Well, God used Joseph to save his whole family and Joseph understood it perfectly. Moreover, when he went to Egypt, he was blessed to a great extend!
He was blessed. He was also hated by his brothers, sold into slavery, had false witness against him and was put in a dungeon. Joseph probably suffered more than we know, but in this we see the sufferings of our Lord. Joseph was being conformed to Christs' image.

[QUOTE="JLG, post: 4782623, member: 311822"Jesus was on a mission to save humanity and counterbalance Adam’s sin, a perfect life for a perfect life and thus restore balance! But he condemned the religious leaders because they saw his powerful works and miracles but they rejected him so striking Jesus could be forgiven but the sin against holy spirit wasn’t, isn’t and won’t be forgiven! When you don’t know or when you know means a different situation! In the case of Paul, he thought he was right so his mind was opened so he could do what was right and he did an incredible work for God afterwards![/QUOTE]Yes he did a great work for God. Paul also said,

that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, Phil.3:10

Being conformed to his image. In Christ,

Yet for Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Psa.44:22

Precious in the sight of the LORD
Is the death of His saints. Psa.116:15

2. The worth of God is not dependent on our comfort. The worship of God should go beyond His blessings.

Yes, far beyond. The more we look at this poor world the more we can see that God is our only hope for a better world! What we see is only the repetition of history! Man never learns anything! We only get crazy leaders who don’ care about people! They may be dictators or elected leaders, the world is always more divided! No solutions except through God! And they all lead us to a dead end!

Looking for the meaning of Job on the internet, we may find

- tormented or oppressed

- persecuted

- hated

Now when we read the book of Job, we are told about a respected man and a wealthy man which is completely different from tormented or oppressed or persecuted or hated. So Was Job the real name of Job or did he become Job because of what happened to him aftewards ?

What mystifies me about Job is how, though he was a believer, Satan was allowed to torment him. But Colossians 2:15 states that in Christ, the Devil is essentially defeated.

Colossians 2:15 NKJV - "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it."

I have produced a lot of teaching that Satan cannot harm True Children of the Lord, but then we have the story of Job. I hate being wrong . . . but it seems that I might be.

What are your thoughts on this?
Satan killed all the apostles except for John.

Looking for more lessons from the book of Job, I found that video asking this question :

« Will Job’s experience triumph over his theology ? Or

Will his theology triumph over his experience ? »

The Shocking Lesson In The Book of Job That Many People Overlook

What is the root meaning of theology ?

The term theology is derived from the Latin theologia (« study or understanding of God or the gods »), which itself is derived from the Greek theos (« God ») and logos (« reason »).

« Functions of theology – Encyclopedia Britannica

- Well, of course Job didn’t have the Bible to learn about God. But if God says that there was no one like him on earth when he was alive, apparently he did a good job and he was blessed by God. And his action were connected with what he knew about God. He always wanted to find the best way to follow God’s will. That’s also why the devil had a trial with God about Job and no other one! Some people may not like what Job says when he expresses his pain and suffering, calling for God but he kept faithful and was blessed by God and in the Book of Job he is the only positive character! So I don’t think the question is right because like Job, there is no difference between what we experience and our knowledge of God. Both are interconnected, you can’t get one without the other! It’s like a plant who needs all the elements to grow: if it doesn’t have all, it doesn’t work! So the more we learn about God, the more we try to use this knowledge to help us in life whatever may happen!

Looking for Job

Job 1: At that Job gets up and rips apart his garment and cuts the hair off his head; then he falls to the ground and bows down and says:

Naked I came out of my mother’s womb,

And naked I will return.

God has given, and God has taken away.

Let the name of God continue to be praised.”

IN ALL OF HIS, JOB DOES NOT SIN OR ACCUSE GOD OF DOING WRONG.

Then Job arose, and
rent his mantle, and shaved
his head, and fell down
upon the ground, and
worshipped

And said, Naked came I
out of my mother's womb,
and naked shall I return
thither: the LORD gave, and
the LORD hath taken away;
blessed be the name of the
LORD

In all this Job sinned not,
nor charged God foolishly.

- Job’s world has collapsed, everything he knows has gone away from him!

- Think about losing everything the same day!

- How would you react?

- Forget your past, now it’s time to start from nothing!

- And Job accuses no one, on the contrary!

- LET THE NAME OF GOD CONTINUE TO BE PRAISED!

- EVERYBODY HAS HEARD JOB’S WORDS!

Looking for Job

Job 2: Finally his wife says to him: “Are you still holding firmly to your integrity? Curse God and die!” but he says to her: “You are talking like one of the senseless women. Should we accept only what is good from the true God and not accept also what is bad?” In all of this, Job did not sin with his lips.

Then said his wife unto
him, Dost thou still retain
thine integrity? curse God,
and die.
But he said unto her,
Thou speakest as one of the
foolish women speaketh.
What? shall we receive
good at the hand of God,
and shall we not receive
evil? In all this did not Job
sin with his lips.

- Once again Job has lost everything even his health, the only thing left is his life and he keeps maintaining his integrity and his faithfulness to God, he doesn’t follow his wife as Adam did and Adam was perfect! So think about that too!

Looking for Job

Job 3: Let that day be darkness.
Let God above show no concern for it;
Let no light shine upon it.
Let the deepest darkness reclaim It.
Let a rain cloud settle over it.
Let whatever darkens the day terrify it.
That night- let the gloom seize it;
Let it not rejoice among the days of a year,
And let it not enter among the number of the months.
Indeed! Let that night become barren;
Let no joyful cry be heard in it.
Let those who curse the day put a curse on it,
Those who are able to awaken
Leviathan.
Let the stars of its twilight grow dark;
Let it wait in vain for daylight,
And let it not see the rays of dawn.
For it did not close the doors of my mother’s womb;
Nor did it hide trouble from my eyes.
Why did I not die at birth?
Why did I not perish when I came from the womb?
Why were there knees to receive me
And breasts to nurse me?

For now I would be lying down undisturbed;
I would be sleeping and at rest
With kings of the earth and their advisers,
Who built for themselves places that are now in ruins,
Or with princes who possessed gold,
Whose houses were filled with silver.

Or why was I not like a hidden miscarriage
Like children who have never seen the light?

There even the wicked have ceased from agitation;
There the weary are at rest.
There the prisoners are at ease together;
They do not hear the voice of the one
forcing them to work.
Small and great are the same there,
And the slave is set free from his master.
Why does he give light to one who is suffering
And life to those in bitter distress?
Why do they long for death, but it does not
come?
They dig for it more than for hidden treasures,
Those who are rejoicing greatly,
Who are happy when they find the grave.
Why does he give light to a man who has lost his way,
Whom God has hedged in?
For in place of my food comes my sighing,
And my groaning pours out like water.
For what I have dreaded has come upon me,
And what I have feared has befallen me.

I have had no peace, no quiet, no rest,
But trouble keeps coming.

- Job has lost everything even his health and he is rejected by everybody, three individuals come to him to destroy him mentally! At first, they appear to be willing to help him but they do the contrary!

- His wife tells him to curse God and die but he curses the day he was born: when a situation is unbearable, when you can’t accept it, people want to die!

- Sometimes you can’t find words to express what you feel, Job can and it is to express his bad feelings!

- Job wants to escape the stressful situation!

- But there is no refuge, no help!

- Only death to be undisturbed and sleeping and at rest and no more agitation as Jesus says in the Gospels!

- But Job doesn’t understand why God let people live and suffer!

Looking for Job

Job 6:
Will a wild donkey cry out when it has grass,
Or will a bull bellow when it has fodder?
Is tasteless food eaten without salt,
Or is there flavor in the juice of a mallow?

- Think about a faithful one: how is it possible for him to live only one day away from God? Now think about Job in Job 6 and how he feels!

Looking for Job

Job 6:
O that my request would be realized
And that God would grant my desire!
That God would be willing to crush me,
And that he would reach out his hand and
do away with me!
For even that would bring me comfort;
I would leap for joy despite the unrelenting
pain,
For I have not denied the sayings of the Holy One.

- RESPECT! INCREDIBLE WORDS! UNBELIEVABLE!

- How is it possible? Job is in such a bad situation and he asks God for the favor to die: “I WOULD LEAP FOR JOY DESPITE THE UNRELENTING PAIN”

- Do you notice like me what Job says right now?

FOR I HAVE NOT DENIED THE SAYINGS OF THE HOLY ONE.”

- IS THAT CLEAR AGAIN? FOR ME IT IS!

Looking for Job

Coming back to this verse in Job 6:

Honest words are not painful!

But what benefit can be found in your reproof?

- Are the three individuals who come to Job “the devil’s cavalry”?

- Well, pretty bad choice because JOB answers back with a NUCLEAR WEAPON from the pit where the devil has put him!

Job 6:

Are you scheming to reprove my words,

A desperate man’s sayings, which the wind blows away?

- As Job says, he speaks because he is desperate and his desperation goes away!

- Every word is DESPERATION!

- But they don’t care! That is a huge mistake! No, it is unforgivable!

- They are pitiless!

- They are of no help!

- May we listen to Job not to follow their examples and be helpful by listening and comforting and being positive and help to recover!

Looking for Job

Job 7:
When I lie down I ask, “When will I get up?
But as the night drags on, I toss restlessly
until the dawning of the day.

- Job can’t sleep well as he “tosses restlessly”

- He has lost everything!

- He is left alone!

- There are three individuals fighting against him!

- He is ill!

- The situation deteriorates months after months!

- As if it was not enough, he can’t sleep at night: can it be worse?

- Job wants to die but he is not going to kill himself!

- On the contrary, he finds the energy to fight back the three individuals!

Looking for Job

Job 9:

He moves mountains without anyone knowing
it;
He overturns them in his anger.

- Do we often think of God’s power?

- Like Job, we just have to think of forces of nature such as : EARTHQUAKES, VOLCANOES, TORNADOES, HURRICANES

- We can’t control them

- they were made by God

Looking for Job

Job 9:
For he crushes me with a storm
And multiplies my wounds for no reason.

- Here we go: Now Job finally speaks about what happened to him. He lost everything and even his health and so on. And here is the point: he only knows God and he has always served him faithfully and he has been blessed by him. And he keeps being faithful and he lost everything all at once and he knows that it is not natural! So he can only think about God and he doesn’t understand why!

- Think about the Israelites: they only knew God! When they acted according to God’s will, they were blessed, but when they acted against him, they were struck!

- So the devil is really tricky because he knows that and he knows that Job will think that God is against him without any reason! So it is really insane!

Looking for Job

Job 9:
I would still be afraid because of all my pains,
And I know you would not find me innocent.

- Job feels bad because of his physical and mental conditions

- But the worst for him is to think he has done something wrong against God and he doesn’t know what!

- Of course, physical and mental conditions are deeply connected!

- But having no hope is the worst!

- It’s really hard when everything is dark and you don’t see any light!

- You need to look to the future!

- Because you can’t change the past, you have to live with it!

- But you can built something on it so you can go on!- You need a project!

Job 10:
That you should search out my error
And keep looking for my sin?

- Job thinks that because that’s the only thing he can think about!

- God is his only reference!

- He doesn’t know anything about the devil!

- He can’t communicate with God any more!

- So the only thing left for him is his bitterness and his complaint!

- Yes, he wants to speak and open his heart!

Looking for Job

Job 10
So why did you bring me out from the womb?
I should have died before any eye could see
me.

- Yes, Job has only one reference: God!

- So he doesn’t understand what’s on!

- Why having such a life and finishing in such a way: it is a nonsense!

- Except there is no one like him on earth regarding his faithfulness!

- And he was chosen by the devil to oppose God but despite the devil he showed that God was right that is there is no one like him on earth!

- So much was in this trial and till now it has been the same story with humanity: faithfulness to God!
