I am a woman and an ordained pastor. I am not the only woman on this site who is.

Suffice it to say, a study of the original Greek, free of the prejudices of translators, brings out the fact that not only were women called, but they were leaders in the early church.

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Gal. 3:28

God has opened up amazing doors for me to minister as a chaplain, including preaching, teaching and visitation. I did not begin my ministry until I had done a thorough study of the Bible to be certain that God called me and there was much work to be done.

Really, it is absurd to think that over 50% of the church is not allowed to minister, because of a difference in one chromosome. But more important is what God's Word says.

I have posted repeatedly on this topic, and I am really not well right now, but if this thread continues, or perhaps on another thread, I will present the incontrovertible evidence that women can be pastors, and not only when a man is unavailable.

"For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." Romans 11:29

If I had my choice between spiritfilled gramma who has been faithfully studying her Bible for 60 years and 20 year old guy who has been studying for 2 years correspondence ummmmmm I don't know if I'd make my choice on gender alone. :)
Amen! Now I attend a church that won't hire a "female" pastor and I disagree with it. And actually the elders in my church know I disagree with that. If the woman I am thinking about here were to apply for the job...I would fight tooth and nail for her because she knows her stuff :)

Should we liberate women so they can become more masculine?
Jesus liberated me, friend, I don't have to be masculine. I can be a child of the King, no more, no less than any of His other children.

If we absolutely believe that a woman could not be a pastor or God "doesn't allow" women pastors I think we need to have better look at how God works. Oops God is calling you to be a pastor? I'm sorry God doesn't work that way. Um...didn't God create everything from nothing? Yeah rethink.

LOL You can ask a 100 people the same question about the bible and get 100 different answers plus they all think they know the bible well. You assume all women want to be masculine...I do not want to be masculine

No that is just one misconception that people use for their circular thinking that women can not be apostles, yet Paul mentions more than one female as either an apostle, leader, deacon, and so on in the church in his epistles.
Priscilla and Phoebe was two of them, and the controversial Junia.

Every Greek and Latin church Father until Giles of Rome (circa 1000 CE) acknowledged that Junia was a woman. After that time, various writers and translators of the Bible resorted to various deceptions in order to suppress her gender.

Examples of changes made;

The Amplified Bible translates this passage as "They are men held in high esteem among the apostles" The Revised Standard Versionshows it as "they are men of note among the apostles". The reference to them both being men does not appear in the original Greek text. The word "men" was simply inserted by the translators, apparently because the translators' minds recoiled from the concept of a female apostle.

Many translations, including the Amplified Bible, Rheims New Testament, New American Standard Bible, and the New International Version simply picked the letter "s" out of thin air, and converted the original "Junia" (a woman's name) into "Junias" (a male form of "Junia"). Again, it was probably inconceivable to the translators that Paul would recognize a woman as an apostle. Incidentally, there are no Junias' mentioned in ancient literature and inscriptions; it was apparently an unkown and unused name.

Then you also have Euodia and Syntyche mentioned in Philippians.................
You definitely get an "atta boy" fer that one.:)

There are some outstanding christian women on this site who's hearts are as close as close can be to God. And as knowledgeable of God's Word as any man here is (including yours truly) ... and often times more so. I follow and read at least 6 or 7 of them to my own benefit and delight. I scarcely think that God would frown upon me or on anybody for learning from them as often is the case.

"Masculine women are the cousins of gays" What a stupid, blind, ignorant, dumb, idiotic, brainless comment!!
