As we all know (or should know), women are allowed to preach the gospel and help spread the Christian faith. But when it comes to authority in the church as a pastor, I think the Bible is clear that women are forbidden. So why is it that nearly every baptist or methodist church I come across in the UK, they have a female pastor along with a male pastor?

Well, I know where this problem comes from, but I would like to hear other people's opinion.

Women are taking the place of men and men are taking the place of women. In my own opinion, I think that it is the spirit of homosexuality in the church. and i think that the same God they pretend to serve, the same God will destroy them.

Root of the problem is unbelief that Scripture is truly God's Word.. Homosexuality, liberal theology etc. is just a symptom of unbelief.

Do you eat unclean food? Do you have long hair? Do you wear mixed fabrics?

I think there are plenty other things we should worry more about than that :)

Just because a women preaches dosent mean there unbelivers or that there takin mens places.. the bible may say women shouldnt be preachers but it also says unto the pure all things are pure so if they truly belive in god an just want to spread his word i think they should have at it an i think we should leave it alone there arr much more important tthings to do than worryin about a women preacher,.

If it was not important , Paul wouldn't preach that long hair is the glory of women.
Hair uncut is a very important thing for women.

Says the person who thinks music is more important than God, according to his quotes. lol Don't be quick to judge people of there grammar, The fact is that the person has made a comment and shared his opinion. God Bless Brother..

I'm glad that you posted this. I have only been saved since July. I found a church up my street and I have loved going to it. The pastor (a male) is interim. I just found out last week that he is leaving and a female pastor is taking his place! I feel extremely uneasy about this, yet I love the church.

I'm a woman and I DO NOT have any problem believing the following verses:
"Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." - 1 Timothy 2:11-12

I'm not perfect and I try to follow Christ and His commands as best as I could. Woman should not preach in the church is the bottom line for me. I would love to be a pastor's wife but never a pastor myself :)

I'm sorry, but I knew a female Methodist pastor when I was in high school. She was a wonderful woman, the kind you just love her the minute you meet her. And years later she married my husband and I and I was thrilled to get her. Now there is a retired female pastor attending the church I attend and she has all the qualities I would want in a pastor. She holds bible studies in her home every other week. One of the most spiritual, Godly women I've ever met. She runs the service when our regular pastor is off. We love her. I believe it's the person's heart that God sees, not their gender.

I'm sorry but saying woman should not be pastors is just foolish. Do we men see ourselves better than a woman? I should hope not, if it weren't for our mothers we would not be born. Paul may have had his own opinion on this but that doesn't make him right.

So then you're just going to pick and choose what parts of the Bible is suitable for you. God is the one who ordained men to be pastors, so if you don't like it then take it up with the Lord.

You men who think that women should not be pastors (or any of the other ministeries listed in Eph 4v11-16, NOTE: Eph 4v11, '...He gave some...', it is God Who sets these ministeries in the Church, NOT men) are simply male chauvinists who twist a couple of Scriptures (1Cor 14v34,35 and 1Tim 2v11-15, the context in both being in regards to domestic issues, NOT church practice, as many Scriptures clearly teach that women fulfilled these ministeries, for instance, Priscilla, who taught truth to an Apostle and had a church in her house, Acts 18v26, Rom 16v3-5, 1Cor 4v6-9) so as to make them fit their warped viewpoint! Dear sisters don't let these spiritually blind persons (who are simply doing the enemies work) stop you from exercising your God given ministeries! Yahweh Shalom...
