So no water is required?
That is true.

And what you wrote is true
The person repents from Unbelief, by BELIEVING In Jesus.
And the reason that God as Christ on the Cross is the only way to go to heaven, is because its only God's Blood that is THE eternal sacrifice for sin of the world.

See, God's Blood is forgiveness for the entire world's sin.........>"for God so loved THE WORLD".......you see, .... THat He gave Jesus...

However, that blood sacrifice and death of Jesus, this REDEMPTION..... is only applied to a person when Faith in Christ is Given to God.
Water baptism and receiving the Holy Ghost are BOTH required.

Hi.. if I may.. did we not notice "baptism" is not even talked about there. It says "born" of water. Would seem were adding a word that is not even talked about..
It is not specifically stated in that scripture; however, many other scriptures attest to it. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 8:35-40, 10:44-48, 16:14-15, 16:28-33, 18:6-10, 19:1-6, 22:16)

Ever ask yourself why God chose to design the birthing process as he did? The baby is immersed in the waters of the mother's womb and at birth bursts forth from the water into the world. Consider that God's word states that spiritual things can be understood by God's natural designs.

Do you realize that it is through Jesus' name that one's sins are remitted? When does that occur according to the word?

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
46 For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
Still obsessing on tongues?
How can you not.....

But here is something interesting about your verses.
Notice that Peter preached.........and those that heard the word, .......... " spoke in tongues".
So, "faith comes by hearing".......Wansivic.
This means that when they believed, they received.......not only Salvation, but, they also spoke with tongues.

This is not what the Charismatics teach as "prayer language", which is what you think you are doing.

Now, if you have a NT, read this verse......>"And signs shall follow them that believe"..... Mark 16
Who are they?
Well, your church will teach that this is all believers, while Paul teaches that these are sign's of an apostle.
That would be 2nd Corinthians 12:12.
See those 'signs" of an apostle"" ??????.......now connect the dots.........>"signs follow those that Believe"......and Jesus is talking To the Disciples that he is sending out, 2000 yrs ago.
He's not talking to you.

So, what does that mean?
It means that under the ministry of an Apostle, you will see the signs "following"...what they do.
And that includes, their proselytes.

And how do you know that is true?
Its because the majority of people who are born again today, do not speak in Tongues, when they are born again.
Its in the Charismatic churches that everyone is taught they are supposed to do it.
Yet, under an Apostle's ministry, "signs followed", including "tongues", that were Legit.

Did you ever wonder why Jesus never spoke in Tongues?

And one more for you that your Church will never show you.
Its this...

"tongues are for a SIGN".......and "Signs are for the JEWS".

Where are those verses found? They are in the same Epistle that talks about the 9 sign gifts.
See, you have to read all of the NT.
That kinda matters.

What do you think?

Now that we cleared up that my post had nothing to do with tongues. What is your response to what is actually in my post?

Do you realize that it is through Jesus' name that one's sins are remitted? When does that occur according to the word?

Hint:
Acts 10:43-48
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

44 While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.

Many are oblivious to the fact that forerunners of the Catholic Church distorted the way in which water baptism is to be performed. They removed the all powerful name of the Lord Jesus in 325 A.D. Many churches today follow a manmade tradition rather than what is presented in the word.

Acts 4:12
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

read it, the first time.

here is the issue ..........Your quote........"""48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord."""""

You left out the context. See, there is a REASON that those who are water baptized under JOHN, later are asked to be water baptized according to the NEW Covenant.

See, when dealing with these verses, you have to realize that. "john's baptism" is for Jews under the old covenant, and is not exactly related to The Cross or Salvation.

John's Baptism, is old covenant, and its not related to the Cross, as Jesus was crucified after John the Baptist Died.
Remember?
So, when you have "john's baptism" you are reading about Jews doing this, related to the old covenant.

Therefore, when you find a born again, then this person may be baptized after they are born again, according to how this is performed under the NEW Covenant., that is not related to the old covenant or John's water baptism of Jews.

You quote Act 10:43-48 but I note that you miss one very important point. Note vs 45 "the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also".

People only receive the Holy Spirit after they believe/are saved and in vs. 46 they spoke in tongues, so we know they were saved. Yet you say that they need to be baptized in order to be saved.

You are saying that the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus was not sufficient for salvation, you have to add a work of your own to help Him.

You sound like a Oneness Pentecostal, they believe the same as you, that we have to do our part, be baptized, in order to really be saved. They use the same scriptures and arguments to support their views.

You say the group was saved after they believed and received the Holy Spirit. The record of the event refutes your understanding.

The record provides evidence that Peter commanded the group to be water baptized just as he had commanded those present on the Day of Pentecost. It was not a suggestion. Furthermore, Peter later told the Jewish leaders about the encounter. He stated that after seeing God fill the Gentiles with His Spirit it was not his place to withstand God. What did he do after seeing the group receive the Holy Spirit in order not to withstand God? Peter commanded they be water baptized. His statement indicates that he knew that obedience to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus was when sins are remitted. (Acts 11:17) What was the response of the Jewish leaders? "When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life." (Acts 11:18)

Also, note that the individuals on the Day of Pentecost were indwelt with the Spirit before obeying the command to be water baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. (Acts 2:38-41, 47)

Lastly, scripture is scripture no matter who shares it. God's word will not return void. (Isa. 55:11) Let God be true and every man a liar. (Rom. 3:4)

I do not see evaluating scripture as a whole as taking it out of context. Peter's reference in verse 43 of Acts 10 to it being through Jesus' name whosoever believes in him will receive remission of sin is clearly connected with water baptism in the name of the Lord in verse 48. (Acts 10:43-48) See the parallel references in Acts 2:38, 22:16.

Since you disagree, please provide scriptures of when sins are remitted that oppose this view.

When you avoid what the text says because you do not like what the text says then you Wansvic are not evaluating the text. I have read through all of the posts in this topic and what I have seen is that no matter what text is presented to you to show that water baptism is not required for salvation you keep saying "ya but". You do not want to see truth you just want to follow the "Oneness Pentecostal" view.
You are trying to preach a different gospel and for such should be ignored.
