If people are seriously becoming concerned about their attire, perhaps they should read the parable about the feast calling all the homeless and poor people off of the street to come and eat.

We believe that going to church is God's house, and you must show respect to God. You don't go to church the same as you would go to a baseball game or over a friend's house. God has instructions in the Bible how to dress, and this is usually turned to women. Modest apparel, not the adorning of hair, makeup, jewellery. God doesn't want this, he wants your heart. Women do not wear pants in our church, as we feel that is not respectful as a believer to come to church in pants. We believe in the woman wearing a headcover according to Corinthians. Men too, should wear long pants and not shorts. Shoes and no thongs/flip flops. No cut out tops or low cut tops for women. This is not a disco to show your body, it is a house of prayer.

All I know is that regardless of what I wear, I encounter Jesus and I get together with other people who want to worship him for his beauty and mercy. I experience his love and put my eyes onto him. There's nothing wrong with doing this if it is how you feel comfortable, but Jesus cried out "My God, my God!" at the cross so that I could call him "Daddy, daddy!" (abba) and the relationship that I have with my daddy is beyond all measure I could ever possibly ask for. He sees my heart, not my clothes. I walk according to the Spirit, not according to the flesh. My flesh was crucified with Christ.
