God is holy, and also we should be holy, if we wish to know him.

Be holy

To be Holy, as commanded in Scripture, simply means to me set apart or dedicated to serving the Lord.

It is NOT a call to sinless perfection which Scripture tells us we will not achieve before Jesus' return..

There is no condemnation awaiting those living in Jesus. We have been set free from the law of sin and death. God sent His own Son, bearing the likeness of sinful flesh as a sin offering.

Yet, a mind focused on the work of the Spirit will find a full life and complete peace. That is why we live according to Christ's teachings. Not for our salvation (He already did that) - but to have complete peace in our hearts, and to bring peace into others' lives.

As Yeshua said:

"If your left hand causes you to sin, cut it off and toss it aside. If your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and throw it away."

Hold fast to the truth, Mikko. The Lord will help you resist the pleasures of the flesh if you keep listening to Him.

I agree with 'MarcR'.. There's nothing holy about us, but we are made holy (righteous) by thriving to follow the example of he who was holy. "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away" (Isaiah 64:6)

There could be some disagreement about what it means to be holy. Some people might want to proclaim, "I am holy!" and think that makes them holy. I think to be holy, though, we have to obey the Lord's commandments.

It's easier than that (since we can't do that, anyway.) We are made "Holy" through belief in, involvement with, and relationship with Jesus.

If we walk with the Lord, we will repent of our sin.

Sinless perfection?

Don't you know, that if you do sin, you are a servant of sin?

A good tree can't make bad fruits.

Do not deceive yourself.

And when I wrote about holy, I mean that we should sanctified, like purify our self for all kind of unholy values of this world, like immature behavior what we see also in here.

We should have self-control over the all kind of immature moods, which seduce us.

You are lost, because you do not even believe that you can come holy.

We must be holy, if we wish to truly know God, because he is holy, but if you are not, then you do not know even what kind is holy, then how can you know God?

No, what you are saying is that we have to make ourselves holy before we can approach God. Jesus makes us holy by trusting in His atonement. That's not to say that we don't have to make choices and decisions to forsake sin but we do not and cannot attribute holiness to our own work, that is self righteousness.

ROMANS 12:1-2.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies
a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be you transformed by the renewing of your mind,
that you may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

when we 'conform' to the world, we become the enemy of God, for it is written:
He that is not for Me is against Me.'

We have to reach to the perfection in our way, or else we lost the true way.

You bend my words to look bad, even though I preach for the way of the Lord Yeshua.

And have I say, that we should reach holiness without Lord Yeshua?

This is a chirstian forum, so do I always have to remind that I mean a christian way, so that you people's are pleased?

You just dig something what you can use against me, but nothing real you have not find yet.

It is the word of the truth which against you are, because you hate the true way of the Lord, and that's why you try to make the exhortations to look bad.

You do not find a word's for exhortations, but you sure find a word's against the exhortations.

You should though about this situation where you are.

Saladin I wonder who you are and why your nickname is one of an Islamic enemy of Christians. Also why you think you are so holy as opposed to the rest of humanity. Having read your last reply I wonder if you have all your faculties as you seem to take the Bible so literally.

What did you expect? You told someone they are lost because they said you need to be involved with and have a relationship with Jesus, hence that's where our holiness comes from.

And then you jump into these massive conclusions that I hate the way of the Lord? Far out...

Here's mikko's problem in his own words. He's a modern day Pharisee who bathes in his own self righteousness and all the while shuts out the Kingdom of God against others.

Your fruit is rotten mikko, because all you do is sow discord while thumping your chest in self-delight.
