with a promise that he would get a ticket the next time he was stopped for speeding. My nephew treated the officer with respect, and the officer not only treated him with respect, he rewarded my nephew's respect. If this lady had put out her cigarette when she was asked, there would have been no reason for escalation. Again, respect is a two way street.

I watched the Last Waltz a month ago. The 1978 movie by Martin Scorsese, about the final concert of The Band. It included performances by noted artists; Eric Clapton, Neil Diamond, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Emmylou Harris, Ringo Star, Doctor John, Van Morrison, The Staple Singers, Muddy Waters, and Ron Wood. During the film, The Band performed The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down. If lunatics like the city council in New Orleans had there way, this film would probably be destroyed and the song banned.

She made a choice to be uncooperative and disrespectful. It was her choice. Thousands of people get stopped by police for minor infractions. They say hello to the officer and hand him their drivers license and registration and proof of insurance. When they do that and they smile and are courteous, the officer usually gives them a warning. Sandra Bland is a lot like the person who dies and spends eternity separated from God, and then blames God. God isn't going to force you into Heaven. You need to understand that you are a sinner in need of salvation. Dude wants to blame the police for not allowing Bland to be disrespectful and non-compliant and not keeping a minimal standard of behavior that must be met by the public. There is no special treatment to people because of the color of their skin. You don't get to abuse law enforcement officers. By having a drivers license and operating a motor vehicle on public thoroughfares, you are agreeing to follow the rules and you are agreeing to obey lawful police commands. Anything less and you are in violation and have only yourself to blame.
Dude has an overwhelming hatred for the police based on his past experiences as a drug addict who lied to the police and tried to avoid getting arrested by the police. He cannot take their side. He cannot admit he falsely accuses them no matter how many times investigations clear them of wrong-doing. The jail staff did not murder Sandra Bland. She hung herself in despair because her deadbeat family refused to come and bail her out of jail. Now her deadbeat family is trying to get rich on her death. As usual, there are people taking the side of the criminal. That is the default position for Dude each time their is an incident involving the police. He hates them all with a burning passion. They are his enemy from his days as a drug addict and will remain his enemy until he dies.

No.the best thing to do is to comply even if you feel your rights are being violated and then file a complaint or a lawsuit if you it is warranted. Sandra bland probably should have complied as well but these officers actions were unprofessional.instead of attempting to deescalate the situation, he did the exact opposite. in fact she only got belligerent when he demanded that she step out of the car..I see no reason to ask her to exit the vehicle for a simple traffic stop....when you refuse to comply, you are playing right into their hands because often they are hoping you don't comply. some of these police officers are violent sociopaths who are looking for an excuse to hurt you. don't give them that excuse
