Ok, everyone...there's something we have to remember. Jesus wasn't your typical person. His main purpose was not to make man sinless, but to save them FROM their sin. And by saving them from their sin, I mean as in not getting condemned for their sin. We can't walk as Jesus walked, because He lived a VERY different life than the rest of us. Ok, how many of us were born of a virgin?? Ummm no one but Jesus. How many of us were perfect from life till death? Once again, no one but Jesus. Who rose again after they died?? Jesus! So we can't walk the way Jesus walked, because He was not just a regular person. He was the only person to be one with God. And that's how it should be. Or else the trinity would be the Father, the Son and His followers, and the Holy spirit. Ummm sorry no. Doesn't work that way

It is not a contradiction. Jesus Christ has delivered us from sin. Every Christian has two natures. The old man and the new. Christ in you vs the old sin nature. We are to put off the old and put on the new. But the old man does rear up occasionally in all of us.
Scripture tell us to kill the old man, not to continue to walk according to His way.

Ephesians 4
22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Colossians 3
9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him

Why would you teach the lie of 2 natures making provision for your flesh. Paul straightly tells us not to do such a thing.

Romans 13:14 But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

What does 1 John 1:8 say, 4runner?
what does 1st John as a whole say, or even better the whole paragraph from 1st John 1:6- 1st John 2:6 say? Pulling one verse out of context to prove a point that opposes the rest of what John is saying only proves you are a deceiver.

Here is your problem. There is no maybe about it. And you think you would live. Daniel bowed down to an angel because he did not think he was worthy. What makes you think you would be worthy to stand before God as you are today? The pharisees thought the same thing. And you wonder why I pair you up with them.

No you are fooling yourself in believing that anything less that completely pure will inherite the Kingdom.
Nope I am not kidding myself. I became unpure the first sin I committed. That one sin was enough to condemn me to hell forever. I have no clue how many sins I have done since then, but I know if one sin caused me to be unpure. how could I ever be pure enough to stand in front of God on my own? I could never sin the rest of my life, and live for another thirty years. and STILL not be pure enough to stand in front of God.

That is where you are messed up. You think you can be pure enough to stand in front of God? You have alot to learn!

It seems to me that you do not even hope for the resurrection as you refuse to purify yourself.

I can't purify myself. and I could never purify myself. Christ did that for me. If he did not. I am doomed. As are you

And you say you do not teach a works based Gospel.

1st John 3
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Think. We will not be like him UNTIL WE APPEAR BEFORE HIM. So how can I be pure as he is before I am in his presence?

It does not say sinless perfection. It says purify yourself. It is an ongoing process which will continue to go on until we see him face to face, when it will be accomplished!

John say we have confidence because we are as Christ is. You say John did not say that but something else.

Who should I believe.
Yet John said in chapter 3 we will not be as Christ is until we see him. So I would listen to John.

In the verse you gave it spoke of our position being in Christ. As Christ is. we are also. Because we have his righteousness.

There is no hope or confidence in your gospel. You must be perfect. How can I have hope if I can't stop sin. You even stated you have not stopped yet. So how can you have confidence?? You can't

No one can have confidence who are trying to work to earn their salvation. Because they could never know if they were good enough, or did enough deeds.

You honestly can't help yourself, can you?

Please explain how 1 John 1:8 fits with 1 John as a whole. How does the rest of 1 John negate what it plainly says in 1v8?

Blah, blah ,blah you cannot see because you are blind, and you cannot hear because you have shut or ears. you have no idea what I believe or preach because you do not care to know. You just want to keep eating the same spoon fed regurgitation you have been eating all your life.
I know exactly what you teach. I have seen many a proud man such as yourself in my lifetime, You all teach the same stuff. Your not the first to believe as you do. The pharisees were the first NT people to believe that way. Your just following in their footsteps. You proved that by

1. Thinking maybe you can be in Gods presence as you are right now and live.
2. Saying you must purify YOURSELF or you can't get in. That means unbless you earn it. You will miss out.

Your fooling yourself. Your the one who is blind. you can't even see it
when you contradict yourself.

Is it possible for you to reply to a post without being insulting?

4 runner holds himself above even the apostle john evidently. For John made it clear. if even he himself said he did not active sin in his life he would be a liar. and no truth would be found in him.

well said. thats why would would fall on our faces if we stood in front of God as we are. actually we would not live. The amount of shame and despair we would have would cause our sin riddled bodies to fail!

John also says in chapter 3 that whoever sin is of the Devil, not of Christ
John said whoever lives a life of sin (again your reading english not greek) is of satan not of Christ. The same people jude talked to. Licentious people who show NO CHANGED LIFE. And james talked to. faith without works. hearers but not doers.

John was not talking to people who stumbled from time to time. Otherwise he would contradict himself because in 1:8 he said if we say we have no sin (are sinless) we are liars.

Do you want to be a liar. or a sinner saved By Gods grace?

I hold myself to the Standard set by KING JESUS, and you better too or you will perish.
If we could live completely without sin as Christ did, he wasn't necessary. God would just expect us all to be perfect. Personally, I'm very thankful for Christ.

Then what did Jesus die for? If I could live sinless why did Jesus have to die. You you listen to yourself? You don't preach a works based gospel? You just set the guideline. The law. Because how can we know we are sinless without the law? We can't. so your putting yourself back under law. and rejecting Grace

Again you are changing God's word to fit your doctrine instead of changing your doctrine to align with God's word
Nope.

Scripture was not written in english.

Not to mention

6 Whoever abides in Him does not sin. Whoever sins has neither seen Him nor known Him.

The New King James Version. 1982 (1 Jn 3:5–6). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

You admit you still sin. I guess you have NEVER SEEN HIM, NOR DO YOU KNOW HIM.

so now you have a major problem with your english text!

Straw man we cannot keep His standard, that s why He live died, rose again and make His abode within us to live for us if we will let Him living sinlessly for us in our flesh just as He did in His.

God would just expect us all to be perfect.
God does expect us to live sinlessly, but He knows we can that is why He sent Christ

Personally, I'm very thankful for Christ.
Me too, without Him I can do nothing, but with Him I can do all things.
