what else would a prophets job be to do?
A prophet is the mouth piece of God Himself. He hears the words of the Lord and gives the message to the people. A prophet can be given a vision of the future, but that is not real purpose of the prophet as many believe. The purpose of the prophet is.

1) The prophet is to speak the word of the Lord. ( Reference: Jeremiah 1:5-7, Ezekiel 33:9 )

2) The prophet is to speak first and foremost to God's people, Israel, the church etc. ( Reference: Ezekiel 33:2, Romans 1:16 )

3) They speak the coming Judgment ( References: Ezekiel:22:19-22, Zechariah 14:12)

4) They speak of salvation, a way to escape Judgment. ( References: Jeremiah 4:14, Ezekiel 33:11-20 John 14:6 )

5) To rebuke of correct false teachers, and false teachings. (Reference: Ezekiel 13:2)

6) To comfort, confirm and exhort those who are being obedient to God/Christ (Reference: Revelation 2:24-29)

The prophet's message is summed up in Isaiah 61:2.

With your logic that would make everyone a prophet because as Christians we are called to do all of those.

I do not think you understood what i wrote. The prophet hears directly from God. A prophet is called to the church, not the lost. A prophet is to correct false doctrine with in the church, rebuke and exhort the church.

All of us are not called as Prophets.

For example an evangelist is to teach Christ and Christ alone, not correct or rebuke, and they are sent to the world, not the church.

A teacher is to disciple new converts teaching them the way they should go, not rebuke or correct leaders with in the church ect......

Pastors are to shepherd the flock, and teach them truth, not correct other pastors of their false doctrine, but teach their flock correctly.

Apostles are basically Church planters, not sent to churches to correct their false doctrines.

All of us are not called as prophets, prophets have a very specific purpose.

I don't believe people hear directly from God anymore. There's no need everything we need is in the Bible. I mean the Holy Spirit might lead you to do something, but new revelations or rebukes aren't really needed.
I believe apostles are people who saw Christ in his rise body.... am I not correct? Of course I don't want to say God doesn't EVER talk to people cause then I'd be limiting God. He can do whatever he wants.

Why do you think the office of Apostles and Prophets are in the church today? Absolutely

2 What would they accomplish if they were? Overseeing the churches, planting new churches, speaking to kings and dignitaries ... just like they did before. And just like the true ones are doing today.

3 And do you think it matters as I do seeing all the False Apostles and False Prophets? There were false prophets back then and those that claimed to be apostles as well. It is no different today. There are true and there are false. Scripture says to beware the FALSE. If there were only false and no true, the scripture would say "beware ALL prophets and apostles", but it does not. In order to be able to discern the false, there must be 'true' in order to compare.

4 and would you change your mind if the bible supported that there are no Apostles or Prophets? Well, it doesn't so it is not an issue. Nowhere in scripture will you find that the OFFICES of the Apostle or Prophet cease are to be ceased or nullified OR separated from those of evangelist, pastor and teacher. That would be like having a hand with only three fingers!...INCOMPLETE.

Thats a false belief. Something a prophet would need to correct
There's no need everything we need is in the Bible.
Not everyone reads the bible

The bible says that there is need for correction, and rebukes. So if as you say the bible is all you need and what you go by, then why would you believe the exact opposite of something it says?
I believe apostles are people who saw Christ in his rise body.... am I not correct?
Thats what they say. I believe that there are apostles alive today they have not seen the reason Lord. However He could show Himself if He chose to, just like He did with Paul

Of course I don't want to say God doesn't EVER talk to people cause then I'd be limiting God. He can do whatever he wants.
I agree

I guess thats your opinion. Well, if people don't read the Bible that's their problem. I don't believe the Bible supports apostles and prophets today. About correction and rebukes that's the Bible for- 2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.

1st Timothy 4
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

The onus is on you to show where the bible says the office of the apostle or prophet has ceased. Unless you can do this, your belief that they have, is extra biblical at best.

Can you show me one place where the bible says the office of the Apostle or prophet was to cease?

However if one can show you they do exist, then that means your doctrine actually opposes scripture.

It doesn't say straight forward that the office cease, but it does say that the Holy Spirit will take its place: John 16:12-14 There is so much more I want to tell you, but you can’t bear it now. When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own but will tell you what he has heard. He will tell you about the future. He will bring me glory by telling you whatever he receives from me.
1 Corinthians 13:8 Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!
If you can prove me they do exist and my doctrine is wrong oh well; I'll stand corrected.

I can prove they do, the question is will you hear it.

Ephesians 4
11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;

12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

The Bible says that the 5 fold ministry, including Apostles and prophets are for the perfecting of the saints, and will not cease until we have come to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ

Do you believe the church has come to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ?

If not then you must believe that there are still Apostles, and Prophet on the Earth today working toward this goal.

I dont' believe that God has stopped speaking, but there are no new revelations for Him to need prophets.
So, in other words, we have the full revelation of Jesus Christ.

I cannot agree with that. We are one with Him, and untill the last member of His body is added to Hin by the Holy Spirit, the revelation of Jesus Christ is not complete.

The office of prophet is not what you suppose, it is not to add to scripture, but to reveal more that is hidden that is in scripture. Many suppose that we have all knowledge and wisdom and have learned all of the mysteries of scripture. This thought is pride.

Scripture, since it is from God, is never ending in the revelation that God can show us through and from it.

The Bible shows all we can know about Christ and its up to the HOly Spirit to help us to understand. Yes, it is foolish to think we have all the knowledge because you could read the same verse everyday for your whole life and the Holy Spirit could point something new out to you.

Since you misuse scripture to prove what you believe, there is no possibility of correction.

Prophecies will fail when the perfect is come. Jesus.

You see, you missed what I was saying completely.

We are one with Jesus, (well, we are supposed to be,) and that makes us part of the revelation of Jesu in the world.

It would be better to say that all that is in the bible about Jesus is true. Not that all that can be known about Him, or even all that should be known about Him, or even all that needs to be known about Him is in the bible.

To truly become followers of Jesus we must draw near to Him, pursue Him, desire Him with the depths of our heart. These things are spoken of in the bible, but just reading about them and agreeing with the need will not bring us into a living and loving relationship with Him. And without that relationship there is not and there cannot be any true growth into Jesus Christ.

Prophets are given in and to the church to show this very thing.

A prophet also must not contradict the bible. It is very difficult for many to stick to this one.
