<oh great, it looks like I've step on someone else's toes>

that post wasn't meant for you. and your questions are welcomed.

if i didn't appreciate them, then I wouldn't have bothered to answer.

what do you think the purpose of CC is?

as for the arguments part, have you read most of the threads in this forum?

the post you quoted was in response to post 25 but other people posted a bunch of stuff before I finished typing.

the forums can get confusing like that sometimes.

sorry for the misunderstanding.
Ok I think I may have caught up a bit, and thanks for clearing things up lol. CC is here for fellowship in the spirit. And for the most part it seems to be working else they would of closed it down years ago.

I've been on here in the past but on many occasions I loose my internet connection sometimes for months at a time. It's sad but that's life. When you live alone like me because of my own stiffneck inhibitions it's so nice to have conversation. The tv doesn't talk back... CC does. Makes my day usually but then there's some people that just love to stomp on ya, but that's ok, I can turn my computer off and go chop a tree down or two. That usually works.:)

it gets tangled when a bunch of people post at the same time on a thread or when more than one conversation is going on at one time.

hopefully some other people will come along and answer your original four questions.

the good part is most people don't bother reading the whole thread but just the Original Post and respond. at least its good sometimes....

so will you answer the questions yourself sometime in the near future?
Yes I will answer them but they weren't ment for me.lol But I guess that would be fair. But the answers may not connect to the questions because the questions weren't quite in the proper ...what's the word syntax...something like that. I had to change the wording and order of the last question because it came out wrong as to my meaning of it.

Who is the Holy Spirit of God?
What can the HS do?
Why did Jesus send us the comforter (HS)?
Since we have The Holy Spirit, do we need anyone or anything other than the "Bible"?

Now take the best scripture you can find and answer these 4 questions.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit that testifies to Jesus Christ. It's not a person. The Lord refers to the Holy Spirit as He because the Spirits from God and God is a personal Father. Remember, the Lord said that He and the Father are one.

The Holy Spirit gives a Christian grace and comfort. He enables us to testify about Jesus Christ and live out the Christian life. In some cases to operate in Spiritual gifts.

Alright if that is your belief I'm ok with that. I'll take that John 16:13 but it has to be in it's place of understanding. Who is John talking to and what is his statement concerning that He said it..Ya know? You can't just read a passage literally there is more to it than that in my eyes.

So you are saying you read a scripture and instantly you understand the full depth of it ..cut and dry? That's pretty good, wish I could do that.
anyone can with the holy spirit.. the spirit cannot contradict itself, the spirit of truth reveals it.

When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. John 16:13
God speaks truth, and when God speaks we can look at our world to see the truth God speaks. God says He will guide us in all truth. It sounds like if we have the HS, then we will never disagree about what God is saying to us in scripture. We do disagree. Someone who has the HS is not led correctly. So we have to look at all scripture to find out what God means, God is not saying we can depend on our minds to know all after we receive the HS, for as we look around it isn't happening. I have the HS, Josh has the HS. Sometimes he and I see scripture as meaning different things, one of us is wrong. We can both know we have the HS because we can understand much of scripture. But when either Josh or I say that we now can depend on the HS's guidance without study and prayer, we are wrong, for in scripture we are told to pray and learn His word. It is very, very dangerous to say God has guided us into complete knowledge of all truth. We must search and learn.

wait what? what are you talking about i wasn't talking about what she said
do you know what the term "gnostic" means?

i think that was what was being discussed in your quoted reply.

Redtent said "ghostic" which is a made up word, but I think she meant "gnostic" which is a sect that thinks all flesh is evil and is all into "hidden" knowledge.

most people on here are NOT gnostic but anyways its easier to sling terms than actually take the time to talk to people.

yes but we can only be guided into the true when we receive the baptism of the holy spirit and if that happens by faith.. then you must have works to prove that your faith is FAITH, only way someone knows they have receive the baptism of the holy spirit

you mean the total change of heart and perception of the world doesn't give you a clue?

People who have the Holy Spirit no longer chase after what the world thinks is important: money, power, fleshly comforts, material things.

Instead they focus on the spiritual things of God. they think about others needs before their own. their heart weeps with those who mourn and laugh with those who rejoice because they know how to love others as God loves them.

before a person is born again. their thoughts are centered upon Themselves and to an extension those who love them.

after being born again a person prays, feeds and helps even those they know are their enemies and who Hate them because God teaches them by His Holy Spirit what it truly means to be a child of God.

I make a distinction between works and fruits. for me works means you have matured enough to be entrusted with a ministry that glorifies God. not everyone has that yet but everyone should have the fruits of the Spirit. some fuller and more developed than others but still there should be joy in your heart if you walk with the Spirit.

why do you believe we have to have works to prove your faith?

who are you trying to prove it to?

the scripture said so... if my testimony PROVES with WORKS that my faith was FAITH, also there is many more testimonies with people that encountered the holy spirit and what effects took place when they did and how they were miraculously changed, gonna just copy paste what i wrote before if you didn't see it, 14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
James 2:14-18

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.Ephesians 2:8-9

you faith MUST HAVE WORKS to prove that it was truly divine supreme faith from the heart that made saved you. if no works has come forth then it is a dead faith.

Let's get something straight here... You mean to say that when I die my spiritual body is no longer a person. Because a person can't be a spirit? I have a soul, my soul is made up of flesh and spirit. We are joined together until I die. When I die, the Lord God will give me a new body to go with my spirit and soul. Therefore, Spirits are persons because the word personality comes from the root word person. Every one including the God head has their own distinct person and personality. The Father has a distinct personality the Son has a distinct personality and the HS has a distinct personality.

in other words... since you don't get what i'm trying to say the fruit of the spirit is manifested in the FLESH whatever spirit it may be

Sorry Josh123, I meant that quote for SpaceCowboy and the next thread to you from me also.
But in a couple minutes I will have another question for you about works of faith. So give me some time here.

Hey Josh123, here's my question: this can be answered simply yes or no if you please.

Can some of the works of faith be some of the fruits of the Spirit?

Didn't I explain my understanding in another thread to you about this? 2000 years ago they didn't have the bible, they did have the apostles and single letters called the epistles sent from them to the different churches and peoples. They also had the Holy Spirit sent from the Lord. They didn't understand the gifts of the Spirit all that well thus the Apostles corrected them in their epistles to them and in person. Now since they didn't have the bible, the spirit gave them guidance and understanding straight from the Word of the Father. Those were some of the gifts. And it was to edify the Church. Now we have the Bible. Why do you read the bible if you have the Spirit? The spirit should teach you the Word just like back then when they didn't have the written Word. And there's the truth of it.
