~1) Are all the commandments important? If they are then why is the sabbath day deemed as unimportant by the vast majority of Christians? Why does no one talk about not coveting either?
Yes, the 10 Commandments are important otherwise why would God take the time to speak them from Mt. Sinai and write them in stone with His own finger. The vast majority of Christians have been raised to worship on Sunday but in the beginning worship was on the 7th day Sabbath instituted by God at creation. The Catholic church plainly states they changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.
Genesis 2:2By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
By the time God wrote the 10 Commandments down they were a reminder to the Israelites who had been in bondage for hundreds of years in Egypt notice how the commandment is worded closely to the 7th day creation words.
Exodus 20:8-11King James Version (KJV)[SUP]8 [/SUP]Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
