. . .
Yes the bride and groom in fact do return to the earth,but to my knowledge that is not a "wedding custom". In fact I just visited 3 more sites and found no such custom. One of which is JewishEncyclopedia.com
Would be interested if you can substantiate this.
. . . The wedding ceremony itself was held at the groom’s father’s house and usually included only a few invited guests. At this time a series of benedictions are made and the couple were finally made husband and wife.
.
3) The wedding ceremony was then followed by seven days of celebration, great rejoicing, and finally, a marriage feast. This occasion was often held at a different place and many people were invited. . . .

The Jewish Wedding & The Christian Walk - Nancy Missler - Koinonia House
In the same manner as the Jewish wedding party found wedding guests assembled in the groom's father's house when they arrived, so Christ and the Church will find the souls of Old Testament saints assembled in heaven when they arrive. These souls will serve as the wedding guests.
.
Parallel to the custom of the Jewish groom and bride entering into physical union after their arrival at the groom's father's house, thereby consummating the marriage that had been covenanted earlier, Christ and the Church will experience spiritual union after their arrival at His Father's house in heaven, thereby consummating their relationship that had been covenanted earlier.
.
Corresponding with the Jewish bride remaining hidden in the bridal chamber for a period of seven days after arrival at the groom's father's house, the Church will remain hidden for a period of seven after arrival at Christ's Father's house in heaven. While the seven year Tribulation Period is taking place on the earth, the Church will be in heaven totally hidden from the sight of those living on the earth.
.
Just as the Jewish groom brought his bride out of the bridal chamber at the conclusion of the seven days with her veil removed, so that all could see who his bride was, so Christ will bring His Church out of heaven in His Second Coming at the conclusion of the seven year Tribulation Period in full view of all who are alive, so that all can see who the true church is (Col. 3:4).

Okay, after re-researching this most of this afternoon, I have to correct myself, in that my statement that "the Wedding Supper always took place in the Bride's Old Dwelling place", did not stand up to the TEST of the RESEARCH. It was not restricted to a particular location, even though the Old Dwelling Place of the Bride is definitely a possibility. It could also take place in the groom's Father's house or any other friend's or relative's house that had enough room to accommodate the number of guests that had been invited. So I stand corrected.
However in light of these verses it seem clear to me that Christ's Wedding Supper will take place on Earth.
Zechariah 14:3-9 (HCSB)

3 [/SUP]
Then the LORD will go out to fight against those nations as He fights on
a day of battle.
{SEE REV. 19.}

4 [/SUP]
On that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which faces Jerusalem on the east. The Mount of Olives will be split in half from east to west, forming a huge valley, so that half the mountain will move to the north and half to the south.
[SUP]
5 [/SUP]
You will flee by My mountain valley {That is the 144,000 Descendants of Israel, will seem to be obvious guests at the Wedding Supper, and here they are fleeing Jerusalem, NOT BY RAPTURE, but into the surrounding Mountains.}, for the valley of the mountains will extend to Azal. You will flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah.
Then the LORD my God will come and all the holy ones with Him. {That is the Bride of Christ: O.T Saints, Church-age Saints, and Tribulation Saints.}
[SUP]
6 [/SUP]On that day there will be no light; the sunlight and moonlight will diminish.
[SUP]
7 [/SUP]It will be a day known ⌊only⌋ to Yahweh, without day or night, but there will be light at evening.
[SUP]
8 [/SUP]
On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea,
in summer and winter alike.
{That is a STRONG indication that He is talking about a Week of YEARS, not a week of literal days. Therefore that Seventh year of the WEEK of Years that the Antichrist makes a Peace Treaty with ISRAEL, is the DAY HE is talking about.}
[SUP]9[/SUP]On that day Yahweh will become King over all the earth—Yahweh alone, and His name alone.
{NOTICE JESUS becomes King over all the earth that SAME DAY He destroys the Armies of the World.}
And the Wedding Supper begins with the feeding of the birds, but WITH JESUS taking the THRONE OF DAVID that very Day, do you not think that a CORONATION BANQUET would be in order for that very Evening? AND DO YOU NOT THINK THAT IT WILL ALSO BE THE WEDDING SUPPER OF THE LAMB?
Revelation 19:17-21 (NKJV)
[SUP]
17 [/SUP] Then I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice,
saying to all the birds that fly in the midst of heaven,
"Come and gather together for the supper of the great God,
[SUP]
18 [/SUP] that you may eat the flesh of kings, the flesh of captains, the flesh of mighty men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all
people, free and slave, both small and great."
[SUP]
19 [/SUP] And I saw the beast, the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.
[SUP]
20 [/SUP] Then the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who worked signs in his presence, by which he deceived those who received the mark of the beast and those who worshiped his image. These two were cast alive into the lake of fire burning with brimstone.
[SUP]
21 [/SUP] And the rest were killed with the sword which proceeded from the mouth of Him who sat on the horse. And all the birds were filled with their flesh.
