If you know him, you will do the deeds. If you do nothing, your believing is meaningless.
Unfortunately, you are employing a false dichotomy, assuming that someone is either doing something to demonstrate their faith or they are not saved. You aren’t accounting for the large gray area between initial salvation and maturity.

Interesting this group didn't even know Jesus, but did the works expected of one who did.
Doing for others while not seeing Jesus in those others does not mean the doer does not know Jesus .

There are all kinds of ministries people do, probably too many to list but anyone who is a born again. believer will be involved in some kind of ministry, its not always towards homeless people tho.

Besides homelessness is a very loose defintition, you think of people literally living on the street but you can be homeless because you come from a broken home and you dont know where to go and stay with whoever lets you in. Or you could be living in a car or van and just going from place to place with no fixed address. Jesus was homeless he left home and spent his nights in the mount of olives, and stayed with whoever let him in....Paul made tents.

People that own their own homes are not the norm in many cities. They are just there to work and will leave when theres no work and nowehere to stay. There is a huge migrant population...the world is on the move always looking for a better place. Even if you do own your own home, its not always disaster proof. The only real home for many is in heaven.

Hippies were mostly young people who got into drugs and didnt want to be confined to the homes they grew up in so they left. Though probably a few were kicked out. They then got together into communes, but the problem with communes is theres always one person on a power trip trying to lead it, and if they are on drugs, its like Jonestown.

Most young people went flatting because they literally cant find a job closer to their homes or even in their homes which are just not set up to for work, although nowdays with online connectivity its easier to work from home with a computer. But who wants to spend all their time working on a computer at home all day by themselves? You need to work with others and meet people. Not everyone can be self-employed, although thats seems to be the ideal.

Hello Gang,
let me add my 10 cents! For much of my life I pursued a career in the Music industry...I was in some local bands and though I have an above average voice It wasn't enough to overcome some of my other limitations....short Fat etc!!! LOL... so I found my musical prowess behind the scenes as a manager , promoter , touring with some bands across the USA...later would specialize in Promoting CHRISTIAN bands and singers...
what I discovered was, many of the Muscians in the "CHRISTIAN" bands were just like the secular ones!!!! drinking heavy, smoking, chasing young women after concerts etc.... THIS OF COURSE wasn't across the board but it happened on multiple occasions... during my stint in this career.
In several cases, the Musicians in question were former dropouts of the secular scene....which led me to understand that appearance can be very decieving.......
CONVERSELY I had the opportunity to meet and speak to TED NUGENT on a couple of occasions... one after a concert...and one during his Hunting store promotions.........on stage.....foul mouthed disrespectful really one of the worst concerts I have ever seen.... BACK STAGE Clean, friendly, no drinking no smoking...gentle decent guy......
my point in this.. Is acting is just that in many occasions......and should be viewed in that regard....SCRIPTURE IS THE FINAL AUTHORITY as to our CHRISTIAN WALK!!,
THE BATTLE RAGES TIL THE LION ROARS!!!

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

Same false dichotomy. One verse does not a doctrine make.

There are many verses on helping those in need to prove your faith.

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? 1 John 3:17

How about addressing my point instead of barraging me with verses.

You are saved by grace, but you won't have any rewards in heaven without works showing your faith.

For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, Matthew 25:42

Gill's Exposition

I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; as not the least morsel of bread to eat, so not so much as a cup of cold water to drink; which with what follows, are manifest tokens and evidences, that they did not belong to Christ, were not true believers in him, nor had they any real love to him: the grace of God was not in them, and therefore had neither right unto, nor meetness for, the kingdom of heaven; but were righteously banished from the presence of the Lord, and sent to dwell among everlasting burnings; for righteous it was, that such as they who would not show any love to him here, should not dwell with him for ever hereafter.
