Because the standard for Apostle and Prophet are from the bible. And it would be Impossible for anyone to qualify today.
it is practically, reasonably, demonstrably, historically, and exegetically impossible to have apostles and prophets today.

There are both Apostles and Prophets and Teachers and many other functions working today. All by the same Spirit of God who is not dead. Who still works today.

No words will change it.

May Jesus bless you.

words from scripture will "change" the erroneous belief that God is sending prophets and apostles today.
today we have the office of pastor and teacher.
too bad that's not enough for some.
we need more of them.

hi Ramon:
could you explain what you mean by witness?
When Jesus asked, ''Who do men say that I, the son of man am?'' Not many people could answer it. I mean, we could get answers, but not many people could answer it in truth.

He said to Jesus, ''Some say that you are Elias and some that you are John Risen from the dead or some other prophet.

Then he asked, ''But whom do YOU say that I am?''

And Peter said, YOU ARE THE SON OF GOD!!

Peter had blessed eyes. And it is the Holy Ghost that revealed it to him.

so, relating back to the subject, and to your comment and my question, you are suggesting the Holy Spirit revealed (witnessed) to you personally that The Lord is sending new apostles and prophets today?

There was a question posed in your thread about you.

The person asked, ''Would you believe a prophet if he passed all the biblical requirements.''

Your answer was, ''there are no more prophets.''

So, even if a person passed all those requirements, you still would not believe it?

Tell me this, if Jesus sent a prophet out, which he has and does, saying, ''Tell the people...'' and we know that God is sovereign and that he still speaks today, would you also speak against the prophet? Let's see what Jesus says, even knowing that he was going to die:

Matt 10:40 ¶He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
Matt 10:41 He that receiveth a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet's reward; and he that receiveth a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man's reward.
Matt 10:42 And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.

Please respond.

Whether we believe that there are men in the office of apostle or prophet, it does not matter to God. He does as He wishes, and who can call Him to account? If He is sending prophets or apostles, and we do not hear them, then we have refused Him.

You know to say there is no apostles today is to tell God He cannot do as He wants... You can only tell God not to do what He wants with your life, not His Church! Jesus tells there... God said... In the latter days i will pour out my Spirit over all flesh and your sons and daughters will prohecy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams... I see visions and dream dreams.. Maybe i am not young and not old, so i am priviladged. No matter what any person say, God will DO AS HE SAYS, and He said... HE APPOINTS SOME APOSTLES< SOME PROPHETS< SOME EVANGELISTS< AND SOME PASTORS AND TEACHERS, FOR THE PERFECTING OF THE SAINTS.... No matter what any person argue, God will HAVE HIS WILL DONE! God's Word is not irrelevant, NOT EVEN IN ONE VERSE!! What God says He does HE DO!

pardon?
the requirements for prophet do not apply today since there is NO NEW REVELATION.
also, any OT requirements are null for today. their ministries and the way God used them was very different from the NT prophetic office anyways.

look Ramon.
i've been scouring the internet for 6 years looking for a SINGLE prophet or apostle that would, as you say fit the criteria, or "pass the tests"
THERE ARE NONE.

which is appropriate since God is not sending prophets today.
i don't care what books you've read or what charismatic or pop teachers you've read, or what voices you think yu are hearing: there are no more prophets.
end of story.

simple. just the way the Lord planned it.

just because some guy claims to be a prophet and claims God speaks through him means ZIP.
the 'prophets" on this site have done nothing but blaspheme.

Tell me this, if Jesus sent a prophet out, which he has and does, saying, ''Tell the people...'' and we know that God is sovereign and that he still speaks today, would you also speak against the prophet? Let's see what Jesus says, even knowing that he was going to die:

YOU added the part in red.
your question is pointless.
i do not recognize ANYONE claiming to be a prophet today. NOT ONE.
He is not sending anymore.
but satan is....stay away from that stuff.

find out why He used prophets and Apostles for the foundation of the church.

its beautiful...(til the NAR gets its grubby mitts on the prophet thing and ruins the simplicity of God's Plan: to their own shame and trouble i might add).

8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. 9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth.
I added nothing just copied pasted and highlighted for your attention and reproofed your theory STRAIGHT FROM GOD'S WORD.

Actually, that is not true. There are apostles even now.
you can dress your harlot office up in a pretty white dress all you want.
its a fraud and and illegal presumption.
you're not a prophet. you're an emergent mystic.
the NAR and all related corruptions of the foundational offices of Christ's firstfruits has been thoroughly exposed and debunked for any with eyes to see.

there are no genuine apostles today. lots of fake ones though.
because they think the church is stupid.

the REAL APOSTLES
they were chosen by Christ, walked with Him, were taught by Him, eyewitnesses of the Resurrection, or in Paul's case saw the risen Christ.

any apostles they commissioned were selected personally by them, wit the same authority.
the office ceased with the office of prophet as they died off, and canon was completed.
we have that which is COMPLETE.

but today's prophets and apostles (fake) have to call into question the sufficiency of scripture. which you've done more than enough of for one lifetime.

when i was a child i spake as a child...now i put away CHILDISH (and heretical) things.

1 John 4:1
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

2 Corinthians 11
For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

Revelation 2:2
I know your deeds, your hard work and your perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, that you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false.

Acts 20:30
Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.

Matthew 7:15
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

Matthew 24:11
And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray.

Galatians 1:7
which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ.

2 Peter 2:1
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them--bringing swift destruction on themselves.

Matthew 24:24
For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles to deceive even the elect--if that were possible.

Read Revelation 11:8 to 11...there is two prophets just before the end....And then say again there is no apostles and prophets...

Revelation specifically lists TWO WITNESSES and calls them prophets.
it says they will do something VERY specific in Jerusalem.

applying that to some modern RESTORED (not continued) office is careless and dangerous.
Revelation means exactly what it says.

but we got people running all around the planet today claiming THEY are one of those two.

like this guy.....still adored my MILLIONS:

Branhamism refers to the distinctive doctrines of William M. Branham (1909–1965),[1] an American faith healer and preacher of the mid-twentieth century. The term is generally disliked by adherents, who typically refer to themselves as "Message Believers" or simply "Christians", and to Branham's teachings as The Message of the Hour. [2] Groups of believers can be found around the world without any overall formal affiliation or governance. These groups range from the relatively orthodox to groups that would fit to the more popular definition of a cult.

A central teaching of these believers is the idea that Branham was the final major prophet to the Christian church as a fulfillment of Malachi 4:5-6, and had a divinely appointed ministry of restoring the true apostolic faith to the church which had been lost by denominationalism. Major controversial doctrines include the Godhead, the Baptismal formula, the serpent seed doctrine, attitude towards women and divorce, and eschatology.

The Prophet-Messenger
A major doctrine that unites all Message Believers is the central role of William Branham who is believed to be a Word prophet and the messenger ("angel") of the Laodicean church age. As a Word prophet they believe he was given revelation (understanding) of the meaning of the Scriptures. As the messenger, they believe he was sent to lead the Bride (the true Church) and to prepare them for the pre-tribulation rapture. It is said that William Branham fulfilled the Elijah prophecies of Malachi 4:5-6 ("turn the heart of the children to their fathers") and Matthew 17:11("restore all things"). They see his ministry as the messenger to Laodicea (the last church age) identified in Rev 3:14 and Rev 10:7. Branham taught that his gift of discernment was typed in Luke 17:28-30 which speaks of the "days of Lot". In those days, God appeared to Abraham in a human form and revealed the secrets of the heart. (Genesis 18).[16

Vindication
All of Branham’s followers are convinced that his ability to tell people personal details about themselves, especially those coming for prayer for healing, was one of the most important forms of vindication of his ministry as a prophet and evidence that he was speaking the truth.[17] Branham claimed that this knowledge (which he called discernment) was given to him through visions

Branhamism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

he claimed to be elijah, then said he was a god, he was a spiritist, medium and freemason.
and people love to say he was a prophet.

Correct.......IF He is sending prophets and apostles. But He isn't .....no matter how desperately some here want it to be so. Validated by signs and miracles, the apostles deemed the faith for the whole Church and established the written word by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.....i.e. (THE WRITTEN WORD) Once the scriptures were completed, the Church had all that was necessary in the area of revelational truth. The apostles' instructions were in words, then put to paper for all succeeding generations on how to live in obedience to the faith.

God said... In the latter days i will pour out my Spirit over all flesh and your sons and daughters will prohecy, and your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams... !
for the ten thousandth time, this was FULFILLED at Pentecost.

when JOEL gave the prophecy God said LATTER DAYS - THAT always REFERS TO THE COMING OF CHRIST the first time (and this is about the promise of the Holy Spirit) to the Second Advent,
the prophecy of pentecost HAPPENED. end of story.
the cosmic signs are about the end of the age. that's ALL joel was talking about.
Peter said THIS IS WHAT JOEL SAID.

but you claim you've not been taught by any man, only the Holy Spirit.
i know this isn't true, since Dispensational Theology teaches this.
all the televangelists and pop teachers teach this: FOR THE OBVIOUS REASON.

here it is again:

Acts 2 - FROM THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES
The Coming of the Holy Spirit
1When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and resteda on each one of them. 4And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

5Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. 6And at this sound the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language. 7And they were amazed and astonished, saying, “Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? 8And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language? 9Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, 10Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, 11both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians—we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God.” 12And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “What does this mean?” 13But others mocking said, “They are filled with new wine.”

Peter’s Sermon at Pentecost
14But Peter, standing with the eleven, lifted up his voice and addressed them: “Men of Judea and all who dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and give ear to my words. 15For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it is only the third hour of the day.b 16But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:

17 “‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
18 even on my male servantsc and female servants
in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
19 And I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
20 the sun shall be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood,
before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.

21 And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.’
22“Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with mighty works and wonders and signs that God did through him in your midst, as you yourselves know— 23this Jesus, delivered up according to the definite plan and foreknowledge of God, you crucified and killed by the hands of lawless men. 24God raised him up, loosing the pangs of death, because it was not possible for him to be held by it. 25For David says concerning him,

“‘I saw the Lord always before me,
for he is at my right hand that I may not be shaken;
26 therefore my heart was glad, and my tongue rejoiced;
my flesh also will dwell in hope.
27 For you will not abandon my soul to Hades,
or let your Holy One see corruption.
28 You have made known to me the paths of life;
you will make me full of gladness with your presence.’

29“Brothers, I may say to you with confidence about the patriarch David that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. 30Being therefore a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that he would set one of his descendants on his throne, 31he foresaw and spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was not abandoned to Hades, nor did his flesh see corruption. 32This Jesus God raised up, and of that we all are witnesses. 33Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. 34For David did not ascend into the heavens, but he himself says,

“‘The Lord said to my Lord,
Sit at my right hand,
35 until I make your enemies your footstool.’

36Let all the house of Israel therefore know for certain that God has made him both Lord and Christ, this Jesus whom you crucified.”

37Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself.” 40And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked generation.” 41So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.

The Fellowship of the Believers
42And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43And awed came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.

you either believe this or you don't.
