Ummm, you need to get a new translator page.

It says, " May the peace, blessings, and mercy of Allah be with you." For those not familiar with the Arabic language, Allah is not only the word for the Muslim god, but also the word that Arabic speaking Christians use to refer to the God of Christianity.
Arabic word for God is actually Ilah, rooted from Hebrew Eloh.
It is true though that most arabic bible uses Allah as the term God, since they have to do that due to the pressuring fatwa in most arabic countries.
However, Malaysia has recently disallowed non muslims to use Allah as a reference for God in their religious books (specifically Christians in their bible).

I sorta feel that Arabs should be weary about using allahs name as the name for God (the Christian/Jewish God of Abraham), because it is the name used by people who are worshiping a god not of the torah/gospel?

But, at the same time, we call Yeshua Jesus, and I know that God is the cause of of the division in languages with men. Im sure that if their heart is with Him, He is not unhappy about it.
Im sure that even though allah is the name muslims must use for their god, it can also just be a word that means god as well. Haha Im no expert, Ive just heard that muslims are told they have to call their god allah, and not just god. It makes it feel more like a name than a title, I guess.

Actually many Arab Christians most of the time use Rabb (means Lord) in their prayer to God. But I believe other Arab Christians using Allah to call God will still be dear to the Father, especially due to the pressure from governments to use the term allah as God.

Your hearing was true, though, that muslims shall call their god with the term allah, since their creed is "there is no god but allah" (the creed is a fail if you say there is no god but god).

So sorry, but allah is not the substitute word for Jehovah, GOD...allah was an ancient Mesopotamian diety that required a blood sacrifice. The word "ALLAH" is screamed out before flying airplanes into buildings or driving bomb filled vehicles into public areas...Nobody screams out "GOD be praised" before aiming guns at school children or machine gunning down innocent peoples. Please get your facts straight before ASSUMING you are doing allah a grand service.

That reminds me of a verse that actually gives me chills everytime I think about the muslims. John 16:2

Its a verse I wish I could show to the muslim people.

That must be a weird feeling, though. I mean saying such a thing but not being a follower of the god of the quran?

I dont think youre doing wrong, or anything :p God knows your heart, and whether or not you love Him, but it definitely seems like it would be kinda odd saying this among people who do not worship the same god.

What about 'Ilah'? I guess you as an arabic speaker should know that they are different. When muslims say there is no god but allah, the arabic term is La Ilahha Il Allah.

*No idea what this thread title says*
Both hands have four fingers and a thumb. Guess which fingers he's holding up as he types the OP.

That's the spirit of this thread. Don't be fooled.

Why not flat out ask him. Are you a Muslim Altair? Do you believe in, and follow muhammed?
