~1) Are all the commandments important? If they are then why is the sabbath day deemed as unimportant by the vast majority of Christians? Why does no one talk about not coveting either?

Yes, the 10 Commandments are important otherwise why would God take the time to speak them from Mt. Sinai and write them in stone with His own finger. The vast majority of Christians have been raised to worship on Sunday but in the beginning worship was on the 7th day Sabbath instituted by God at creation. The Catholic church plainly states they changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday.

Genesis 2:2By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.

By the time God wrote the 10 Commandments down they were a reminder to the Israelites who had been in bondage for hundreds of years in Egypt notice how the commandment is worded closely to the 7th day creation words.

Exodus 20:8-11King James Version (KJV)[SUP]8 [/SUP]Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
[SUP]10 [/SUP]But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

My computer likes to delete things so I am going to post one question at a time to try not to loose my writing.

I love this and totally agree! :)

What does Jesus say?

John 14:~15"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. 16"I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;

Even in the end of the verse He is saying He will pray and ask God to send us a Helper - the Holy Spirit which enables us to keep them when HS is dwelling within us.

Titus 3:5King James Version (KJV)[SUP]5 [/SUP]Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

So now you say we should follow the Bible? Before you said you do not follow what is written, you follow what you think the Holy Spirit tells you.

So what is first? The written word of God in the Bible or what you think the Holy Spirit tells you?
Whenever I used the term written code, I assumed you knew the written code is the letter of the law. You know now, so you wont make the same mistake again will you

Revelation 11:
19And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

Hebrews 9:4 states that the Ark contained "the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant.

I am not sure that Revelation stated the contents of the Ark of the Covenant but the contents are listed in Hebrews. The only tablets I know of were the 10 Commandments written on stone.

I know that when Jesus died that the sacrificial laws were not effective anymore because Jesus was our sacrifice and we no longer need to kill animals for the remission of sin. Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for us. I don't know about the 600 mosaic laws and admit I don't know or have all the answers.

Romans 5:~[SUP]18 [/SUP]Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. [SUP]19 [/SUP]For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.

It's totally fine for you not to have all the answers. :) Also it is totally awesome that you can admit that! :-D a sign of true humility.

I don't know.....They had to be special otherwise why did God take the time to write them Himself? I see the 10 as the rules of God's government. The first four show our love and loyalty toward God and the last six show our love toward our fellow man. The two commandments that Jesus said summarized the 10.

Matthew 22:37-40
New International Version (NIV)
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[SUP][a][/SUP] [SUP]38 [/SUP]This is the first and greatest commandment. [SUP]39 [/SUP]And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[SUP][b][/SUP] [SUP]40[/SUP]All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.

hehehe I think we are on the same wavelength here. :-D

~an image or representation of a god used as an object of worship. Anything you put in place of God to worship or esteem as more important than. Could be and object, person, etc. God wants the number one place in our hearts not second place.

Exodus 20:4"You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth.
so could even little things like TV shows be idols?

I can read the same law and see the spirit of the law not the letter of the law. You seem to be trying to change what you said that you follow what you think the Holy Spirit tells you. There is a doctrine going around where people teach because we have the Holy Spirit we do not need the Bible. Looks like you teach this dangerous doctrine as well.

Exodus 20:[SUP]4 [/SUP]“You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. [SUP]5 [/SUP]You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, [SUP]6 [/SUP]but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

God still wants our love and devotion today He wants us to love Him with all our hearts.
Matthew 22:37And He said to him, "'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.'
But does it mean like don't bow down in the literal sense or what? Do people still literally bow down to objects today?

In many cultures yes. Some even say the roman church bows or gives honor to their statues. We even bow at times to things I think

You mentioned TV, Yes, that can be an idol.

That would be a lethal doctrine to say if we have the holy spirit we don't need the bible. I have read the bible through three times, the NT at least fifty times and carious other OT books at different times. The bible is the only book I read
I am not changing anything. I have been consistent in what I have told you, but you ignore most of what i write, but I keep plodding on

I fibbed, but not deliberately. I haven't read revelation fifty times, only four or five

*Revelation 22:14 KJV*
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

According to this verse if we are not keeping the commandments of God we will not enter heaven But, your doctrine changes this verse.

Carry each others burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ Gal6:2

Would you like me to tell you the two churches I have been to where I saw the most flagrant sin?

I have a few questions

1) Are all the commandments important? If they are then why is the sabbath day deemed as unimportant by the vast majority of Christians? Why does no one talk about not coveting either?

2) Should we still obey all of the commandments today?

3) Why is it in revelations the ark of the coventant which holds the ten commandments is seen in Gods throne room? If the ten commandments are part of the mosaic law where is the rest of the 600 laws?

4) why were the ten commandments set apart written by Gods own hand in stone and then put in a really pretty box?

Once we have answered 1-4 I wanna go into more detail about the ten commandments.

5) What is an idol?

6) Does the second commandment still apply today? If so how? (the second command talks about not bowing to gods made to look like Gods creation)

7) what does it really mean to covet your neighbors goods and how can we avoid it?

8) Is it really that hard to keep the ten commandments? Are they really that bad when you look at them? Please be honest here. All they are really saying is to love God, put him first, don't worship anything or anyone else, rest on saturday, don't steal, don't murder, don't covet, ect. So are those things REALLY that restricting and can they really be called the mosaic law?

That's all I have for now. Please pray before posting and keep it civil. None of these questions are sarcastic in any way. I am looking for honest answers for all of them.

Thanks.
1) Yes the moral/Spiritual aspects of the 10 Commandments still apply, the Sabbath is no longer observed as a day.

Our Sabbath rest is in Jesus.

Coveting should be discussed, and Paul even held in teachings not to cover.

2)Yes by walking in LOVE

3) The 10 Commandments are both contained as God's moral laws and also as ordinances.

Only the written ordinances was done away with, not the moral. The rest was all ordinances.

4) They are God's moral law which is why they were set apart.

5) An idol is anything you place before God as more important to you.

6) Yes the 2nd command does apply. Paul speaks against idol worship in 1Corinthians

7) To covet means to want what somebody else has.

Learn by the Holy Spirit to be content with what we have.

8) Born again with the Holy Spirit no they are not hard to keep.

The impossible approach is something we can't do by ourselves, and applys to the whole written ordinances of the Mosaic law.

It does not apply to the moral, and no the moral and written are not the same.

What is the law of Christ? It is the ten commandments since Jesus is the I AM. Your problem is you seem to have a limited knowledge of the law. You see the law as a set of rules, the letter of the law rather than looking at the ten commandments and seeing the spirit of the law. The law is spiritual.

According to Paul, the law of Christ is fulfilled by carrying each others burdens
Why do you refuse to accept so much of what is written in the bible under the new covenant?

How many times should I tell you this. If you could perfectly obey all of the ten commandments you could still be condemn to hell on judgement day
Why do you refuse to listen to this, it certainly s the truth

Ha. Satan can't stand it that his power through the law has been taken away. He'll say anything to bring Christians into bondage to the law.

Jesus said if we love Him we should keep His commandments. If we keep His commandments without His love that is the letter of the law But, if we keep His law by His love and faith that is what the Bibke says.
