I tell you sumpin else. When your wife knows that you are in error, boy that's a cold bedroom. and if she knows you don't like spinach. Guess what, she will fix spinach every night. If moma ain't happy, nobody is happy. I Know you ladies like this.
HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA!!!!
As much as I want to there is no way I can argue with this. I'm not married, but I do have a guy...and I have some moments like you mention.

I did jokingly make a comment on CC once "Happy wife=happy life" I totally got ridiculed for that one. Some people lack humor. Wont make that mistake again.

Do you eat unclean food? Do you have long hair? Do you wear mixed fabrics?

I think there are plenty other things we should worry more about than that :)
God tells us in the new testament, so the whole dispy old vs new dichotomy can't be appealed to.

I would just go to burger king and get my food.

I'm sorry, but I knew a female Methodist pastor when I was in high school. She was a wonderful woman, the kind you just love her the minute you meet her. And years later she married my husband and I and I was thrilled to get her. Now there is a retired female pastor attending the church I attend and she has all the qualities I would want in a pastor. She holds bible studies in her home every other week. One of the most spiritual, Godly women I've ever met. She runs the service when our regular pastor is off. We love her. I believe it's the person's heart that God sees, not their gender.

Could you post post for us on this forum the following verse: 1 Timothy 2:12

Thank you.

As a matter of fact the first preacher of the Gospel after Jesus was Mary.
There is a significant difference between preaching the Gospel on the street, and taking positions of authority within the church.

I'm sorry but saying woman should not be pastors is just foolish.
If obeying God is foolish, count me in.

Do we men see ourselves better than a woman? I should hope not, if it weren't for our mothers we would not be born.
Nothing about gender roles implies one or the other to be superior.

Paul may have had his own opinion on this but that doesn't make him right.
Paul wasn't establishing an opinion.

Well when I first got married. Well to tell you the truth first two years are sublime. Although she thought I was God, cause she served me burnt offerings every night. Joking aside, a woman that is strong in the Lord is a valuable thing, more valuable than gold.

Hey jimmy, I think that the argument with some on here is preaching is not authority. That is how some are justifying women preachers.

Preaching within the church, or defying the order of headship is to usurp authority.

EDIT:
By preaching I don't mean giving a testimony, sharing a poem, etc... nor am I talking about a gender segregated bible study, or catechism class.

Well i think its pretty much settled.. Only woman should be Pastors because
1. They are better then Men.
2. They are closer to God.
3. Because Deborah was a Judge.
4 Because then Men wouldnt abuse their families.
5. So the younger men can get dates if they agree with this policy.

lol, my mom served my dad burnt offerings every morning the first week they were married. He made the mistake of telling her to stop burning breakfast. She cried for 3 days...

Anyway, I do agree with your statement. I will say I don't want a "weak" man. I sometimes think that may be one reason why some women feel they have to "take" authority. The men don't want to fill the role. Whether it is in church or in the home.

I think we have a culture that tries to feminize men, and a church culture that largely advances it.

Thats what liberalism has given us. Men who act like women. some even want to become women. and women who act like men.. and a few want to become a man.

1. They are better then Men.
In some ways maybe. I mean, We look better in dresses, unless you're Dennis Rodman
2. They are closer to God.
Equally spiritual
3. Because Deborah was a Judge.
I wonder if people realize that "judge" meant an actual ruler. A governmental ruler. Not one of authority in worship.
And the Old Testament does not function as an authoritative document for religious activity under the New Testament system. If such were the case, polygamy, animal sacrifices, the burning of incense, etc., would all be permissible.
4 Because then Men wouldnt abuse their families.
Don't even get me started on that one..
5. So the younger men can get dates if they agree with this policy.
In other words, they want to date their "mommy" so someone can take care of them.

LOL, my husband is a man and i am NOT! Hint,, Heres a big one, surprise,,, I married him becasue hes a man! Shocker huh! :) Well theres a lot more to it than that, but let me tell you if he had been a woman, he wouldnt have stood a chance and i mean that! What i mean is, like Liz says, i want a strong man who is willing to stand!

God provided me with one and i am blessed! So niether of us have had burnt offerings, but my offerings to him and His to me is more than money can provide! God is so good. But this country needs people both men and women who are willing to stand and this i think is important!

I think the word says wives submit to your husband and husbands love your wife as Jesus loves the church. It is not a rank. The two shall become one flesh. Although I believe that God holds the man responsible, but many many many times, if it had not been for my wife I would have done the wrong thing.

By the way I and my wife have been married for 23 years. And arguments have been few and far between.
