Wait up. While you guys/gals are on the way to Pentecost I'm still in the feast of the unleavened bread. What is solemn assembly and holy convocation about on the last day of the feast? I asked on the other thread but then probably overlooked...
I find nothing in the Bible that talks specially about the 21st day of Nisan. Nevertheless, one needs to consider 3 things. First off it is the 7th day, and 7 represents a mattock according to the Hebrew alphabet. This would clearly mean the preparation of the heart when considering the parable of the sower and the seed, because the ground represents the heart.
2nd is unleavened bread representing 7 full days of journey without stopping to let the yeast of the world to ferment. The absence of yeast in Spiritual terms gives way to untainted flour that represents the Word of God. Nothing else comes to mind with the exception of getting the heck out of captivity to sin. Which leads to the 3rd point.
3rd bitterness prevails. The Bible says eating unleavened bread with bitter herbs. I looked that up and it wasn't actually consuming herbs that were bitter, but the bitterness of consuming the life style before the exodus from that environment. So in essence, the eating of unleavened bread for 7 days was to remember the bitter time without the salvation God promises. Bitterness against the past is the driver of the pursuance of freedom, and not stopping for the yeast to rise in the heart is the entity that beckons.
The quantity of 7 related directly to 3 things completed in Christ Jesus. They are the resurrection, Spiritual completeness, and the Father's perfection.
Matthew 16:6 Then Jesus said unto them, Take heed and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Isaiah 38:17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness : but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.
Psalms 18:30 As for God, his way is perfect: the word of the LORD is tried : he is a buckler to all those that trust in him.
3 X 7 = 21. I don't think that applies though. LOL Then again???????????????????? (smile)
